Toshiba 15" LCD TV with Freeview
Review of Toshiba 15V330D by
sagitaria
Advantages: Slimline, lightweight, reliable
Disadvantages: Remote control is slow to respond
...can push them against a wall and hey presto, a whole new area of worktop space.
So, despite my old analogue working perfectly, it was time to consign it to the pavement outside. I never need worry about it being collected by the bin men. It'll be long gone before then. We can guarantee one of the locals, who regularly scour the streets for unwanted electrical items, will rescue it. Before too long, it'll re-appear down at the local market where someone will make a small profit.
After a bit of research, I decided to go for the Toshiba 15" 4:3, LCD, Integrated Digital TV with Freeview. Pricewise, it seemed to be very competitive and its performance was highly rated.
I'm very loyal to Toshiba anyway, especially when it comes to televisions and DVD players. I've always found them to be a very trustworthy brand, with few, if any...

Toshiba gaming laptop P100-286,
Review of Toshiba Satellite P100-286 - Core 2 Duo T7200 2 GHz - 17" TFT by
leontata
Advantages: powerful, Vista Home Premium
Disadvantages: 4200 rpm harddrive, unidentify Geforce 7900 card, 533 bus Ram
...It is obvious that this is the most powerful gaming laptop of Toshiba UK.
Toshiba Satellite P100-286 is the replacement of its first gen : P100-347.
Both have configuration, P100-286 doesn't have any improvement in hardware. However, updated with a new BIOS and new OS : Windows Vista Home Premium. The OS seems to work fine, sometimes there're still several bugs but they can easily fixed by updating on Microsoft website regularly.
Being on the top of the line of Toshiba Gaming laptop, P100-286 comes with a very powerful laptop processor T7200 at 2.0 Ghz, 4Mb L2 Cache and Front Side Bus 667 Mhz.
A massive Ram PC of 2Gb will support the processor even better if Bus speed is increased to 667 Mhz to fit with the FSB of T7200. Replacing that pair of Ram with 2x 1Gb PC 5300 would be a good idea.
Capacity 200 Gb, certification : S...

Toshiba R100 - very small laptop
Review of Toshiba Portege R100 - Pentium M 900 MHz - 12.1" TFT by
koobra
Advantages: Size
Disadvantages: Spec
...I bought my first (and still only) laptop, Toshiba Portege R100, four years ago. Yes, I went completely mad and spent £1800 for a laptop with small screen (12.1"), poor resolution (1024x768), slow CPU (900MHz), just a bit of RAM (256MB DDR), tiny HDD (30GB) and no internal optic drive.
OK, it didn't sound as miserable back then as it sounds right now. I just wanted ultra portable laptop. And I got it. It weight only 1.1kg, and is only 2cm thick. Has most necessary (and couple unnecessary) bits build in, like: network card, wireless network card, modem, mono input (3.5mm), stereo output (3.5mm), two USB2.0, 15 pin VGA output, PCIMCIA II slot, SD memory card reader, docking/port replicator connection, second RAM slot for memory upgrade (up to 1256MB).
Toshiba added also second, high capacity battery (connected via port replicator...

Living with a Toshiba Libretto U100
Review of Toshiba Libretto U100 - Pentium M 753 1.2 GHz - 7.2" TFT - with docking station by
tasfalen
Advantages: Storage Speed Battery Convenience
Disadvantages: Keyboard Biometrics
...The Toshiba Libretto U100 is a sub-notebook, similar to Fujitsu's Lifebook or the trendy OQO. It packs a full-featured PC into a very small package. In this case: a Pentium M 1.2Ghz with 512MB RAM, 60GB HD and a 7.2" widescreen running Windows XP Home.
I purchased my Libretto about a month ago in preparation for traveling to a conference. A local big box store had them on clearance, including the optional dock. The dock adds a DVD multi-recorder.
Maximum power combined with maximum portability were my primary considerations in purchasing a new notebook, and I have been pleased with the Libretto. Its a unique machine, however, and not without issues relating to its novelty.
Some of the positive aspects of my experience with the Libretto:
Storage: the Libretto has a 60GB HD, unusual for a sub-notebook and a good size...

Toshiba Portege R100 Review
Review of Toshiba Portege R100 - Pentium M 733 1.1 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
bob_j4
Advantages: Wireless networking, Very Light, Very Fast, Good battery, Sensitive touch pad, Nice design
Disadvantages: Small screen, Sensitive touch pad
...I bought my laptop in march for £1,300 and it is fantastic, it is a lot better than the previous Toshiba laptop I purchased which was also very good. I am yet to find a fault with Toshiba's products and service. I damaged my old laptop twice and both imes my warranty dealt with it brilliantly. In my opinion they are second only to Sony.
Weight and size are very important to me, so this is ideal. The battery is great it lasts me 5 to six hours depending on the task, which is a lot better than any laptop I've had before. The wireless LAN is also very good, easy to set up and works a charm. The touch pad has a few little problems as it has too many functions, e.g. certain parts of it will send you back to the last internet page and other parts will scroll a page when you just want to move the cursor. I suppose it is a good feature...

Toshiba Satellite Pro A100
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 - Celeron M 360 1.4 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
yatyit14
Advantages: quite pretty, easy to use
Disadvantages: slow
...not be the model for you. As a brand Toshiba a good, i would recomend them even if you do not pick this model. There are 4 usb ports, you can use wireless internet and netweorking, it has a cd drive and apparently the ability to burn CDs and DVDs, but for some reason i havnt got mine working yet - this may just be me being stupid tho! I am not great with computer hardware, so there are lots more things that this model has that i wouldnt be able to explain,so sorry about that. The laptop is quite light compared to many other laptops. Overall, this laptop it good, if a bit slow....

Toshiba Satellite P100-112 Core Duo T2500 17" TFT
Review of Toshiba Satellite P100-112 - Core Duo T2500 2 GHz - 17" TFT by
roddersontheradio
Advantages: Brilliant trubrite screen gives pin sharp image
Disadvantages: keyboard is tight
...Recently upgraded from a Toshiba Satellite 2450 so slightly biased in favour of the brand which I've found to be robust and reliable. This baby is cuter in terms of the graphic capability especially with the 17" trubrite screen which gives a wonderfully clean image - definitely it's biggest selling point. It also has the DVD RW capability plus WiFi which are essential upgrade features. On the matter of upgrades, I like the fact that you can access the memory mode bay on the underside rather than a complex fiddle with keyboards to reach the RAM chips. Speaking of keyboards, this is my one gripe with the Pro. The keyboard's a bit tighter and I find it too easy to hit the up key instead of the Right shift key which is intently irritating. It's also not the most portable of notebooks given it's 3.2kg weight. However, this is offset...

Hertz nearly broke our Hearts
Review of Hertz by
proxam
Advantages: They rent cars
Disadvantages: sometimes
...with our luggage before engaging the Hertz staff in a full and frank exchange of views.
They wouldn't budge, they had NO cars. We could wait for someone to return a car or take the bus to Franfurt Main.
We tried the other car hire firms in the airport but no-one had anything available, so it was going to have to be Franfurt. But not on the bus.
We moseyed up to the first taxi we saw and asked if he would take us to Franfurt airport.
"Do you know how far it is?" he asked.
"What is this? a quiz?" I retorted - well, what I said was actually more like, "No I don't."
Anyway, the upshot is that it is around 80 miles from Hahn so the taxi fare was going to be on the hefty side of substantial. In fact it came to €150 or $150 or 100 of your British quids. Luckily I had a wallet stuffed full of the necessaries.
Great start...
