SPEEDING

Advantages: you "feel" that you are getting to your destination faster
Disadvantages: death, injury, you often dont get there any quicker, people are ignorant about it

...playing, and I know I have the ability to turn it off, but it just annoys me. Its there, and because its there I'll use it. So every race ends up becoming me watching a green line turn red and acting accordingly, it takes the edge of the game and makes it less of a racing game and more of a follow-the-line game. I perfered Grid, where there was no option at all for a racing line, so you had to rely on your own driving cunning to best guide you around the circuit. The second whine I have, and this is getting really nit picky, is the speed in which you progress through the career mode. Sure this might appeal to a lot of players who only really play racing games casually, but I managed to get access to the top cars, Tier 1, in a matter of sittings. I liked having to rake around the track in my Ford Focus, but I can barely remember Tiers 2 and 3...

...I was a big fan of the 'Need for Speed : Underground' games, back when all you had to do was get to the starting point and then race. There was no story and there was no running away from the cops every five minutes. After 'Need for Speed : Underground 2' I stopped playing these games. because it moved away from the original idea of the game and because the far better 'Juiced' was on the market. But I finally decided to give one ago and here's the review for it. ~~~ Story ~~~ I was unaware that the 'Need for Speed' games had a story nowadays, so I was surprised when the game started with a cut-scene featuring real actors and actresses. ...Speed stars the fantastic Keanu Reeves and the wonderful Sandra Bullock, along with Dennis Hopper. The main part of the film is based around 'the bomb on the bus', but we also see a bomb on an elevator at the beginning. So basically, the entire film is based aroud a bomb on something! Harry and Jack (Keanu) are two cops who unfortunately are given the task of trying to save a lot of people on an elevator attached to a bomb, or the other way round, a bomb attached to an elevator. Anyway, they manage to save these people and come face-to-face with the bad guy (Dennis). This events in Harry being shot and everybody believing the bad guy is dead. But it's obvious something else, something interesting is going to happen as we are only 45 minuites into the film! Harry and Jack recieve an award for their bravery, whilst the bad guy...

If this doesn't put people off speeding what will?

...not paid on time. Jack must first find out what bus the bomb is on then once again risk his life to save numerous people including quick witted Annie (Sandra Bullock) who coincidentally on the bus after losing her licence for speeding! Speed is without doubt one of my favourite action movies of the 90?s much like Die Hard is my favourite action movie from the 80?s. Although Die Hard is far superior to Speed, Speed is still a fantastic film that still manages to glue you to the edge of your seat from start to finish. The opening sequence is great, it really manages to set the pace for the film and get you gripped right from the beginning. It doesn?t go on for too long which is what kills a lot of action movies, some of them can get too caught up in the action and all the special effects that it becomes overkill and they focus less...
