...Torque does not have a solid story-line but it is about a biker, Cary Ford (Martin Henderson) who was under suspision for dealing drugs so he left the country. Now 6 months later he returns for the one thing he left behind, Shane (Monet Mazur). Upon his return he is greeted by a gang of bikers and is already being watched. He gets framed for murder of Junior, Trey's (Ice Cube) brother, who are a member of a motercycle gang. Ford has to find a way to clear his name, without getting caught by the police or other bikers. Review of Torque (DVD)

Torque is Cheap ..... SEAT Ibiza FR TDi

Advantages: Great Engine, Masses of Torque, the Q factor.......
Disadvantages: There is the odd squeak / rattle. Ride can be harsh at times

A Land Rover with the manners of an executive car.

Advantages: Exceptional towing vehicle, comfortable & reliable

...I have owned many large, spacious and comfortable vehicles; both 4x4s and cars (Mitsibishi Shoguns, Mercedes...). However, now on my second Discovery (a '52 Reg' TD5 GS) I can safely say that the Land Rover has blitzed the others. It offers a unique blend of ruggedness and comfort without sacrificing luxury. When I bought my first Discovery, again a TD5 back in 2000, friends of mine were sceptical of my choice of Diesel over the V8 petrol. However, when they experienced the smoothness and adequacy of the Turbocharged 5-cylinder unit they quickly congratulated me on my choice. Also in terms of MPG the TD5 offers around 25-30 compared to the horrific consumption of the V8. ...I bought a Freelander TD4 two months ago, having always been a huge fan of the Land Rover marque. It is quite unlike other Landrovers and other vehicles in it's class. The handling has the secure feeling of a smaller car, but has the added benefit of a high driving position, allowing a greater view of the road ahead. I have found the TD4 diesel engine perfect for towing my large caravan. The torque levels are good making effortless work of muddy campsites, cruising at 60mph or winding mountain roads. Without the caravan it performs very well off road. The traction control and ABS work extremely well and inspire confidence. The hill descent control makes light work of tricky descents. Review of Land Rover Freelander 2.0 Td4 HSE 5dr

Converted to Diesel power.

Advantages: Comfort, Economy , Practicality
Disadvantages: Low profile tyres lead to easy kerb damage.

...I was actually looking for an A190, but a very nice A170 Classic came up at a local dealer who persuaded me to overcome my prejudice against diesels & try it. I am very pleased that he did! Power is smooth, impressive enough (90bhp on my model) & is acceptably quiet. There was an issue with wind noise around the drivers door, but this was easily fixed under warranty. Dashboard functions, especially the resetting of the ASSYST service intervals are very fiddly. Although lacking the higher rev punch of an equivalent size petrol engine, the turbo diesel actually encourages a more relaxed drive. In real terms the sacrifice of performance is largely compensated by the excellent economy & low-mid range torque. There are also kits available that release significantly more bhp with a plug in black box. I intend to go that route when out...

Best diesel hatch now at bargain prices!

...I bought my Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi Zetec (52 plate) about a month ago. I?m impressed with the interior design of the car ? it?s well laid out and the driving position is excellent. The seats are comfortable and my car came with a climate pack (air-con, heated front screen and door mirrors). The heated front screen is particularly useful. Needless to say, being a Focus the handling is excellent. The Zetec model has sports suspension and really does grip the road exceptionally well. What makes this car special is the TDCi engine. It has 113 Bhp, which isn?t exceptional, but when combined with the huge amount of torque on offer (250Nm), delivers powerful and effortless acceleration, even from low revs (anything above 1500 rpm). The ?overboost? function is also useful, delivering a short burst of extra torque when the pedal is fully...

...I bought one of the first diesel Fiestas of this shape back in 2002. I chose it because I liked the looks and it was in my price range. Right from the start it met my expectations: A nice chunky interior that doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't, handles extremely well and has proved very economical. i get between 55 and 60 mpg (Accurately calculated, not from a trip computer), equating to 450 miles per tank. The engine is poweful enough for the car, although you're not going to shine if someone challenges you at the lights unless you cen get the revs to around 2300rpm, where a lovely surge of torque gives it a real pokey feel but it runs out of breathby the time you reach about 3500rpm. Quality-wise it is probably above average. i had a couple of niggles with squeaks and rattles, that have apparently been fixed since mine...

Advantages: small, powerful, comfortable, reliable, led lights, led indicators
Disadvantages: not as many bits as I'd have liked also would have liked a lock function

...This little tool is one of the best buys i have made for my tool kit. I bought it about a year ago and it gets more use than maybe any other tool. It comes in a great container which is (unlike so many others) is so neat and tidy that it is still being used today rather than just chucking the device and its charger in my tool kit. The container comes in three parts, metal top and bottom and a plastic base which acts as the charger and holder for spare bits. The driver just sits in the cradle and charges while its plugged in. Charging will usually take a couple of hours or maybe a little longer if allowed to run flat. For a small driver it has remarkable torque. It's not the fastest device on the block but it does the job admirably. Plus, it is extremely comfortable to hold. The gun type grip means you can hold it comfortably...

BMW Sporty Diesel with Low Running Costs

The car is fitted with traction control which senses the forces acting on the car through bends and adjustt the power to the rear wheels to balance the car, and this cwertainly does make a difference, combined with BMW almost perfect 50/50 from to back weight distribution. The engine is quiet for a diesel even on startup and with 150bhp on tap is brisk with quite a sporty feel.Suspension is slightly on the hard side compared to that of an Audi etc but copes well, and should enable most enthusiastic drivers to drive to their own limits safely. I was suprised at the torque of the car at most speed in the first 5 gears and this makes for safe and effortless overtaking.
