...The Toshiba Satellite L500 is the same as most other toshiba laptops. It looks stylish and can do all the basic functions that you would want for a laptop. However, when you use it, you dont feel very comfortable because it feels very cheap. The keyboard is very flimsy and feels like it is about to break every time you type something and the mouse pad and buttons do not respond well. However, the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard is great as it makes it so easy to type numbers. You can buy this laptop with a range of processors and sizes of harddrive so you can choose the one which suits you best. The display is actually very good but the battery life could have been improved. On my model it will last for a maximum of 2.5 hours on its lowest power setting. DVD player with a bad stutter

Advantages: Upconversion to 1080i, HDMI, DIVX Playback
Disadvantages: Not very Durable, Both my players have broken

...A great DVD player with Upconversion to 780p/1080i, HDMI and component video outputs as well as DIVX playback. Pity that it will only play for 60minutes before playback grinds to a halt. I bought this player as I've not long upgraded to a HDTV. I was noticing a bit of picture derogation using my old player (connected via SCART) and decided it was time to upgrade. I was not happy buying a Blue ray or HD DVD player until for format war has finished, so i was looking for a player with HDMI output. Disadvantages: DVD tray wont like small children poking fingers in!

...What HiFi gave this player 5 star rating commenting that it believed Toshiba had shot itself in the foot by producing such a good player at such a cheap price, even comparing it £200 players. On this basis alone, I bought one. Firstly, it is exceptionally slimline, Victoria Beckham would love it. But that aside, do not be put off by the price tag, The finish of this player is good. If you have small children then perhaps the DVD tray is somewhat thin and frail and will not take kindly to heavy handed children or adults, for that matter. The height is 43.8 mm, width is 421 mm and the depth is 260 mm and it weighs 2.3 kg, which is fairly light. The major manufacturers made the mistake of not licensing the technology appropriately and subsequently the cost of DVD players has fallen dramatically within the past 5 years. Some people may find it hard to justify the cost of a DVD player when they can picked up for £30, but I am going to write this review to communicate the advantages of having a medium range quality DVD player. So firstly, why Toshiba? Toshiba have an excellant reputation for producing quality products for a great price. DVD, DVD+R/RW, DVD -RW, DVD-R, MP3, VCD, CD-R, CD-RW, SVCD, CD, JPEG (JPEG/Image CD), and are even DivX compatible And on the back they have several connections these are 1 x Component Video Connection, 1 x Co-axial Digital Connection, 2 x Audio Analog Phono Connections, 1 x Composite Video Connection, 1 x RGB Scart Connection. Having only one scart is a bit annoying but you can get around this if you wire it up correctly to your system :D The quality of the DVD player is great and I have not had a problem with it in the few months...

...i first bought a Toshiba around about 4 or 5 years ago, it was a toshiba tecra m3, it was a lovely laptop until i dropped it and broke it, i decided that i would replace it with another toshiba because of the previous good reliability i had got from the machine, i thing that attracted me to this laptop was firstly the fact it was an operating system upgrade for me and secondly the superior specifications, the only down side being that there is no integrated bluetooth and trusted security platform, i found that the offers that were available at the time of purchase were very reasonable and i feel i got great value for money, i also think that the designer of this laptop has taken very great care with the general look and feel of the laptop and have put a lot of thought into the hardware they have supplied and it holds pride of place...

It also have Dual layer DVD drive we can play movies in that and it is very fast and easy to use. we also get some free stuff also with laptop like Google Earth,McAfee Internet Security Suite 2008 (30 days subscription),Google PicasaToshiba DVD Player, Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition (Trial) and many more these are some of the important ones If u realy want to save money then go for this...

Toshiba DVD player is a winner

...I have had this DVD player for a long time now. It is a silver coloured player with a green frosted covering on the front. A very attractive, yet simple design. This is my second DVD player and I love it!! It is by far the best player I have experienced compared to my families and friends different players. This DVD player can also playback a multi-regional selection of DVD's. I must warn you to playback region one DVD's you need a compatiable TV. It is also a digital photo view and I have made photo cds in Picasa and watched them back on my DVD player which I was extremely pleased about. The DVD player also had enhanced audio and dialogue mode. For those of you like me that means nothing!! But basically it means that in audio mode you can get a 3-D surround sound quality effect with just the two speakers built into the system...
