...Well, when I saw that "Top Gear" had not received a review based on its current format (i.e. Its re-birth after BBC decided that they DID need a car consumer programme after having previously axed it) I felt that one was long overdue. And to make it even more refreshing for you all, its from my point of view - that of a female!! You'll find Top Gear hidden away on BBC2 at the moment - 8pm until 9pm on a Sunday evening. Perhaps not the most ideal timeslot for all (I'll hold my hands up and say that I don't always remember to tune in - and then I'm gutted when I realised that I've missed it!). The show is now based from a hangar on an old airfield, with the runways at the programme's disposal to show us what the cars that they report on can really do! Disadvantages: A few weaker tracks on CD 2 but they had to be included to make a comprehensive album!

...Overall, this is a fantastic Four Tops compilation in terms of liner notes, comprehensiveness and more importantly the quality of the recordings. I treated myself to this double album recently and was incredibly impressed with my investment. All the original recordings, which have been fantastically remastered without taking away the warm sound, and ultimately some of my favourite songs of all time. The Four Tops are probably one of the most remembered of the Motown acts and any fan of Motown will appreciate them, but even to the uninitiated, the Four Tops are probably one of the most accessible soul acts of all time and this album is a good starting point to anyone looking to build up a Motown collection. ...The latest (for another two weeks at least) adventure from Stephanie Plum, written by Janet Evanovich. Stephanie Plum is a New Jersey bounty hunter, or at least she used to be. In Eleven on Top, Steph quits the business and then works her way through a chain of hopeless jobs in a vain attempt to rid herself of a lunatic from her past, intent on torturing and killing her. She goes through job at the button factory, a dry cleaners, and cluck-in-a-bucket (a fast food place) before finally landing an office position at RangeMan (a personal security company) - all with hilarious outcomes. With the help of Joe Morelli (a hot Trenton cop) and Ranger (an equally hot bounty hunter and businessman, and manager of RangeMan) she stays alive, solves a crime she shouldn't even have been involved in, and destroys several more cars … but that's all... ...There I am. Its Thursday, its 8.30 and I am about to tune into my favourite program - Top Gear. Oh yes the BBC 2 gang continue to fuel my knowledge of cars and keep me informed. Whoops sorry, I forgot to tell you that that was a flashback from only a couple of years ago when I could actually be bothered to tune in to BBC2 to watch what was my fave program. Unfortunately Top Gear is falling from our screens at the end of this year and I can perfectly see why. Despite its almost legendary name, Top Gear will drop from the TV listings for a 'revamp'. My job here is to identify why such a repected and interesting show turned into a mundane and muddled program. ...I visited Top-Shop only last week while i was in hot pursuit for a pair of black trousers. Easy you may think especially as top-Shop is renowned for it's choice of clothes and assesories. You have got to be joking!! I am a size 14 okay so not as small as I once was but certainly not huge, well that's exactly what the assistant in Top-Shop made me feel like. She very curtly informed me that whilst Top-shop endeavor to do there best they really only accomodate (in stock-control) for sizes up to size 12 as this is what the majority of their customers are, but if I would like to look around maybe I will find something in my size that isn't in high fashion at the moment. So exactly what did she mean? Find something really fogey and not me because I am a size 14? This incident really did upset me and I am sure it would have... Read review

Advantages: Lots of great songs from the eighties

...I was in my local record store the other week browsing for ideas for mothers day for my wife from our two small children when my attention was caught by this particular offering. As most of you will be aware from my previous reviews, one of my great passions is eighties music and I couldn't resist buying this. Not for my wife I might add but for myself. So what was it that caught my attention? Well to be honest the graphics on the CD hardly grab your attention. Basically it consists of a dark blue cover with light blue lettering declaring that it is a Top of The Pops Album, with this letting enclosed to make it appear like a circle. The BBC logo is also detailed but this is hardly prominent either. In red lettering at the bottom of the circle the album stipulates the 80s, and provides details of a selection of artists...
