Toshiba Satellite Pro A60
Advantages: Sturdy design Nice Blue colour Get a lot for your money
Disadvantages: Overheating/crashing problems experienced Memory upgrade was necessary Required a lot of tweaking to get 'right'
...The Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 laptop is ideal for entry level home users, and possibly students who have some time on their hands to sort stuff out. I wouldn't say it was suitable for the lower end of the business market, as Toshiba seem to be targeting with this product. I could be wrong however, maybe I was just unlucky!
I have had mine for 8 months now, after previous satellite old faithful, which I had owned for about 7 years, gave up the ghost in the middle of a project, and I needed a cheap laptop quickly. I was impressed by the blue design which veers away from the boring black/grey you're used to seeing on the budget end notebooks.
For the budget it was a toss up between this or a Dell, and in the end I decided to go for the Tosh which wasn't the bottom end of the scale like the Dell was for the same money.
Due to...

Typical Toshiba
Advantages: Ease of use, memory capacity
Disadvantages: Quality, feel, value for money
...The Toshiba Satellite L500 is the same as most other toshiba laptops. It looks stylish and can do all the basic functions that you would want for a laptop. However, when you use it, you dont feel very comfortable because it feels very cheap. The keyboard is very flimsy and feels like it is about to break every time you type something and the mouse pad and buttons do not respond well. However, the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard is great as it makes it so easy to type numbers. You can buy this laptop with a range of processors and sizes of harddrive so you can choose the one which suits you best. The display is actually very good but the battery life could have been improved. On my model it will last for a maximum of 2.5 hours on its lowest power setting.
Overall, this laptop is reasonable at most things but not...

Review of Toshiba Eqium A60 Laptop
Advantages: * Fast and nippy, nice look and feel, good software package, excellent support from Toshiba!
Disadvantages: * The battery life is poor and the base of the laptop gets extremely hot!
...I enjoyed this phone as it works well and has lots of funcionality. My best phone yet! I have never used a phone which offered such a good price to features ration ever and I am glad thta I purchased this phone for the tiny price of £60, wh9ich in my mind was a complete bargain in reality to how much you could pay for a phone these days.
In conclusion, an excellent phone with all of the features you would ever need, 1.3 megapixel camera, great TFT screen, excellent music and mp3 player, lous speakers, lots of cool 3d games to play on!
If you want a cheap phone at a reasonable price, then go and get this phone, it will not let you down at all. Superb vaue phone!...

My Siemens A60... A Bargain
Advantages: Value for money, colour screen, easy to use
Disadvantages: The cancel button
...I recently purchased my siemens A60 at the link. It was £60 on the orange network and included 5 texts free per day for a year. If you buy the text saver deal on other phones it costs £20 a year, so to get it free made the phone even more value for money.
Setting up my phone was relatively easy, with easy to follow instructions in the booklet. I did try to set it up online on the orange site but had problems as it kept restarting. When I rang the orange company to activate it the operator asked me about 10 questions and told me what to do with my phone to activate it as well as text saver. His instructions were clear and concise and soon I had my phone in working order.
My A60 is black (covers are not yet available in the UK), with a colour display of 101 x 80 pixel, which is actually fairly big for a mobile. It can be used...

Toshiba Equium
Advantages: Value For money
Disadvantages: No Bluetooth
...i first bought a Toshiba around about 4 or 5 years ago, it was a toshiba tecra m3, it was a lovely laptop until i dropped it and broke it, i decided that i would replace it with another toshiba because of the previous good reliability i had got from the machine, i thing that attracted me to this laptop was firstly the fact it was an operating system upgrade for me and secondly the superior specifications, the only down side being that there is no integrated bluetooth and trusted security platform, i found that the offers that were available at the time of purchase were very reasonable and i feel i got great value for money, i also think that the designer of this laptop has taken very great care with the general look and feel of the laptop and have put a lot of thought into the hardware they have supplied and it holds pride of place...

Canon Power Shot A60 - a very user-friendly digital camera
Advantages: Ease of use, quality, versatility, robust construction, good instructions, good value
Disadvantages: Quite heavy on batteries
...I have owned this digital camera for two years now and it has been a real 'friend'. Absolutely no operating problems and very neat and convenient to carry around without being too small.
I am a big guy with large hands and find the current obsession with smaller and smaller products quite frustrating, (hence I have a rather larger than average mobile and I will not buy anything with tiny keys). The Canon A60 is ideal for me as it has the feel of a good solid product and has just enough options on it - settings for a variety of lighting conditions and manual and automatic options. You can take a short video on it too. It is, of course, compatible with computers. It takes solid memory cards, for which I use a Packard Bell card reader with the computer. The only shortcoming of this camera is that it is fairly heavy on batteries (four...

Used to hate it... it grew on me.
Advantages: Good looking, has Wi-Fi, Infrared, DVD burner and... thats it really...
Disadvantages: Heavy, underperforms, short battery life, runs hot, speakers sound like pie dishes.
...have to consider what features consumers would like such as WiFi, Bluetooth, HD displays and indeed a good sound system. The majority of laptops are plagued with tinny speakers and this brings me nicely onto the Toshiba A60 Equium notebook computer. As you may have guessed, the speakers are tinny and the sound quality is just far from satisfactory - Booming speakers do not fit inside laptop housing.
The Toshiba A60 usually runs pretty hot, depending on the applications running. After half an hour or harsh internet surfing or using processor heavy applications the CPU fan speeds up to produce a ghastly whirring noise. Toshiba provides software to allow you to control the cooling level and CPU level - or something - to help the user choose between higher performance or longer battery life, the latter of which gives a cooler running...

Save up some dosh to buy this Tosh...iba
Advantages: Fast, Portable, Comfortable and Sleek, HD Resolution, Toshiba support is brilliant!
Disadvantages: Awful grapics card, Not very durable, Speaker volume isn't fab...
...that law legal. So the laptop, it's got plenty of positives and only a few negatives. And if you've read my other reviews, I like to get the negatives out of the way first.
NEGATIVES
I'll get straight to the point, the graphics card is seriously bad, there's no way around it. It's a new thing where your computers RAM is used to power some of the graphics, like video and pictures. However this won't work with high-end games like the Call of Duty series or Crysis. This however, isn't a laptop you'd buy if you were wanting one for gaming, so it's not a major draw back. Another bad point is the durability, which isn't great. The lid can be pushed in, revealing it is fairly hollow apart from the screen and its components. I thought this a bit stupid as Toshiba are just wasting money making more material, why not just make it thin and tight guys...

A nice little bargain !
Advantages: Easily picked up cheaply
Disadvantages: Can suffer from overheating
...I recently bought one of these laptops for £25 pounds second hand.
The specs on the machine are fine enough, a Intel Celeron 2.8Ghz chip is a very nice processor, the laptop has 700MB ram rather than the standard 256MB, there is a 40GB hard disk drive in the machine. DVD-RAM re-recorder drive. The graphics adapter is a ATI Mobility 7000. It works very well for 3d games like Enemy Territory, or Battlefield 1942.
There is a Synaptics touchpad with two buttons.
Battery life is around 2 hours in normal use, or 2.5 hours if the brightness is reduced a little.
Toshiba keyboards have always been really comfortable to use, this one is no exception, the keys are very quiet, but they do give your fingers feedback that they have been pressed.
By default, the laptop comes with Windows XP Homne Edition, so I quickly formatted that and installed...
