Xbox 360 120GB Hard Drive
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Hard Drive Hard drive 120 GB by
jammyd0
Advantages: Lots of space for all your gaming needs.
Disadvantages: Price, Dust, Missing GB
...My personal experience with the Xbox 360 hard drive has been fairly positive. The ability to store music, films, videos and of course games saves is one that no Xbox gamer should be without. 120 GB of memory is more than enough for the average gamer. The hard drive is well designed to blend with the console perfectly. It is small and easy to store.
However the price is pretty heavy compared to the cheaper 20GB versions. A problem with the memory is the fact that the hard drive does not actually have 120GB, obviously it wouldn't be exactly due to the need for the running files but several GB are actually missing. Regular cleaning is advised as dust tends to collect on the hard drive but a sharp blow into the docking port is sufficient to clear this.
All in all this product is an incredibly useful addition to any Xbox 360 gamers...

Seagate External Hard Drive 120GB
Review of Seagate Hard drive 120 GB by
lilyellowfish
Advantages: Great invention, reasonable price, large capacity
Disadvantages: Bulky, noisy
...is approx. 3.5 inches in height, 10 inches across and 3.5 inches deep. When it is running it is also has quite a loud buzzing noise, which can be quite tedious.
The hard drive has 120GB and can store approx. 2,000 hours of digital music, 38,400 digital photos, 120 hours of digital video or 60 PC games. You are able to store digtal photos, videos, music, DVD's, Business Documents and Emails on the hard drive.
The hard drive has a 7200-RPM spin speed and a 2-MB cache buffer, BounceBack Express software for fast and easy back up, built-in self-monitoring technology and is also compatible with Windows and Macintosh platforms.
I have found this hard drive really useful, no longer does my laptop get filled up, it also runs faster. I am able to store all large documents/music/games on the external hard drive which prevents the slow...

Xbox 360 Hard Drive Hard To Do Without.
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Hard Drive Hard drive 120 GB by
JamieJCO
Advantages: Huge amounts of storage, durable, can take game saves everywhere.
Disadvantages: Price.
...The Xbox 360 120GB removable hard drive is a great item to buy for any Xbox 360 gamer. The larger hard drive has become even more useful with the coming of the ability to buy or rent movies via the Xbox Live Marketplace. Considering each movie is around 1GB in size (and even larger if downloaded in HD) conventional size Hard Drives will rapidly be eaten up.
The removable hard drive is also extremely easy to use, it slides clips on the size of the Xbox 360 console, and absolutely no further setup is required. It is equally as easy to remove, you simply have to push in the button and lift it out of position. Its relatively small size then comes in handy, as you can carry it to your friends house and fit it on their console. All of your game saves and your gamercard can now be accessed on their console and provided they have access...

Extremely portable and excellent hard drive.
Review of Freecom Mobile Drive Hard drive 120 GB by
MVP017
Advantages: Size, looks, no sound
Disadvantages: Could have a carrying pouch
...is that there is no pouch for it so unless you can buy one it could possibly get scratched.
Design;
The look is attractive but fairly basic, being enclosed in an aluminium case and having a black front and back. One nice touch is that there is a blue LED on the 120GB sign which lights up when it is connected.
Connections;
The hard drive connects to the PC/ laptop via USB 2.0 which connects to the back of the hard drive to your computer. The device is powered by your computer through the USB cable but there is the option to buy an AC adapter which also connects to the back of the device. I would suggest though that this is not needed as it works perfectly well without it, still being extremely quiet.
Techinical detail;
The hard drive has a data transfer rate of 480 MBit/s, which is not the fastest i have seen but it seems to still be quick...

maxtor external 120 gb hardrive
Review of Maxtor OneTouch Hard drive 120 GB by
danny_westham
Advantages: size , speed wow
Disadvantages: very little, perhaps only poor speed with usb 1.0
...First of all for anyone who doesnt want to read all of this review... to sum up this product is really quite awesome.
The reason behind buying this product was very simple, the pcs we currently have in the house are getting quite old now 3 years, and a bit dodgy to say the least.. the final straw came when my brothers pc was barely turning on, the pc contained all his a level, and first year university work, which was needed to be saved.. So off we popped to special reserve and bought this little hard drive for 115 pounds, the box is cetainly very inviting, read the instruction booklet provided seemed very simple ad easy to set up, for xp users ( sorry i cannot comment on other operating systems). The drive itself looks very classy and stylish silver with a blue stand ( much like the ps2 style stand), with the "one touch" button...

The Captain Scarlet of removable drives
Review of Freecom ToughDrive Pro Hard drive 120 GB by
Miskah
Advantages: Extremely durable, vast capacity, simple to use, reasonable price
Disadvantages: Not always plug & pay ; needs software installation on a few PC's
...One thing about joining Ciao it encourages you to look objectively at the products you own or use regularly particularly if someone else may benefit.
A product I like very much, use regularly and have had no problems with whatsoever is the Freecom ToughDrive Pro Hard drive 120 GB. This was given to me as a present by the man in my life (who in truth could be described as an IT geek) I have had several memory sticks in the past as I frequently carry projects to and from home, work, meetings and conferences and they have become a real part of my life and one that I couldn’t manage without ( sad but true)
I’ve had problems in the past from loosing memory sticks ( not too bad if I can find them again !) because they are small or because the fiddly little clips break away (I used to keep them clipped to my car keys for safety (ha...

My laptop helper!Archos QDISK 120 Gig version
Review of Archos QDisk Hard drive 120 GB by
JaYmEZ
Advantages: Very nice and relatively light high storage addon
Disadvantages: plastic.... "feeling hot hot hot " springs to mind.
...Speed / Size
----------------------
Note : This does require its own power source.. supplied in the form of a power adaptor.
This is a 120 Gigabite hard drive, but formatted with fat 32 = 115 Gigs :-( Speed is 7200rpm, not sure about the cache sorry.
Connections
--------------------------
This is either usb 1.1 or 2.0, and i would very highly recommend that you use it with 2.0 as its very fast and trnsfering data is easier. With 1.1 it takes forever, and with that time comes heat, and with that heat comes less stability. It can be done with large files ( transfering that is ) but just be prepared to wait a long time :-) whilst moving 4 gigs from a friends pc, it took on usb 1.1 an hour and a half !! Compared to around 15mins on 2.0....so you see the need for speed ?
The hard drive is supplied with its own USB - USB...

Toshiba A200 - 195
Review of Toshiba Satellite A200-195 Laptop by
JJS77
Advantages: Light, Fast, Looks nice, Reliable, Value.
Disadvantages: Doesn't have a built in webcam or Bluetooth connectivity.
...'s but then I compared the price and immediately ruled them out as the cheapest one was £900, and the Toshiba's I was playing on ranged from £400 to £550.
After comparing them all on the Toshiba website I found that the A200-195 was the best for me, as it offered a good sized hard drive, 120GB, quite large in comparison to other manufacturers' laptops, the general range seemed to be about 80GB. The processor was a 1.76GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo, this is important as it is a Core 2, this processor is the new one from Intel which is less demanding of the battery for better performance so it is a must in a laptop, again I was surprised to find that hardly any of the other laptops had Core 2's, until you got to the £900 price ranges, hence the battery life on the Toshiba was sold as 3 to 4 hours and the other laptops based on the Core 1 was 1.5 to 2 hours...

Freecom 400GB external USB Hard drive
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 400 GB by
ilaskey
Advantages: Fast, high capacity storage. Well built, looks good. 2 year warranty, No fan.
Disadvantages: No fan.
...Freecom before as they've always looked a bit cheap and nasty so this would be an interesting experience. The box did feel reassuringly heavy though, a good start.
###############
# What's in the Box?
###############
Apart from the drive, the box contained a small light external PSU, a USB lead and a CD with some backup software.
The case is made of extremly solid and heavy aluminium with a silver plastic front piece with a sexy blue '400GB' light (yes, you can have sexy lights. Really.) at the front just to prove how big it was. The finish is excellent and I have to say, if this is anything to go by, I'm converted to Freecom. Unlike the picture here, my unit has the aluminium finished in matt black which looks really nice on top of my black PC. It's also surprisingly compact - not that much bigger than a hard drive at 20x11.5x4 cms...

Internal 80 GB Hard drive.
Review of Acer Hard drive 80 GB by
yassarikhan786
Advantages: Quick transfer speed,
Disadvantages: Fairly Bulky
...What can i say this is an internal had-drive which obviously integrates within a computer system. Nowadays 80GB is not enough for anyone as programs are now increasing in size due to their complexity and what they have to offer.
A hard drive is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. Non-volatile storage is simply the name given to a storage device which can retain stored data even when not powered. With a volatile storage device being one that can not retain saved data e.g. RAM (Random Access Memory).
I used to have an 80 GB hard drive in the past on my "OLD" PC, which was about 5 years ago. Now i have a 300 GB hard drive which i have to admit is filling up really quickly. Due to the number of files stored e.g music, photo, video etc.
This particular...
