Tooled-Up.com
Review of Tooled-up.com by
amyloop
Advantages: Customer service and lovely stuff
Disadvantages: not a local rate helpline
...look around the site. I honestly cannot see much fault with it, the whole site is easy to navigate throughout and every item has a title and description which makes it easy to almost ensure that what you are about to order, will be the right item.
I also noticed that the range of products that they sell is so vast, there were things on the website which I was looking to by. They not only supply tools for different professions, they also supply car products, cleaning products, garden bits and loads of things which I wouldn't associate with the boring reality of just 'tools'.
I also thought it was brillaint how they sell complete tool kits for different professions, it makes it easy for apprentices and starters in the profession ensure that they have what they need, and give them a boot in the right direction.
I think apart from...

The Adventures of Kitty at Tool
Review of Tool - 10,000 days tour by
Kittys_gremlin
Advantages: Captivating show
Disadvantages: Metal fans wont appreciate this
...Back in 2001 I heard a track that would change my life literally forever. The track was Schism and the band was Tool.
Tool had been around since the early 90s but it wasn't until the release of their album Lateralus that I heard of them and instantly fell in love. Their unique riffs and spectacular lyrics had me hooked so when I heard of their new album and the possibility of a tour I knew instantly I needed to go.
Tool first played Download 2006 which was listed as part of the 10,000 days tour. At the time my friends had left me to the mercy of the crowd (themselves having been crushed to death during Deftones) yet I clung to the railings making several friends with those few in the immediate vicinity of me and forming a fan club for the security staff to help pass the time. They were late on stage but the instant the riff...

About a tool I know - KFingleton
Review of Heavy Tools Flight by
Spongly
Advantages: Talks back, light.
Disadvantages: Difficult to control, noisy.
...This is in response to Gavino’s thoroughly unfair review of the snowboard Kevgin Fingleton, so please read his opinion before this one.
Last time I went snowboarding I found Kevin to be a more than adequate piece of equipment. He skidded merrily across the snow, and was remarkably light compared to most pieces of equipment. He was difficult to control at first due to his wild thrashing, but soon became docile after a few near collisions with trees. He would also provide fascinating conversation for those long expanses of snow, something which no other tool can boast.
However, that is not to say that I was without problems. The irritating piglety squeaks which emerged from him whenever I hit a rock or landed heavily after a jump quickly got old, and he seemed to get damaged very quickly, to the point of oozing blood all over...

Period Ship Kit Builder's Manual
Review of Period Ship Kit Builder's Manual - Keith Julier by
Truckle
Advantages: Good for beginners and intermediate model ship builders
Disadvantages: Could benefit from a few more colour photographs
...In a moment of madness I decided that I wished to build an period wooden ship. (The wife had seen some for sale, but I thought, I can do better then that - hmm, little did I know!)
So after extensive research on the net I picked a relatively simple model to do. Now having no experience at all on building model ships I was relying solely on the instructions to tell me what to do. And while they did a good enough job most of the time, there where certain elements that could have done with a bit more explanation or a hint on the best way to do it. So after making a few errors I decided to purchase a book to help, and reading the title of this one, it seemed like the ideal one to get.
The book takes you through each and every step of model boat building from choosing the right kit for you, which tools and adhesive/paints would...

It's all Go-Go-Go for this handy tool
Review of Park Tools Chain Wear indicator by
fred_redwood
Advantages: Cheap, Sturdy, Easy to Use
Disadvantages: None
...The Company
Park Tools are an American company manufacturing bike tools for the home and professional mechanic. They claim to be the largest bike tool manufacturer in the world.
From personal experience I have found that while Park Tools are more expensive, they tend to be of higher quality than their competitors. Despite being an American company, most of their tools are actually manufactured in the far east.
Why would you want a Chain Checker?
Chains are said to stretch with use. The chain doesn't actually stretch. What happens is that the pins and bushings are worn away by use, creating play. A worn chain under tension will elongate further than a new one. Once the chain has elongated by 1% or more it is considered worn. This level of wear is not visually obvious. Chain checkers provide an accurate...
