...When preparing a PowerPoint presentation, unless you intend to attach your laptop to a very large wall mounted video screen or television you will require a projector of some description to enable those in the audience to actually see images and read any text. In my line of business it is of the utmost importance that clients and other members of staff can see the charts we present and read through the sometimes quite detailed business plans we prepare. Our two new conference rooms are now equipped with the Toshiba TDP S35 projector, a relative bargain purchase for only 420 Euros (approximately £300). I cannot comment on the actual decision to purchase these projectors over the other brands and models available on the market as I had no hand within the decision making process, but I will provide my opinion on what they are like to use... ...Toshiba 57HX83 There are different types of Widescreen TV's out there, and all have their own good things about them. The Widescreen TV's that use newer DLP or LCoS technology are great, since they are lower maintenance, however the initial cost of them can be pretty high. The Toshiba 57HX83 still uses the old CRT technology, but for a much lower price, you can still enjoy great High Definition viewing. I've already gotten spoiled with HD, after only owning this set for a couple weeks now. Watching standard broadcasts just does not cut it anymore. Would this suit everyone, probably not, since the size can be a problem for some people. Depending on the size of the room it will be used in, the set can take up a lot of space. ...DVD was launched commercial over 10 years ago. The major manufacturers made the mistake of not licensing the technology appropriately and subsequently the cost of DVD players has fallen dramatically within the past 5 years. Some people may find it hard to justify the cost of a DVD player when they can picked up for £30, but I am going to write this review to communicate the advantages of having a medium range quality DVD player. So firstly, why Toshiba? Toshiba have an excellant reputation for producing quality products for a great price. There are some manufacturers such as Sony, that in my opinion rely too much on their brand image to sell the good. Toshiba both provide an excellant product, more importantly quality and value.
