Tony Hawks Project 8 (PS3)
Review of Tony Hawks Project 8 (PS3) by
slate_dawg
Advantages: Good graphics, hundreds of goals and side games, more real than ever before
Disadvantages: Some graphical glitches, can be frustrating.
...Tony Hawks has exploded onto the PS3 with a revamped version of the PS2 game Project 8.
From personal experience and being a very big THPS fan, I can say that this is by far the most addictive, most improved and best Tony Hawks game on the market. Even as a "pick up and play" game it is very addictive as I have many friends who had tried this for the first time and have gone on to purchase the game themselves.
As you start the game, you create a skater that is completely custom to how you want him or her to look in a way that no previous game has been able to manage. Then, in a completely free roaming world, you unlock goals and areas around the game that increase in difficulty as you progress. Once a certain amount of goals are completed, you can unlock additional areas of the Tony Hawks world that expand the huge free roaming...

Tony Hawks project 8
Review of Tony Hawks Project 8 (PS3) by
andyyaris
Advantages: Easy to pick up
Disadvantages: Quite boring after a few hours
...After only really playing Tony Hawks games with friends usually over a few beers and enjoying playing them, I thought it was about time i bought myself one. I saw this on offer form play.com for £17.99 for the PS3.
It arrived, I played it for an hour and it seemed great, played it a second time and enjoyed it, by the thrid time i was starting to get bored. At this point i began to notice quite a lot of glitchs in game play and the graphics. I have had Tony stuck in a wall, wedged between two trees and blocked inbetween a ramp and a wall all of which which needed me to re-start the game. The graphics are no where near the potential of the PS3, its a slight upgrade to PS2 graphics at best
The controls and game play are good, as well as the motion sensative stuff using the siaxis controler and some of the music in the game...

Skate. PS3 - The low down.
Review of Skate (PS3) by
arrrtdave
Advantages: Refreshing, innovative "flickit" controls, sense of achievement, fantastic online community.
Disadvantages: several glitches, occasionally drops frames (especially in online play).
... The current market
The Tony Hawks Skateboarding games have up until now been the only skate games on the market. So when EA announced they would be releasing there own skateboarding game with a completely redesigned control system, the hype was incredible. Skateboarders worldwide had never been offered anything more than the quirky, often unrealistic game play of Tony Hawks, however EA Skate. was set to put that right.
How Skate. stacks up
The Question is... did it achieve its goal? The answer is most definately yes. Completely redesigning the typical Skateboard controls of Tony Hawk, EA got professional skaters on the team from the start to create something completely fresh and original. Together they created the "Flickit" control system. This used both Anologue sticks to accurately control the body...

What ? Another Tony Hawks game
Review of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (Xbox 360) by
Mortious
Advantages: Great game. Looks slightly better on 360
Disadvantages: Cheaper to buy on the Xbox
...Tony Hawks American Wasteland is the latest game in the Tony Hawk Franchise and is the 7th game in as many years from producer's nervesoft. The Tony Hawks series started with Tony Hawks PRO skater 1 and carried on till Tony Hawks PRO skater 4. These games were task based where u was given set goals to complete on each level. Then nervesoft released Tony Hawks Underground (THUG) 1 and 2 which was like the original Tony hawks games but was based around a story mode.
Tony Hawks American Wasteland is a mix of both the PRO Skater series and the THUG series. With both original classic play along with a story career mode which allows for a interesting mix of game play.
Career Mode
In Tony Hawks American Wasteland'scareer mode you start off as a rebel punk who's tired of dealing with your father's tough rules, you head off to LA...

Tony Hawk vs Bam Margera! Who Wins? YOU DECIDE!
Review of Tony Hawks Underground 2 by
Stunt101
Advantages: Lots of explosions; classic mode is fun; awesome soundtrack and effects; lots of create-a-modes.
Disadvantages: Story mode will only take you a few hours; no online play.
...to burn through the story mode in around five to seven hours. Luckily, that's not all that THUG2 has.
Underground 2 also has a mode known as classic mode, which basically is like Tony Hawk 3 except in new levels. It has the two-minute run timer and goal structure of the first three Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games. Most of the game's levels are the same levels that you find in the story mode, but there's also a number of levels from previous games in the series, all the way back to the school and downhill jam levels from the very first game are here. It is nice to have a separate mode like this, yet the thing about playing to unlock levels that you've either already played in the story mode or remember from earlier games in the series makes the mode a little underwhelming. More new levels for this mode would have been nice.
There's also...

Tony Hawk is back with another excellent game!
Review of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (PS2) by
g-virus
Advantages: No loading screens, lots of unlockables and excellent gameplay
Disadvantages: BMX feature was laking, there's rap music on it!
...Game title: Tony Hawks American Wasteland
Format: PS2
Genre: Extreme sports/skateboarding
Certificate: 16+
Contains: Mild violence, mild language and a bit of blood
Developed by: Neversoft
Published by: Activision
Players: 1 or 2 players
Memory card usage: 134KB minimum
Other information: Network adaptor (Ethernet) compatible 2 - 8 players, Enhanced with Eye Toy USB camera
Well Tony Hawks American Wasteland which I will be calling THAW from now on is the 7th game in the series. It all started way back on the PS1 with the first in the series Tony Hawks Pro Skater. Tony Hawk was just making it big or (bigger if you like) on the skating scene by landing the first 900 degree spin air trick. This spun off the contract to make a game with his name on it. I came across this game from a friend when I first started skating...

Tony Hawk turns into a THUG!
Review of Tony Hawk' Underground (Xbox) by
Stunt101
Advantages: Visual great; amazing soundtrack; gameplay adds new moves, but retains it's charm; lots of modes.
Disadvantages: No online play, even though the PS2 version has it; storymode isn't a dramatic change.
....
As far as multiplayer goes, there's no online play, but there's a system link for up to 8 players. There's lots of multiplayer modes, including score competitions, best combo battles, graffiti, goal attack, and lots more. There's also a new mode called fireball, which attempts to turn your eight-player matches into a deathmatch of sorts by giving you the ability to fire projectiles at the other players. You're given a health meter, and the last player standing wins. It's annoying there's no Xbox Live, especially since the PS2 version has online play, but if you don't play on live this isn't a problem for you.
No Tony Hawk game would be complete without unlockable items, and THUG has lots of them. You can find at least three hidden skaters and four unlockable levels, three of which are from a previous versions of Tony Hawk. In the past games...

Tony Hawks Remix for PSP
Review of Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix (PSP) by
Roguey-117
Advantages: Tony hawks portable!, Good as other tony hawks games, Cheap!
Disadvantages: Controls can be tricky, no level editor
...: High score, horse, tagging and many more.
One of the great features of the game is the create modes. Using the create a skater mode you can design your own playable character and even map your own picture of your face onto the character so he or she has your face! You can also create you own board by selecting the wheel colour, Design, Graptape design and style. The create a goal lets you create you own style of story mode challenge on your level of choice which is great if you want to give yourself a greater challenge. You can even create your own skate boarding special signature trick!
There are many many maps to play on so you wont be bored and you will spend a long time completing this game 100% especially on the Sick level of difficulty. Even if the game looks like a copy of the PS2 version of Tony Hawks...

Tony Hawk 3 Another Activison Hit
Review of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PS2) by
ciaomen
Advantages: Smooth Gameplay, Detailed Graphics
Disadvantages: Soundtrack could have more songs
...After purchasing this game, I could not wait to rip it open and start playing. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is solid and smooth. Tons of levels, tons of skaters, tons of fun!
After only a year of relasing Tony Hawk 2, Tony Hawk 3 was released and has already became one of the most popular games the Playstation has ever seen!
First of the Gameplay:
This is what makes the game fun, the gameplay. The gameplay is for the most part easy to figure out (just like anything else, takes a while to master). The trick system as you knew it in Tony Hawk 2 is almost entirely the same -- grind, flip, grab, manual. The new "revert" command is a significant addition, but it doesn't feel as big a leap ahead as the manual was in Tony Hawk 2. It's a new dimension nonetheless, though, enabling you to combine air and lip tricks off...

Tony Hawks Underground 2
Review of Tony Hawks Underground 2 by
Peter-Hedger
Advantages: Classic Mode
Disadvantages: None
...Tony Hawks Underground 2 is a fantastic game. You can do many things from creating skateboard parks to tagging on the walls. It's very easy to control your skater. You can do many types of tricks such as crouching, air tricks, grab tricks, flip tricks, grind tricks, lip tricks, manual tricks, reverts, no comply and many more. Tony Hawks Underground 2 has focus mode. Simply when your special meter is full you push the white button and go in to slow mode. You can only use focus mode for 15 seconds at a time. You can't use focus mode for more than three of the same combos.
The new Tony Hawks Underground features allow you to walk around, climb and jump. There are many game modes, which are full of fun. You can play story mode which is were you have to go on the world destruction tour. The brand new classic mode exclusive to Tony Hawks...
