Sonicare Electric Toothbrush
Review of Sonicare Electrical Toothbrush by
Paradis
Advantages: Makes your teeth last longer.
Disadvantages: Noisy and heavy. Not really so bad though.
...Sonicare is supposed to remove twice as much of that nasty plaque from our teeth as a normal manual toothbrush does. A normal toothbrush is only able to remove around 50% of the plaque. It is also supposed to be able to remove stains far more efficiently. They say, up to 80% in fact. All that tea and coffee, wine and tobacco will be gone in an instant, or nearly.
Apparently, Sonicare generates a low frequency acoustic energy, that makes the teeth vibrate gently, and literally shakes the plaque off them. With 31,000 strokes a minute, the brush zooms through the job, and makes brushing a breeze. It has a two minutes timer, to let you know when you have finished the job.
The brush comes in a stylish creamy white colour, complete with it's own holder, for recharging. (This still is a mystery, as there is no visible source where...

Sonicare Electric Toothbrush
Review of Sonicare Electrical Toothbrush by
damien.gallery
Advantages: Modern Technology, Protective cover case, 2 year warranty.
Disadvantages: Heavier than conventional brushes.
...Electric tootbrushes have been around for a while now, I bought my first disposable one in Tescoes 10 years ago. Sonicare is a new generation of electric toothbrushes made by Philips. They combine technology with dental care to produce the sonicare range. Visit the Sonicare website for more information. The brush head operates at 40,000 vibrations per minute. The battery is charged by induction. This is quite an amazing gadget that allows you to charge the battery in the brush handle by standing it in the charger ( the other half of the induction charger). No need to open anything up, just plug it in and charge. The battery has a life of 2 years. According to Wikipedia the battery lasts longer if you allow the brush to fully de-charge before charging it.
Sonicare is available from £50 to £100. I paid £100 for my pack which included 1...

Get a Sonicare Electric Toothbrush in a rush!!
Review of Sonicare Sonicare HX 5251 Elite by
caro_uk
Advantages: Easy to use, excellent results
Disadvantages: Watch out for toothpaste spatters and dribbling...
...with the electric toothbrush itself and a charger (which must be plugged into a shaver socket).
This brush is the most basic of the Sonicare range but, as far as I am concerned, is more than adequate to do an excellent job.
For the first few times you use it, the in-built 'easy start' programme gradually increases the intensity of the brushing action over the first 14 times of use so that by the end of this time, your brush is operating at full capacity. This means that you have the chance to get used to the sensation of using an electric toothbrush at a reduced rate to begin with.
When I first tried this brush, I really thought that I would not be able to get on with it. The brushing action felt very odd indeed and almost unpleasant. However, thankfully I persevered and now feel that I would never go back to a manual brush. The unusual...

Sonicare
Review of Sonicare Electrical Toothbrush by

Advantages: Dramatically cleaner teeth
Disadvantages: hefty initial cost
...You know those stories about how this or that product transformed someone's life? And you think 'nah - don't be silly'? Well while I wouldn't *quite* claim life-changing properties for a toothbrush, this has come pretty close. Unlike most electric toothbrushes, the Sonicare works by emitting sonic waves, which travel beyond the ends of the bristles. That means you can clean in places you can't reach, like under the gumline or between tightly packed teeth. It also cleans all the surfaces much more effectively. I have always had a problem with stained teeth - drinking strong coffee by the bucketload, smoking and the odd glass of red wine saw to that. Now, however, my teeth just don't stain. At all. My dentist has noticed a big improvement too - but not in the amount I'm paying him! On my last two trips I haven't even needed a scale...

I love my sonicare.
Review of Sonicare Electrical Toothbrush by
pucciepie
Advantages: lower dentist bills as teeth are cleaner and have less plaque build up
Disadvantages: having to take it apart to clean under brush attatchment.and the price of new brushes are expensive.
...Since I have been using my sonicare toothbrush my dentist has been impressed by the improved hygeine of my teeth and gums.I have gone back to using conventional brushes when on holiday and my teeth did not feel as if they were properly cleaned as it was difficult to get below the gum line and the timer guides me on spending the correct time to spend on each quarter of my mouth.
As the brush works by using soundwaves to clean the teeth it is much more effective than other methods as it loosens debris and gets in between the teeth and under the gum line.
I am also very impressed by the after sales service as I needed a new charger when I left mine in Antigua.I contacted the customer service dept when I had difficulty ordering one through a retailer and a very courteous adviser sent me a replacement by return of post.
Initially...

Sonicare Elite
Review of Sonicare HX7551/02 by
lora44
Advantages: Great job, ergonomic design, easy to use
Disadvantages: Expensive replacement heads
...toothbrush in my opinion.
I say this because I have had one of the most basic Sonicare models. Again - not so great with model names and numbers, but I got it around two years ago and we recently got a newer model (because we thought it would be harder to get replacement heads for our model - though this hasn't been the case).
I think the new Elite series are much more aesthetically pleasing than the first Sonicare we had - they have an ergonomic design, a tapered handle with an angled head which really makes a difference.
Once you take it out of the box it couldn't be simpler to set up - just plug in the base, place the handle in the charger and you're away - the instruction manual sets this out quite clearly and is easy to follow. It also provides useful tips on getting the very best out of your Sonicare.
I've found the battery life...

Cleaner teeth, lighter bank balance
Review of Sonicare Electrical Toothbrush by
angiegw
Advantages: Teeth feel wonderfully clean and are visibly whiter
Disadvantages: Expensive intial outlay and very expensive replacement heads
...I was desperate for a Sonicare toothbrush. I'd seen them advertised on TV and they looked fabulous, so I was thrilled when my parents gave me one for Christmas a year and a half ago. I think it was around eighty pounds, but they got a "buy one, get one half price" deal and treated my sister to one too.
The Sonicare comes with two heads and a base unit for recharging. My first thought was how much larger the heads were in comparison to the standard electric toothbrush I had been using, but I got used to it fairly quickly. The instruction leaflet did make quite a big deal of the "tickling sensation" when you first use a Sonicare, but I barely noticed it.
After the first time I used the Sonicare I was aware of how much smoother and cleaner my teeth felt, and I have no doubt at all that the Sonicare is extremely effective. I also...
