Pure Vision For Some - But Not Me
Review of Purevision Toric Contact Lenses by
Tempus_Fugit
Advantages: corrects astigmatism, continous wear up to 30 days
Disadvantages: not for everyone, can rotate and cause blurred vision, price
...astigmatism).
Ever one for trying new things I agreed to PureVision Toric (although I had to promise not to wear them overnight right from the beginning). I scheduled regular check ups - very important at the beginning of the contact lens trial.
After years of not wearing lenses I found that soft lenses were a complete mystery to me. When I got my gas permeable lenses I was also supplied with a little sucker to get the lenses out of my eyes at the end of the day because I found using my fingers didn't quite work for me.
Getting used to soft lenses was certainly a learning curve for me. I was lucky that my lenses contained two prescriptions, therefore making them a little thicker and easier to handle. Scooping the lenses out of their container was no problem at all. PureVision toric lenses are slightly coloured - a faint blue tint - so you...

Second only to 20/20 vision
Review of Purevision Toric Contact Lenses by
candylamour
Advantages: Don't dry out; You can sleep in them;
Disadvantages: You do eventually have to take them out!!
...Thank goodness for Bausch & Lomb Purevision Toric!!
I was diagnosed with Myopia when I was about 7 years old. Don't panic, I don't need your sympathy...myopia is the technical term for short-sighted. As a seventies baby it meant having to endure the inevitable brown plastic framed NHS glasses through primary school. By the time I had reached secondary school I had been upgraded to metal framed glasses. I cringe when I look back at what I was wearing and you can tell the year by the style of my glasses. It is so embarassing being a glasses wearer in the eighties!! LOL!! I was always in the school football teams even though I was becoming even more short-sighted. I have no idea how I managed to play and actually play well....just imagine where I could have been with contact lenses!!
My first experience of contact lenses...

Contact Lenses - Great
Review of Contact Lenses - Contact Lenses by
elvina
Advantages: Restore your vision to near perfect
Disadvantages: You have to be very careful with hygiene
...I have worn contact lenses for over 20 years and think that they are fantastic. I have very poor sight, short sighted, and find that most years my eyes get weaker. I have glasses for night time and if my eyes are sore or tired, a very very rare occurence. I would not swap my lenses for the world as they allow me to have normal vision without having the problems that glasses give i.e. blind spots at the side, discomfort to the bridge of your nose and ears, steaming up in the kitchen or shower.
Another hidden advantage to contact lenses is that they make cutting onions very easy, your eyes very rarely burn!
I dont know what I would do if I had to stop wearing contact lenses, I would probably have to try some sort of surgery.
Originally I wore lenses which I only took out once a week but now I use the same type of lenses...

The best daily contact lenses you can get
Review of Focus Dailies (Box of 30) Contact Lenses by
Blondechick
Advantages: Cheap, comfortable, easy to put in
Disadvantages: Can sometimes feel a bit scratchy
...in the good old British weather that our trusty glasses make it even harder for us to see, as they don’t appear to be water proof and really enjoy steaming up at the first opportunity.
Seeing options.
So what’s the option then, well its either spending loads of money on laser treatment which although I have been told does work is not an option for some of us as it’s quite costly. So lets quickly move onto the next option. Contact lenses. This alternative for wearing glasses has been around for quite a while. There has either been a choice of wearing soft lenses or hard lenses, which are very uncomfortable and then you have to look after them as much as you would do a child, with all the cleaning, soaking etc. Once again in comparison with the children if you lose your contact lenses you’re in big trouble. That’...

Focus Monthly Contact Lenses
Review of Focus Monthly Contact Lenses by
K1r5ty21
Advantages: Value for money if used wisely
Disadvantages: If not rinsed well or left in too long can cause discomfort
...Being a short-sighted Myopia sufferer contact lenses seemed like an obvious alternative to spectacles what with constantly losing or breaking them. Contact lenses eradicated this problem! Focus monthly's were the first brand of lenses I ever tried…not too expensive so as a student I could comfortably afford them. I must admit these lenses were quite comfortable…at first but due to the necessity of having to re-use and re-use them they had a tendency to fray round the edges, dry out and slightly deteriorate. If they hadn't been sterilised properly overnight and stored in the correct solution this felt on occasions like putting grit into your eye the following morning.
Focus monthly's are a product of Ciba Vision and retail at most opticians for about ten pounds a month (can be purchased in three month batches if more appropriate...

Problem free contact lenses
Review of Focus Dailies (Box of 30) Contact Lenses by
Kikki
Advantages: convenient and clean
Disadvantages: sometimes no lense in pack
...Ive been wearing disposable contacts for about 1 year and a bit now, and ive found that the dailies are much better than the monthly ones. I mean with the monthly ones, not only do u have to purchase the contacts cleaner solution every so often,(half the time, u never get to use up all the bottle, coz its past its date), u have the added work of cleaning the lenses before and after you wear the lenses, but with dailies, u never have to worry about all that hassle!! also, of ur a grl and sometimes have the trouble of cleaning them becuse of long nails..its a pain!(u always have the fear of splitting them accidently too)...with disposable ones, all u need to do is open the packet, pop them in, at the end of the day, take them out and bin them!?...how simple is that?? easy as 1,2,3
The price of dailies is much more expensive...

Focus Dailies (Box of 30) Contact Lenses
Review of Focus Dailies (Box of 30) Contact Lenses by
stephen1980
Advantages: Cheap, great quality, easy to aplly
Disadvantages: none
...Ive been wearing contact lenses for over 4 years and these focus dailies are the best ive had. Ive tried quite a few brands and these for me have been the best.
I used to order them from my opticians, which was a private optician, but have found this more expensive, and now order via online at asda.com which sell them half price. Although when i first ordered them via Asda, they needed to contact my previous optician for details on my eye prescription, but they only need to do this once, then you can order as many as you like as they give you an account to go back online and place your order. They only take between 3 and 4 days for delivery.
when my lenses arrived, 2 boxes arrived with 30 in each box, which last me around a month.
as for the lenses them selfs, there easy to open package, very soft and delicate, and fit...
