...itself is, well, Toshiba. I could leave it at that, it explains itself. Toshiba are in my eyes one of the best makers of TV's, they are probably vying for the top spot with Sony. I had originally had my heart set on a beautiful Sony Vega, but finding the three grand was a minor hitch. I was told by the bloke in the store (TGS Electricals, believe me they are great!) that Toshiba are just as good, they just don't have the marketing surrounding them, so you'd presume they weren't a top player. On looking at their range of TV's, and seeing them in store, I was hooked, and I am glad I didn't lose an arm and a leg to get the health insurance money to pay for a Sony! What can I say about the picture? If you, as a typical Brit, are used to a horrible little 21" TV, this thing will blow you away. The extra few inches make all the difference... Read review

I never need worry about it being collected by the bin men. It'll be long gone before then. We can guarantee one of the locals, who regularly scour the streets for unwanted electrical items, will rescue it. Before too long, it'll re-appear down at the local market where someone will make a small profit. After a bit of research, I decided to go for the Toshiba 15" 4:3, LCD, Integrated Digital TV with Freeview. Pricewise, it seemed to be very competitive and its performance was highly rated. ...The popularity of both wide screen and large screen TVs seems to be on the increase yet again, and even in my case it's a priority to acquire one. I have recently been looking around to see whats on offer at a price worthy of the product. So far I have only found two models that seem to have it all with the exception of a couple of drawbacks. Both TVs that have got my attention are from the Toshiba range, and this op is about the 37 inch surround sound model. Firstly, The drawbacks. The actual cabinet that surrounds the workings is only available in a standard dark silvery grey colour which unfortunately shows up any scratches or knocks quickly, also there are 2 drop down covers that hide various controls that I think are far below the strength required for any real last ability. ...with a dos and don'ts. Getting started tells you what you get in the box what to do when you first switch on the TV. Their is a page that numbers all the parts and tells you what each part is .There are sections for the remote control, auto setup, manual setup, teletext and connecting external equipment like, video recorder, dvd recorder, Satallite, camcorders and computer. If you do have any problems there is a help page and a Toshiba helpline number. SCREEN *********** Size 14inches to check this measure diagonally from one corner of the screen to the other corner. The screen hardly gets any reflections on it due to its flat screen and you can watch it at quite a big angle. Picture quality is fantastic, colours are life like and sound is very good. At that time, the cheapest plasma screen television was about £3000. Having researched extensively on the different widescreen televisions available before my purchase, I decided to go for the Toshiba 36". The main factor influencing my decision was the fact that it looked so good! At the time, all other brands of these widescreen televisions had at least a 3 inch border around the screen which makes them look huge. I discovered that television sets have moved on considerably since 1980 and choosing a new television meant embarking on a fairly steep learning curve. I navigated my way through the bewildering maze of new technology, puzzled over the meaning of flat and wide screens and the science of the analogue and digital -and - what on earth was Nicam stereo and scart sockets? Alongside the enormous variations in size and technology of televisions was the price. I was amazed to discover that some televisions cost up to an incredible £8,000. ...After deciding my poxy 20 inch tv was too small for the living room I went shopping for a replacement. I visited my local Dixons and spent half an hour looking at the various sets they had on offer. The massive projection TVs caught my eye and I immediately fell in love with the 42” Toshiba. It looked superior to the other projection sets there and was an absolute bargain. I paid £899 for mine but recently have found it selling for £849. It is fantastic value for money, where else are you going to get 42 inches for less then £850? I thought about buying the equivalent plasma set, but at more then three times the price I decided to go for the projection. It was delivered 3 days later and was that big I couldn’t get it out of the box without cutting down the side of it. It took all of 2 minutes to set it up and away we went... Read review

...An excellent purchase and easily recommended for that short list of possible HD T.V I bought 1 of these fine T.V's just over a month ago and i'm very impressed with the performance of Toshiba's new flat panel LCD. At 37" the screen size was ideal for my requirements as the 32" was just too small and a screen of 40 inch plus was too big. Picture quality is sublime with rich and vivid colours and the black level is the best i've seen(which is very difficult to achieve in LCD technology),and it's very close to the levels of a good quality Plasma display. The T.V was very easy to set-up straight out of the box thanks to the easy to understand menu's and was up and running with-in 5 minutes. ...This review is for the Toshiba Satellite Pro m30 Harman Kardon styled laptop.I will not say what I paid as it was a special price and not generally available. I have had this laptop for approx. 9 months. I use this laptop mainly for wireless connection to the WWW from my lounge, I am writing this review on it now. The first things I look for in a laptop or a desktop come to that is how it interfaces with me rather than performance. This laptop is good. The screen is 15".4" and is superb except when outdoors in the sun but then that is to be expected. There is quite a lot of brightness control to suit most people. The characters are clear and crisp, it is not as good as a high quality CRT monitor but that is also to be expected. The keyboard is also good and although I am not a great fan of laptop keyboards I get on well... Read review

The Choice... Well there were quite a few to choose from, however, I chose to buy from Argos as it was most convenient. I finally came to the decision that I would buy the Toshiba 15V31, and I've got to admit that I'm not the best person to make big decisions so Luke had to be consulted and hence unfortunately he now knows what his Christmas present is! The specifications... Finished in a matt silver design with a flat screen, this TV looks really modern and wouldnt look out of place in any room... It has a 15" flat screen, measured diagonally.
