...Toni & Guy I have visited a few of Toni & Guy salons, so I now feel that I can write this review. In 1963 Toni & Guy first salon opened in Clapham London. From there on in, there was no stopping them, nearly every big town has one. If I am correct they also have or are expanding abroad. If you have visited 1 or more Toni & Guy salon?s you will notice that they are all the same, from the chairs to the sinks, the walls to the floor. Each salon is identical, being the inside. They have a uniform of Black and White. Black bottoms with a White top, they do have their own logo t-shirts in which some staff do wear. The salons I have visited ? Chichester in West Sussex, owned by a man called Jeff. Basildon in Essex, owned by a man called Billy. This opened in August 1999. Billy is sponsoring Miss Essex at the moment...

Tony! Toni! Toné?

Advantages: Lots of big tracks
Disadvantages: Nothing specific

...The Oakland, California group, Tony! Toni! Toné!, released their second album, ?The Revival? in 1990. The R&B group dropped this album right in the middle of the New Jack Swing era of the genre, and so this is much of what you get from the band as well as a little Soul from them as you have Raphael Saadiq lead on the vocals with his brother D?Wayne Wiggins and cousin Timothy Christian Riley (in addition to many other people with instrumentals). 1. ?Feels Good? To get this album underway, you have a track which has the band getting down with their first chart-topping single. It has them work with Mopreme Shakur (stepbrother to 2Pac) in a banger of a jam which has them throw down some heavy, feel-good New Jack Swing to the listeners. It is just the right way to begin things as you hear that they choose to excite listeners on Breakbeats...

For as long as I can remember the packet has always had the familiar picture on the front,the poised Highland Shot -putter in the grain field. ...I recently had a terrible experience at Toni and Guy in Liverpool (Whitechapel) when tint was used on my hair when I specifically requested hi-lites. The experience caused my scalp to burn and it is still very sore to this day. I'm amazed I still have hair at all! And touch wood it will fully recover. I will have to invest in zinc tablets now.The stylist literally painted the top of my head with the solution and walked away. I now look like I have red roots when the rest of my hair is blonde. The service itself was very sloppy and apart from the terrible consultation, I was left on my own for an hour when I desperately wanted the hairdresser to wash the solution out as it was causing such discomfort. Since the disaster, I have been into the salon to complain and was given peppermint solution to soothe the burns! I have used a whole...

...Infected - Scott Sigler. Please not Ciao....this is not an audio book. 'When you hear the voices it's already too late'. I have to say, I find writing book reviews particularly difficult. There is a thin line between enticing someone with enough plot and information to encourage them to read the book for themselves, and too much plot so that they pretty much don't need to read it. At just over 450 pages this is not too long, in fact I read it in 4 days, as one of my 'holiday books'. The cover was what initially attracted me to the book, and when I turned the book over, the short synopsis and recommendations from other authors persuaded me to purchase. ...Before you read the rest of this review you need to know 2 things about me 1/ I HATE going to the hairdressers. Ever since a hideous haircut as an 8 year old that left me teased at school, and traumatised for life!!! And again, at 16 with a Toni and Guy's Stylist who just wouldn't listen to what I wanted at all!!! I left with big, bouffant, backcombed US soap star hair, which surprisingly didn't suit a 5 foot nothing school girl! 2/ I also hate people coming up to me on the street and trying to sell me stuff! So, it was a very bizarre and unusual set of circumstances that found me this morning sitting in the Toni and Guy Training Academy on New Oxford Street, acting as a model for Rob, who was about to be assessed on his technique for cutting a classic bob! Tilt - Scott Walker

Advantages: incredibly unique music
Disadvantages: perhaps a little too bleak at times

...Blimey - what an album! It's not, however, very likeable. Scott's previous record Climate Of Hunter, for all it's oddities, is still a collection of relatively traditional songs. Tilt isn't. But the opening "Farmer In The City" is still one of the best tracks ever recorded and still, after 12 years and goodness knows how many plays, brings me to the verge of tears at the "Paulo, take me with you..." bit. Amazing. The strings are stunningly powerful. "The Cockfighter" is weird beyond belief, especially the way Scott's voice fractures as he sings "it's a beautiful ni-HIght" which is just freaky. The minute of disturbing scratching noises at the start of the track weirds me out too. A whole new category of music - industrial classical. "Bouncer See Bouncer" goes on way too long before that lovely shaft of light, the orchestra backed...
