...The Toshiba Satellite L500 is the same as most other toshiba laptops. It looks stylish and can do all the basic functions that you would want for a laptop. However, when you use it, you dont feel very comfortable because it feels very cheap. The keyboard is very flimsy and feels like it is about to break every time you type something and the mouse pad and buttons do not respond well. However, the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard is great as it makes it so easy to type numbers. You can buy this laptop with a range of processors and sizes of harddrive so you can choose the one which suits you best. The display is actually very good but the battery life could have been improved. On my model it will last for a maximum of 2.5 hours on its lowest power setting. ...i first bought a Toshiba around about 4 or 5 years ago, it was a toshiba tecra m3, it was a lovely laptop until i dropped it and broke it, i decided that i would replace it with another toshiba because of the previous good reliability i had got from the machine, i thing that attracted me to this laptop was firstly the fact it was an operating system upgrade for me and secondly the superior specifications, the only down side being that there is no integrated bluetooth and trusted security platform, i found that the offers that were available at the time of purchase were very reasonable and i feel i got great value for money, i also think that the designer of this laptop has taken very great care with the general look and feel of the laptop and have put a lot of thought into the hardware they have supplied and it holds pride of place...

Big laptop Small money

Nice laptop, FAB extended warranty!

Advantages: Good specs, fast, wonderful extended warranties
Disadvantages: Feels a bit flimsy, no indicator lights showing wifi connection, etc.

You can already get more for your money than when we bought it just a few months ago, so check the current offers (make sure to look around the Web site, as I found by clicking on various offers I got the same machine for less) You can also now get a free upgrade to Windows 7 when that comes out later this year. It's fast, cute, and does everything we need. You can get it in a variety of colors, either for free if there is an offer on or for about 30 quid otherwise. Black is free whether an offer is on or not. Also, some have said it's not good for gaming -- that is probably only true if you are a hardcore gamer...

Dell Inspiron 1545 - good entry level laptop

Disadvantages: Probably not powerful enough for games, bottom of the market now

...The Dell Inspiron 1545 is an easy to use entry level laptop. Unlike two years ago when I bought my previous laptop, you can now get a number of Dell computers (of which this is one) direct from high street retailers. This is good if you want it in a rush and want a nearby place to handle any issues, but has the disadvantage that you can't customise your laptop to your own requirements to the same extent that you can if you buy it direct from Dell (which takes several weeks). Because Dell are so good at allowing customisation, you need to be very careful when you buy that you actually get the one you need - they are not all the same, so you can't just go into a shop and say "Give me your Inspiron 1545" - you need to be sure that it e.g. has a suitable processor, enough memory and a big enough hard drive for your needs. Advantages: Fast, Portable, Comfortable and Sleek, HD Resolution, Toshiba support is brilliant!

...that law legal. So the laptop, it's got plenty of positives and only a few negatives. And if you've read my other reviews, I like to get the negatives out of the way first. NEGATIVES I'll get straight to the point, the graphics card is seriously bad, there's no way around it. It's a new thing where your computers RAM is used to power some of the graphics, like video and pictures. However this won't work with high-end games like the Call of Duty series or Crysis. This however, isn't a laptop you'd buy if you were wanting one for gaming, so it's not a major draw back. Another bad point is the durability, which isn't great. The lid can be pushed in, revealing it is fairly hollow apart from the screen and its components. I thought this a bit stupid as Toshiba are just wasting money making more material, why not just make it thin and tight guys...

...Really loved this laptop, it is cheap, has a fairly large screen and has some pretty cool extra features which I shall get on to later in the review. This is just going to be a quick (ish) review as going out soon. Compared to other laptops, this is impressively fast, probably due to it's Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2370. It runs on windows vista, which seems to be faster than earlier windows. It is quite light, being only 3.15 kg and is quite small enough to carry round and fits in most bags. It has a width of 398mm, a depth of 292mm and a height at the front of 35.3mm and 43.1mm at the back. The screen is 17in (larger than many laptops) and it has a fairly good battery life. It also has built in sterospeakers. It also has a double layer DVD Multi drive. These features mean it is ideal for putting a movie on when you're out...

The dell inspiron laptop is it a good buy!

Advantages: The look of the dell inspiron laptop seems more classy then other notepads. It is simplistic.
Disadvantages: Maybe Dell Have gone too simplistic with this model as the features are nothing to rave about

...The Dell inspiron laptop has an attractive classy look, it has a simplistic stream-line look. When I take it out its case I feel good about it because its not a big bulky embarassing computer thing. However, if your one for keeping everything clean and tidy and no smudges anywhere, then maybe you might be irritated by this laptop. With its glossy look smudges, smears and fingerprints stand out like a sore thumb. You feel like your constantly wiping it. You also have to watch what you wipe the laptop with as it is quite easy to scratch. A better idea for Dell would be to provide a cloth to clean it with, one they know wont damage your laptop. It would be a real bummer to scratch it while cleaning it. I also decided to get the colour black because there wasnt a lot of colours to choose from which I found quite dissapointing as...

...I have just bought this laptop and its a bargin I does everything you would need a laptop to do for personel use Memory is also a good size for basic use . The other good reasons for buying this it runs very quickly on and of the internet. It also holds a dvd re-writable drive use for downloading films of the internet on to dvd. You can also copy music via the same drive, Also comew with microsoft windows vista uploaded i personally really like the software compared to windows xp , It has had bad reviews in the past, But i feel microsoft have now soted out the problems they were having with it. It also come with wireless LAN ariel, Headphone socket, Built in Speakers you can also upgrade the battery for extra cost but well worth while, Buy this laptop now for a great bargin with free work or home delivery....
