Toshiba A200 - 195
Review of Toshiba Satellite A200-195 Laptop by
JJS77
Advantages: Light, Fast, Looks nice, Reliable, Value.
Disadvantages: Doesn't have a built in webcam or Bluetooth connectivity.
...brand that I had heard nothing but praise for, whether it was their reliability, good value, high build quality and good battery performance. So I carried on researching for about 3 weeks as it was a major purchase for me to go to university with, as my student budget hardly stretches over the necessities as it is. I found myself eliminating a lot of the manufacturers from my comparisons due to reliability issues and general feel of the laptops for example a HP laptop's touchpad just doesn't feel right to me, it feels cheap and sticky, it's a personal opinion but it's a laptop so the user is stuck using the peripherals installed on it e.g. touchpad and keyboard. I was aware that the best deals are to be had online, and thought I'd settle on a Toshiba, preferably one from the Satellite range, as they seem to be the good performance ones...

Toss out this Toshiba
Review of Toshiba Satellite 1800-204 - C 1 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
funphobic2
Advantages: Compact, good hard drive space and processing speed
Disadvantages: Its durability, and has become out-dated
...and a picture guide for those (like myself) who don’t have the patience to read through all of the written guides.
***Support***
I’ve never needed to call Toshiba about anything as my brother is extremely computer literate, but I’ve heard mainly positive comments about the Toshiba technical support system. If you did lose any info or drivers, browse through the website to download the drivers.
http://uk.computers.toshibaeurope.com/cgibin/ToshibaCSG/csgnationalentrypage.jsp?service=UK&from=http%3A//www.toshiba.co.uk/
***Overall advantages***
The biggest pro’s for the laptop are its design; Firstly, it is light. At 2.6kg (including battery), which is ideal for taking to work or university. Along with the power adapter and the bag, it comes to about 3.1kg in total. Overall size is 31.7 x 27.9. x 3.9 cm quite small compared with some...

Toshiba E740 - Good in Theory?
Review of Toshiba Pocket PC E740 by
bluerose28
Advantages: New 400Mhz processor**Good neat design**64Mb in-built memory
Disadvantages: Cannot support Pocket PC 2003**A bit buggy
...Toshiba E740, one of the first pocket pcs to have the power of Intel PXA250 400 MHz, does sound impressive, doesn't it? It has a smooth silver metal design, is compact and supports pocket pc 2002. It has a digital voice recorder, pocket word and excel, all the standard pocket pc programs in the included installation cd.
**The E740 comes with a CF (Compact Flash) Slot, and an SD Slot for memory.
There are 4 buttons and a small silver directional pad on the very front of the pocket pc, below the screen. The other buttons are along the edges of this device, including the recorder's button, which is unwittingly pressed when the device happens to press against anything (in a bag, in your pocket), turning it on and recording you without you knowing, draining the battery.
You also press the buttons by mistake when trying to get...

Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 - Pentium M 1.7 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
terence638l
Advantages: Fast, lots of features, easy to use
Disadvantages: Problems with internal modem, infra red port has short range
...The Toshiba satellite m30 pro is a thin and sleek laptop matching the looks and requirements for todays busy and on the move users. It is literally a desktop computer packed into a small, light and easy to use 1.6GHZ, 60 Gb memory HDD and 512 MB RAM machine. I have found it not only easy to use but also fun and hassle free most of the time. (With most problems the occasional usual thing that you get with computers)

To Infinity and Beyond, Toshiba R200 Laptop
Review of Toshiba Portege R200 - Pentium M 753 1.2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
skrg28
Advantages: Build Quality, Light, Small
Disadvantages: None as yet
....
The R200 arrived in its original Toshiba packing. Opening the box up you find that Toshiba send you what you need and not 100 CD's of trial software and AOL internet. Inside the packaging you get the laptop, Recovery CD, Power Supply and a manual.
The actual laptop is shrink wrapped to a sturdy piece of cardboard and is secured well enough to keep it safe.
QUALITY
Now my next surprise was touching the laptop for the first time. I honestly couldn't believe how light the unit was. If you turned the cardboard back over so that you couldn't see the laptop you would all most think that the laptop wasn't there. The R200 weighs in at a light 1.29Kg. Nothing.
DETAIL
The power supply is tiny on this. At last a small laptop with an even smaller power supply. The battery is a Lithium Ion with around 5 hours operating time depending on what your...

Toshiba Portege 3500 - Best of breed, but heavy
Review of Toshiba Portege 3500 - PIII-M 1.33 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
maxmidnight
Advantages: Robust, powerful, functionally superior to the competition. All you could ask for from a tablet pc.
Disadvantages: Can get hot, but nothing to worry about, battery life shorter than with other models (3.5hrs), heavier than the competition making it awkward for the true mobile user.
...Over the past few months, I have been evaluating and rolling out tablet PC's across my organisation within the Health industry. My evaluation has covered the HP Compaq TC1100, the Motion M1200, the Fujitsu Stylistic ST4120, and the Toshiba Portégé 3500. What follows is a brief discussion of the Toshiba Portege 3500 which I hope will give users some guidance and prove informative.
Of all the tablet PC's currently on the market the Toshiba Portégé 3500 has the best performance of all the systems because it uses the Intel Pentium III-M 1.33 GHz processor and a fast hard drive. Perhaps as a consequence of the faster processor, the Toshiba is also the hottest and noisiest; it is the only Tablet PC I have used which utilises a case fan. Furthermore, it has the shortest battery life (3:05 versus 3:25 for the top-scoring Fujitsu). Unlike...
