...After spending four months looking for an LCD TV under £500, getting totally confused by all the reviews on various sites and forums, we eventually bit the bullet and ordered the Toshiba 32WL66 last week. We've only had it a few days so it is early days but so far so good. Firstly the price, I think this originally sold for up to £1100 but as Toshiba have now brought out a newer model, it can be picked up for just under £500. To be honest it is mostly the price that swung it for me, most of the other TVs at that sort of price are brands I'd never heard of and whilst some had decent reviews, I wasn't totally comfortable getting such a TV. ...) and I have to say it has really improved my experience of watching films. In regards to television transmissions I feel the quality is good but I only had a very old Toshiba before. The colours seem more vibrant, most notable in children's television. The sounds is considerably better and clearer. Last night I watched Planet Earth on BBC 1 ( how good was that? simply stunning) and the quality of the picture and sound was fantastic. *** Freeview **** No I'm not referring to those people who hang around outside my window sneaking a look at my television. No in fact this television had a built in freeview tuner which means I benefit from about an extra 40 channels. To be frank most of these are useless and show poor quality programmes or repeats. ...We purchased our toshiba 32" lcd tv 6 months ago now and continue to be very pleased with it,one of the main reasons for us purchasing this t.v was we wanted the style,features ie hd ready,size,etc but not having to break the bank,after many trips to currys,dixons,comet etc and checking out almost every tv within our price range £500-£650 we decided that the toshiba ticked all the right boxes,with a sale price of £529.00 It was generally easy to install and if you follow the on-screen menus you cannot really go wrong. Unfortunataly on the back there are only 2 scart connections a pain when you have a sky+box,a dvd player & seperate vcr,and when the kids want to play their game consoles you have to use the yellow,red & white connections on the side,(we are currently saving for sky hd box which iam hoping will free one of the scarts... ...If quality and style is what you are looking for then the Samsung LE32R74BDX 32" HD is the TV for you. This screen is one of the better looking on the market and looks great both on the side with the supplied stand or mounted on the wall (wall mount not supplied). The picture quality is phenomenal. The TV has DNIe (Digital Natural Image engine) which helps to 'step up' the inputted source. This means a great quality pictures even from my DVD player connected through one of the two scart sockets and from the built in freeview receiver. This negates the need to update a DVD player for one with a HDMI connection. The screen produces up to 12.8 billion colours and has a contrast ratio of 5000:1 giving great definition between light and dark. ...I was looking to upgrade my tv and saw this Toshiba 32zp48 and instantly loved the look of it. the TV comes with an in built dolby digital decoder with both co-axial and optical connections. 4 external speakers add to the effects of and film / program encoded with DD. the TV has 3 scart sockets in total two of which are RGB the TV is not too big as the side speakers have been placed at the bottom of the tv instead of on the side of the screen this give it a more sleek design and does not look to big in a small room. The set up itself was a doddle and from the box arriving to watching only took me 35 minutes inc putting up the stand. you get no dot crawl on the picture and the TV comes with 2 RGB scart inputs, which was the main reason for buying the Toshiba in the first place, so my Sky box and DVD player could both... ...The Toshiba 32Z17B is a beast of a TV, however saying that, it is of a pretty high standard, has an excellent picture quality to it especially as it’s only a 50 hertz, along with the sound which is Dolby Pro-Logic/Dolby Surround. The TV itself weighs a ton, don’t even bother trying to lift it by yourself, unless you want to slip a disc or something, it also does take up quite some room, so again, don’t bother if you have a small place, unless your focal point is your TV. ...INTRODUCTION Toshiba have always been an excellent brand, along with a brilliant product portfolio (diverse range of products.) This product is a real treat: I use it ti watch HD (High Definition) movies, play games on HD ,watch home-movies I have made on my Toshiba Camileo Pro Camcorder and even use it to surf the net sometimes, instead of my Sony KDL. RANGE OF FEATURES Features of the Toshiba 42Z3030D (Z series): This product has 3 HDMI inputs, PC connectivity, along with 2 Scarts, Component and Composite video inputs, S-video input (in this day and age it is certainly an excellently designed product with all features of a successful LCD tv.) ...I have been looking for an LCD TV for some time to replace my Phillips 28" CRT which is still good quality but takes up a lot of space in my 3m x 3.5m entertainment room. Decided on a 32" as the viewing distance is about 2.5m. I decided to plan for the future and get an LCD with 2 HDMI sockets to accomodate a Sky HD and a DVD connection. Reviewing the usual magazines and on-line sources, the Toshiba looked to be the best quality with the facilities I needed, at the sort of price that I wanted to pay, which was around £699 at the time I first looked, around October 2006. ...It is now 2 weeks since I bought my first LCD, HD ready TV. This was a beautiful Sony KDL-32V2500, part of the V-series from Sony, which also includes 40” and 46” models. I have put a lot of research into this purchase, as this is an expensive item and in the end I chose this particular model. I read a lot of reviews, checked the manufacturers websites for technical specifications and spent hours (or, more likely, days) in Sony/Panasonic/Toshiba shops, as well as in Dixons or Currys, to see the difference in picture quality. I was never to buy from a shop though, as the prices are so much higher than in the online shops (hundred of pounds difference).
