...this end of line 27" widescreen lcd flat television and just had to buy it. The only trouble was, that being end of line meant that you could not order it for delivery, so I did a search of all my local stores until I found one and we reserved it for collection the next day. My husband came home with the tv, we unpacked it and installed it so easily, it was a dream. The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV. The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. From what I have read online, this television was retailing at around £600 originially, but at the moment, all of the LCD televisions seem to be 26 or 30/32 inches, so it looks like they are phasing out the 27" ones. The purple haze in one corner had become something of a quirky trait to the X-Factor but it was annoying none-the-less. So we scoured the internet and found some good prices for LCD TV's. ...An excellent purchase and easily recommended for that short list of possible HD T.V I bought 1 of these fine T.V's just over a month ago and i'm very impressed with the performance of Toshiba's new flat panel LCD. At 37" the screen size was ideal for my requirements as the 32" was just too small and a screen of 40 inch plus was too big. Picture quality is sublime with rich and vivid colours and the black level is the best i've seen(which is very difficult to achieve in LCD technology),and it's very close to the levels of a good quality Plasma display. The T.V was very easy to set-up straight out of the box thanks to the easy to understand menu's and was up and running with-in 5 minutes. ...FXA 32 laptop), I thought the installation of RockBox software might resolve issues I had with iTunes, but found to my pleasant surprise that by loading CD's (albums) that I had ripped with archived files, Gracenote recognized about 70% of them without having to list the files individually (i.e. "matched" them), but was no big deal. In fact, you can really make up an album name and list whatever archived files you want and install the tunes into the Gigabeat Room software. The bottom line is that I've been able rip CD's without issue. Sure, the navigating is clunky, but considering the wasted time spent with the iPod, am pleased that my major objectives were met with the Toshiba F40. I may try to install RockBox eventually, if it's as it's cracked up to be, but for now, am satisfied with this unit as is.... Read review

...Having been impressed with the improved quality when I ditched my old CRT computer monitor for an LCD model it was only going to be a matter of time before I would replace the televisions in my house with LCD systems, the picture is so much crisper and the colours a truer reflection of their real selves. With full size LCD televisions costing the best part of one thousand pounds I decided to update my bedroom portable first just to make absolutely sure I was still enamoured by the improvement these displays give, and so it was that I popped into my local independent electronics shop and parted with the £400 necessary to make the Toshiba 17WL46B my own.
