...Toni & Guy I have visited a few of Toni & Guy salons, so I now feel that I can write this review. In 1963 Toni & Guy first salon opened in Clapham London. From there on in, there was no stopping them, nearly every big town has one. If I am correct they also have or are expanding abroad. If you have visited 1 or more Toni & Guy salon?s you will notice that they are all the same, from the chairs to the sinks, the walls to the floor. Each salon is identical, being the inside. They have a uniform of Black and White. Black bottoms with a White top, they do have their own logo t-shirts in which some staff do wear. The salons I have visited ? Chichester in West Sussex, owned by a man called Jeff. Basildon in Essex, owned by a man called Billy. This opened in August 1999. Billy is sponsoring Miss Essex at the moment...

Tony! Toni! Toné?

Advantages: Lots of big tracks
Disadvantages: Nothing specific

...The Oakland, California group, Tony! Toni! Toné!, released their second album, ?The Revival? in 1990. The R&B group dropped this album right in the middle of the New Jack Swing era of the genre, and so this is much of what you get from the band as well as a little Soul from them as you have Raphael Saadiq lead on the vocals with his brother D?Wayne Wiggins and cousin Timothy Christian Riley (in addition to many other people with instrumentals). 1. ?Feels Good? To get this album underway, you have a track which has the band getting down with their first chart-topping single. It has them work with Mopreme Shakur (stepbrother to 2Pac) in a banger of a jam which has them throw down some heavy, feel-good New Jack Swing to the listeners. It is just the right way to begin things as you hear that they choose to excite listeners on Breakbeats...

Fame Academy - Toni and Guy style

Advantages: Freebie haircuts, friendly service,
Disadvantages: May take longer than a normal cut, as the tutors will double check everything!

...Before you read the rest of this review you need to know 2 things about me 1/ I HATE going to the hairdressers. Ever since a hideous haircut as an 8 year old that left me teased at school, and traumatised for life!!! And again, at 16 with a Toni and Guy's Stylist who just wouldn't listen to what I wanted at all!!! I left with big, bouffant, backcombed US soap star hair, which surprisingly didn't suit a 5 foot nothing school girl! 2/ I also hate people coming up to me on the street and trying to sell me stuff! So, it was a very bizarre and unusual set of circumstances that found me this morning sitting in the Toni and Guy Training Academy on New Oxford Street, acting as a model for Rob, who was about to be assessed on his technique for cutting a classic bob! I'm not sure who was the most nervous, him or me!!! HOW IT ALL...

Toni & Guy aren't all that

Advantages: Can be a bargain with a trainee
Disadvantages: Attitude!

...I'd never been to a Toni & Guy before as personally I think spending upwards of £50 just for a trim is a bit of a rip off, and I've always been happy with the cuts and colouring I've had at more reasonably priced salons. However last time I walked past the Oxford branch they were advertising for models for cutting and colouring, so as it's only 5 minutes from where I work I thought I'd give it a go. I spoke to the trainee who would be cutting my hair, and he was really nice, had a chat about the cut I wanted (basically to go from a boring longish bob to a sharper, more graduated cut) and he booked me in for the following week. The price was £10 which I thought was a bargain. I've had my hair cut by trainees before and always found it fine, although sometimes it can take a bit longer and I find they have to concentrate more so don...

...Having grown up with an older sister in the hair industry I always had my hair cut by her until I got older and more adventurous and the time came when she refused to colour my hair with the mad and funky colours I wanted, so having seen Toni and Guy salons in nearly every town near me I decided to give it a go. ...I saw an advert looking for model for colour, pasted outside Toni and Guy Victoria branch. I decided to walk in to enquire. The reception there set me an appointment to come in on a Thursday. As this was my first experience being a model for hair colour, I was a little unsure. Therefore I asked how experience the student who will be doing the colour is. Toni & Guy metrocentre gateshead

Advantages: good end result, friendly & welcoming environment

...Since turning 20 I've been getting a bit sick of the old 'short back & sides.' I thought I'd try a more upper market salon than a barbour shop. There's a few of both in the metrocentre, the shopping mall in Gateshead, Tyneside. I was just after an improvement but not sure what. I'd a recommendation of Toni & Guy. I looked around the metrocentre on a quiet Tuesday morning to check out all salons, not just T&G. The others had groups of staff, who weren't cutting hair, crowding round a seat. This always puts me off any kind of shop. However the few members of staff in T&G were cutting hair, with one sitting behind the desk looking busy. ...I recently had a terrible experience at Toni and Guy in Liverpool (Whitechapel) when tint was used on my hair when I specifically requested hi-lites. The experience caused my scalp to burn and it is still very sore to this day. I'm amazed I still have hair at all! And touch wood it will fully recover. I will have to invest in zinc tablets now.The stylist literally painted the top of my head with the solution and walked away. I now look like I have red roots when the rest of my hair is blonde. The service itself was very sloppy and apart from the terrible consultation, I was left on my own for an hour when I desperately wanted the hairdresser to wash the solution out as it was causing such discomfort.
