Illogical, Captain....
Review of Toshiba 28N33B by
grc001
Advantages: Functional
Disadvantages: Some annoying niggles
...A decent, functional TV, but with no particular shining good points. Unfortunately, a number of annoying design flaws spoil it.
Switch on is a 2-step process; press the on-off switch, and I normally expect that a TV will power up with the last selected channel as the active one; the Toshiba powers up to Standby status, and awaits further channel selection before it will play ball. It won't allow you to directly select one of the AV inputs from Standby, only a 'regular' TV channel. For the situation where all input is coming from AV equipment (Freeview, DVD etc) this can get a touch wearing.
Selection of the AV inputs is frustrated by the TV choosing to skip over any AV input where it doesn't detect any input; i.e. try and select AV2 where a DVD player is connected, and if you haven't switched the DVD player on yet, the Toshiba...

Slim Toshiba DVD player performs well
Review of Toshiba SD340E by
bowdeni
Advantages: Multi Region, Good picture, slim, durable
Disadvantages: No Scart, not a recorder
...DVD was launched commercial over 10 years ago. The major manufacturers made the mistake of not licensing the technology appropriately and subsequently the cost of DVD players has fallen dramatically within the past 5 years. Some people may find it hard to justify the cost of a DVD player when they can picked up for £30, but I am going to write this review to communicate the advantages of having a medium range quality DVD player.
So firstly, why Toshiba? Toshiba have an excellant reputation for producing quality products for a great price. There are some manufacturers such as Sony, that in my opinion rely too much on their brand image to sell the good. Toshiba both provide an excellant product, more importantly quality and value. 'What hifi' have for many years ranked Toshiba as the best budget DVD player, and the Toshiba SD340E itself...

Toshiba A200 - 195
Review of Toshiba Satellite A200-195 Laptop by
JJS77
Advantages: Light, Fast, Looks nice, Reliable, Value.
Disadvantages: Doesn't have a built in webcam or Bluetooth connectivity.
...I first started investigating laptops in August as I wanted to take a laptop with me to university. My main requirements was that it was to be fast enough to handle most programs so that it doesn't leave me sitting around waiting to take notes or finish a task as well as remaining portable and more importantly good value for money. I am interested in computers and am doing a computer based course, so I thought I would have to budget form around £600 - £800 for a good performing laptop, as I was going on what my friends had paid for their laptops. I was also aware that after researching a bit on the internet, I found that when you buy a laptop its important that its from a good manufacturer e.g. Acer's apparently are unreliable, Compaq's are slow performing and Sony's tend to be out of most peoples price range. However Toshiba was the one...

Toshiba Satellite M30 - Good Lookin Machine
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 - Pentium M 1.7 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
terence638l
Advantages: Fast, lots of features, easy to use
Disadvantages: Problems with internal modem, infra red port has short range
...mobil centrino processor
- nVIDIA graphics card
- microphone and headset jacks
These are all the features that at least I can tell just through my experience with it. There may be more!!!
Aesthetics:
The Toshiba satellite has a cool silver frosted look all around. When you open up the laptop, you are greeted by the same silver frosted look framing the keyboard which is in a nice black colour matching the silver décor. Above the keyboard is the two Harman kardon speakers circular in shape and framed by black circular rings like two eyes staring at you. To the left of the keypad is the power switch with a blue led indicating whether it is on or off, once again, smartly matching the décor of the silver look! The button itself is chrome with three smaller thin rectangular, chrome buttons beneath it. These are the hotkey buttons which...

To Infinity and Beyond, Toshiba R200 Laptop
Review of Toshiba Portege R200 - Pentium M 753 1.2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
skrg28
Advantages: Build Quality, Light, Small
Disadvantages: None as yet
...to the small screen but I have no had any woes there either. Leaving it running for hours on end seems to have no effect, no noisy fans and no excessive heat.
If you dig one of these out in the aiport lounge then your a god.
The one that really got me was the warranty. You get a full 3 year manufacturers warranty with the latop, something you would normally have to pay extra for from other manufacturers. Toshiba suppor is always 2nd to none for laptops. You also get a full set of manuals already installed on the PC along with a variety of backup applications that run on your behalf.

Toss out this Toshiba
Review of Toshiba Satellite 1800-204 - C 1 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
funphobic2
Advantages: Compact, good hard drive space and processing speed
Disadvantages: Its durability, and has become out-dated
...I’ve never really been interested in laptops, I’m more of a desktop girl myself, but when moving to university 3 years ago and having to live in a studio flat, my desktop just took up too much space. So I needed a laptop. Unfortunately, I had spent a lot of my loan on clothes and holiday’s (as you do!) so I had to find something on the cheaper side. Luckily I know a little about computers and knew pretty much what I needed; something compact, but with good processing speed and a large hard drive. So I went about my laptop shopping….
***Why I chose Toshiba***
I popped into the Dixons in Watford and they had a couple of ex-display models on sale. I came across a Toshiba satellite 1800-204. I noticed a few people had a Toshiba Satellite notebook, and so it caught my eye immediately. It was made in 1999, and basic specs include...

Toshiba Portege 3500 - Best of breed, but heavy
Review of Toshiba Portege 3500 - PIII-M 1.33 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
maxmidnight
Advantages: Robust, powerful, functionally superior to the competition. All you could ask for from a tablet pc.
Disadvantages: Can get hot, but nothing to worry about, battery life shorter than with other models (3.5hrs), heavier than the competition making it awkward for the true mobile user.
...Over the past few months, I have been evaluating and rolling out tablet PC's across my organisation within the Health industry. My evaluation has covered the HP Compaq TC1100, the Motion M1200, the Fujitsu Stylistic ST4120, and the Toshiba Portégé 3500. What follows is a brief discussion of the Toshiba Portege 3500 which I hope will give users some guidance and prove informative.
Of all the tablet PC's currently on the market the Toshiba Portégé 3500 has the best performance of all the systems because it uses the Intel Pentium III-M 1.33 GHz processor and a fast hard drive. Perhaps as a consequence of the faster processor, the Toshiba is also the hottest and noisiest; it is the only Tablet PC I have used which utilises a case fan. Furthermore, it has the shortest battery life (3:05 versus 3:25 for the top-scoring Fujitsu). Unlike...

Toshiba 29 inch TV - A Beast
Review of Toshiba 2987DB by
cash40
Advantages: Quality overall piece. Very worthy of it's price tag
Disadvantages: They don't have the name of Sony
...This is a beast. No doubt about it.
So, the TV I've got is a 29" non-widescreen, with the full trimmings of Dolby Surround Sound, and a Toshiba VCR to boot.
The whole kaboodle comes as a single unit, with the tv sitting atop a sturdy charcoal colored stand which has shelves underneath for the VCR and two other things, such as a sky box and a playstation. The whole thing as a unit looks impressive in its own right. It has that kind of urban techie aura to it but with a bit more beef, this thing really stands tall and proud. Of course, you could lock the TV away in a nice wooden cabinet or something, but I wouldn't want to hide it away I'm proud of my huge ominous box looming in the corner.
Of course, a powerful design is all well and good, but it would be handy if I told you about the wonders that lie beneath.
The TV...
