...is excellent and those who have a toshiba or sony television will be familiar with it. The design and useability are almost identical. This television has proved easy to use, popular with all who have viewed films and programs on it and most of al has been an exceptional quality when compared to the £300.00 that we usually spend on a television. Would I recommend it? Well, the answer is yes, but only to people in a similar situation. That is if you are likely to need to share television or films with a smallish audience then this is ideal. If your audience is larger I would opt for a data projector. Likewise if you are thinking of a television for home I'm not convinced that a rear projection is likely to be your television of choice unless you have a seriously large lounge. Advantages: Combines all DVD/VCR features into one very attractive neat package
Disadvantages: None that I have found to date!!

...DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW. It won't support DVD-RAM but then, with the 160GB HDD, is this really a problem? I suspect not!! And the best bit about this new model? The price is still remarkably lower than other makes. Price comparison sites will give a range of around £190 to £300 for an online purchase but the lower end of that span seems the more likely. I've now had mine for around 3 months and I can honestly say that it was worth waiting for a "budget" priced player to arrive. I'm constantly amazed at how Toshiba manage to produce such high quality goods for so reasonable a price. My TV, main VCR and previous DVD players/recorders have all been Toshiba. Not through any deliberate choice either. Each purchase made has seen me look at the functions/specs I require (and I am by no means an expert, so tend to look at fairly basic... Read review

...I bought my laptop in march for £1,300 and it is fantastic, it is a lot better than the previous Toshiba laptop I purchased which was also very good. I am yet to find a fault with Toshiba's products and service. I damaged my old laptop twice and both imes my warranty dealt with it brilliantly. In my opinion they are second only to Sony. Weight and size are very important to me, so this is ideal. The battery is great it lasts me 5 to six hours depending on the task, which is a lot better than any laptop I've had before. The wireless LAN is also very good, easy to set up and works a charm. The touch pad has a few little problems as it has too many functions, e.g. certain parts of it will send you back to the last internet page and other parts will scroll a page when you just want to move the cursor. ...The Toshiba 32Z17B is a beast of a TV, however saying that, it is of a pretty high standard, has an excellent picture quality to it especially as it’s only a 50 hertz, along with the sound which is Dolby Pro-Logic/Dolby Surround. The TV itself weighs a ton, don’t even bother trying to lift it by yourself, unless you want to slip a disc or something, it also does take up quite some room, so again, don’t bother if you have a small place, unless your focal point is your TV. The TV itself has Nicam, Fastext and a Flat Screen, which I must add is of a high quality. It features 3 Scart sockets at the back along with an RGB output. There are several important factors to look at when considering buying a projector and that is the brightness. This projector boasts a 1400 lumen lamp. For those of you who aren't used to projector terminology, lumens are just a unit for the measure of how bright the bulb in a projector is (and lamp is just the correct term for a projector bulb) Now this isn't an amazing brightness, but the Sanyo PLC-SU20 (just as an example) works comfortably at 1200 lumens and around 1500 lumens is really what somebody new to projectors should probably be looking at. ...RRP: £1575. Corporate portables - and all Toshiba's notebooks are essentially corporate products - are typically supplied with the bare minimum of memory, so we weren't surprise to find that the Portege 3440CT ships with only 64MB as standard. Nor, with it being a subnotebook, were we expecting a huge hard disk, so its 6GB drive was about right. What did slightly puzzle us was the choice of processor - mobile Pentium III/500 rather than a SpeedStep - which seemed slightly at odds with the industry move towards the latter CPU family. Whatever the chip inside, Toshiba's subnotes have always been synonymous with quality, and the new Portege carrys on the tradition.
