...If quality and style is what you are looking for then the Samsung LE32R74BDX 32" HD is the TV for you. This screen is one of the better looking on the market and looks great both on the side with the supplied stand or mounted on the wall (wall mount not supplied). The picture quality is phenomenal. The TV has DNIe (Digital Natural Image engine) which helps to 'step up' the inputted source. This means a great quality pictures even from my DVD player connected through one of the two scart sockets and from the built in freeview receiver. This negates the need to update a DVD player for one with a HDMI connection. The screen produces up to 12.8 billion colours and has a contrast ratio of 5000:1 giving great definition between light and dark. The colours seem more vibrant, most notable in children's television. The sounds is considerably better and clearer. Last night I watched Planet Earth on BBC 1 ( how good was that? simply stunning) and the quality of the picture and sound was fantastic. *** Freeview **** No I'm not referring to those people who hang around outside my window sneaking a look at my television. No in fact this television had a built in freeview tuner which means I benefit from about an extra 40 channels. To be frank most of these are useless and show poor quality programmes or repeats. ...After spending four months looking for an LCD TV under £500, getting totally confused by all the reviews on various sites and forums, we eventually bit the bullet and ordered the Toshiba 32WL66 last week. We've only had it a few days so it is early days but so far so good. Firstly the price, I think this originally sold for up to £1100 but as Toshiba have now brought out a newer model, it can be picked up for just under £500. To be honest it is mostly the price that swung it for me, most of the other TVs at that sort of price are brands I'd never heard of and whilst some had decent reviews, I wasn't totally comfortable getting such a TV. ...It is now 2 weeks since I bought my first LCD, HD ready TV. This was a beautiful Sony KDL-32V2500, part of the V-series from Sony, which also includes 40” and 46” models. I have put a lot of research into this purchase, as this is an expensive item and in the end I chose this particular model. I read a lot of reviews, checked the manufacturers websites for technical specifications and spent hours (or, more likely, days) in Sony/Panasonic/Toshiba shops, as well as in Dixons or Currys, to see the difference in picture quality. I was never to buy from a shop though, as the prices are so much higher than in the online shops (hundred of pounds difference). I never need worry about it being collected by the bin men. It'll be long gone before then. We can guarantee one of the locals, who regularly scour the streets for unwanted electrical items, will rescue it. Before too long, it'll re-appear down at the local market where someone will make a small profit. After a bit of research, I decided to go for the Toshiba 15" 4:3, LCD, Integrated Digital TV with Freeview. Pricewise, it seemed to be very competitive and its performance was highly rated. Advantages: flat lcd screen, good sound, mounts on wall.
Disadvantages: motion blur watching fast moving objects

...of a player or the ball you get a ghosting or motion blur, this is because the TV only has a 25ms response time. LCD tv's are best under 15ms, but how often would you watch sport on a 14" TV. Teletext is easy to use with the remote which includes fasttext. Another television from Toshiba that they can be proud of, looks good easy to use and fantastic to watch. Thanks for reading... ...Just after Christmas I felt it was high time I got myself a new TV. The old tube TV was beginning to show it's age, and the range of sleek black Samsung LCD TV's caught my eye. I made the order, and soon after a beautiful, stylish television arrived at my house. 32 inches of great picture quality. I plugged it in, plugged in my HDMI cable to DVD player and first checked out a BBC natural history DVD. The first thing I noticed was that the clarity and colour depth was incredible straight out of the box. Nature has never looked so beautiful on a screen! It was fairly painless to begin changing colour settings, and i'd soon set up a preset by using the samsungs easy to understand menu. So far so good. After switching to TV mode, a quick glance at the user manual explained how to tune in my terrestrial TV, and less than 15 minutes... Read review

Having a considerably large screen, , the quality of picture does not decline at all, as some screen's unfortunately do.. Crystal clear sound. A simple, Realistic set up, With no pulling out hair activity!. And addition to all of that, It has a silver, Super modern funky look, to accessorise your living room. ...We purchased our toshiba 32" lcd tv 6 months ago now and continue to be very pleased with it,one of the main reasons for us purchasing this t.v was we wanted the style,features ie hd ready,size,etc but not having to break the bank,after many trips to currys,dixons,comet etc and checking out almost every tv within our price range £500-£650 we decided that the toshiba ticked all the right boxes,with a sale price of £529.00 It was generally easy to install and if you follow the on-screen menus you cannot really go wrong. Unfortunataly on the back there are only 2 scart connections a pain when you have a sky+box,a dvd player & seperate vcr,and when the kids want to play their game consoles you have to use the yellow,red & white connections on the side,(we are currently saving for sky hd box which iam hoping will free one of the scarts...
