Good value memory
Review of Corsair Value Select DRAM 256 MB PC3200 by  sillylizard

Advantages: Upgrading memory is best way to improve performance
Disadvantages: You must make sure you get the correct type of memory!

...If you are running windows XP you really need minimum of 128Mb, but you will notice a big improvement with extra memory. Adding 256Mb can give your computer that bit more speed for everyday computing use. If you are intending on handling photos etc thought you really should look at 512Mb and 1Gb (1024Mb), particularly for the price difference. Memory is also probably the simplest thing to upgrade inside a computer, it takes only a couple of minutes to insert the chip and then you are ready to go. In general, no settings need altering in your computer (since it already has some memory, it now just has more, unlike when its faced with an entirely new device). When upgrading memory you must check exactly which type you need: First check that you have some slots free. If not then it will involve removing one of the existing chips... Read review

MSI Megastick 256mb
Review of MSI MegaStick 256 256 MB by  hes_quadraphonic

Advantages: Size, Logos, Bundled Accesories, Durability, FM Radio, Voice Recorder, Microphone, Battery Life
Disadvantages: Limitied Capacity. USB 1.1

...it easy to take songs around friends houses and copy songs too and from it. There arent many disadvantages to this player. Perhaps the main one is the capacity. ---------CAPACITY-------- Unfortunatly the capactiy is only 256mb, and flash based drives go up to 2GB or perhaps even 4GB now. As this is only 256mb you can fit around 30 songs on it in normal quality 128kbps, but if you compress them you can get around 80 on there. I have to warn you though, compressed songs played back on this player sound terrible. You really notice the difference in quality. ----------USB 1.1---------- Unfortunatly. the player is USB 1.1, this means that its 40x slower than that of USB 2, so if you're transfering 256mb of data in one go, go away, make a cup of tea and come back, if you're lucky it might be done. If not, go and take a power nap, recharge... Read review

MuVo 256MB NX - a great little MP3 Player!
Review of Creative Nomad MuVo NX 256 MB by  TonyOg

Advantages: Very good sound quality, easy to use, great battery life
Disadvantages: battery case easy broken, dodgy wrist strap :-o

...the player, you need to either download your tracks as MP3s from the Internet, or use the software supplied to "rip" (ie convert) your fave CD's into the MP3 files needed by the MuVo. When you have "ripped" the tracks you want, you then simply plug the MuVo into your computers USB port and copy the MP3 files across to it using Windows explorer. The 256MB MuVo can hold around 50 average tracks. (Incidentally, you can copy ANY type of computer file onto the MuVo making it a mini hard disk!). When the MP3 files are actually on the MuVo - it is GREAT and easy to use! There are 3 buttons altogether; one to play/pause, one to lower the volume and one to raise the volume. There is also a little "thumbwheel" like device - this allows you to navigate backwards and forwards through your tracks, and also allows you to perform some other functions... Read review

PC2700 256mb RAM
Review of OCZ Basic DRAM 512 MB PC3200 by  roy.jennings1

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Loads of problems

...I came across OCZ RAM products after purchasing a new PC from a UK web based company called PC-DEPOT.CO.UK. During the initial set-up of the PC, and installing of software, the PC often rejected the installation throwing up VxD errors and System crashes. Eventually the PC became a working unit. After just a few days I was forever getting system crashes and freezes. So I contacted the suppliers, who in turn sent a small program by email to test the fitted RAM. This program proved that the OCZ (elixir) RAM PC2700 256mb was in fact the fault. They agreed that if I removed it myself and sent it back they would replace it (foc). Before I could do this the PC crashed beyond recovery. SO I purchased replacement RAM from a local supplier of a totally different make. Having had to format the HARD DRIVE, and start from scratch loading... Read review

Review of SpectraVideo US234 256 MB by  ciao1234567890

Advantages: very easy to use
Disadvantages: uses batterys quickly

...this is a nice little mp3 player which has excellent sound quality. 256mb hold around 70 songs for me but you can also use it to hold documents so you can transfer them from computer to computer its quite wide when you put it in a usb socket you cant put anything in the socket next to it but it dose come with a small uysb extension cable to get around this. you really want front or side facing usb sockets to be able to easily plug this in. it not very durable once i had it plugged in and i knocked it with my knee and it bent the usb and the casing came undone luckily i staigtened the usb and with a bit of pressure it came back together and was working perfectly and my songs still there. features: mp3 player- great quality songs player holds upto 70 songs recording can record in greatquality for upto 36 secongs... Advantages: Build Quality, Light, Small
Disadvantages: None as yet

...to the small screen but I have no had any woes there either. Leaving it running for hours on end seems to have no effect, no noisy fans and no excessive heat. If you dig one of these out in the aiport lounge then your a god. The one that really got me was the warranty. You get a full 3 year manufacturers warranty with the latop, something you would normally have to pay extra for from other manufacturers. Toshiba suppor is always 2nd to none for laptops. You also get a full set of manuals already installed on the PC along with a variety of backup applications that run on your behalf. Toshiba R100 - very small laptop
Review of Toshiba Portege R100 - Pentium M 900 MHz - 12.1" TFT by  koobra

Advantages: Size
Disadvantages: Spec

...I bought my first (and still only) laptop, Toshiba Portege R100, four years ago. Yes, I went completely mad and spent £1800 for a laptop with small screen (12.1"), poor resolution (1024x768), slow CPU (900MHz), just a bit of RAM (256MB DDR), tiny HDD (30GB) and no internal optic drive. OK, it didn't sound as miserable back then as it sounds right now. I just wanted ultra portable laptop. And I got it. It weight only 1.1kg, and is only 2cm thick. Has most necessary (and couple unnecessary) bits build in, like: network card, wireless network card, modem, mono input (3.5mm), stereo output (3.5mm), two USB2.0, 15 pin VGA output, PCIMCIA II slot, SD memory card reader, docking/port replicator connection, second RAM slot for memory upgrade (up to 1256MB). Toshiba added also second, high capacity battery (connected via port replicator... Read review
