Toshiba NB100
Advantages: Nice look, good battery life.
Disadvantages: Too small.
...actually pretty impressive.
Function
The notebook works quite well with wireless internet and doesn't cut off often as I have found with wi-fi on some other laptops.
It also has an impressive battery life, in a recent car journey, I found it lasted about 3 and 3/4 hours, easily enough time for all of the film I was watching as well as some of another.
It is available in two versions, Ubuntu Linux and Windows XP Home., but the Linux has 512Mb of RAM and an 80Gb hard disk, the Windows one has 1Gb of RAM and a 120Gb drive. I personally own the windows version, since I know more about the operating system and prefer the high memory levels.
The rest of it's specifications are pretty average for a note book and it runs as such.
Overall
The Toshiba NB100 is great if you're japanese and/or believe things should be made...

Twee little Tosh?..
Advantages: Compact and Powerful
Disadvantages: Fiddly
...powerful miniscule computers compared to the compromises built into scaling such functionality so far down so that it fits on a phone). I am happy to carry my phone separately and just boot up my Netbook PC when the need dictates. With a plethora of choice for me familiarity and trust in the Toshiba brand attracted me to the mini marvel. I gleefully selected My Toshiba NB100 from Amazon, electronically submitted payment of £249.98 and waited for the postman to arrive. This he did some two days later in April 2009 bringing a simply boxed package containing a Toshiba NB100-12A 8.9-inch Netbook, Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, Windows XP Home When you look on Amazon now you will see this model has already been superceded by a version with 160 GB HDD,?? but what the heck I am really quite pleased with mine.

There is nothing exceptional about this Netbook.
Advantages: Attractive outlook, useful bundled of softwares, very very useful networking options.
Disadvantages: stuffed keyboard, poor ram, expensive, almost useless webcam, poor resolution.
...Netbooks have been introduced to consumers as the secondary option of laptop, which allows them to perform the basic computing tasks, office works and web surfing but not for extensive uses. Consumers can get them in much cheaper price than laptops.
Having said that, this Toshiba netbook is not something outstanding or standout choice to go for. It does not perform exceptionally poor or exceptionally better than other netbooks. The processor is intel atom N270 with processing 1.6 GHz. It's a single core processor with modest speed. Atom 200 series is designed as single core with having the ability to perform 2 instructions per cycle. So, just for very normal office works it's alright. Though in the bright side, Intel Atom processors come with speedstep technology, which allows less consumption of power and battery longevity as well...

Small and cute way to the World Wide Web...
Advantages: Small and portable, Ubuntu tweaked for use on a netbook makes it simple
Disadvantages: Can get warm, driver issues
...Internet, Games etc and you just click on the list you want and the application you require. It comes built in with Firefox, Pidgin Instant Messenger and Open Office although there are many other things you can easily get for free. One problem I did have, when I updated the system the Wi-Fi and the sound drivers stopped working. I realised that I could save the install packages from these drivers on to a flash disk and install them again. I got the drivers from Toshibas site.
Wi-fi connection is fine, doesn't cut out etc etc. I also got my 3 mobile dongle connected which is handy as sometimes the wireless is a bit iffy in my house. This was done by using a program called Vodafone Mobile Connect Driver. Just look for Debian packages whilst searching Google, choose Ubuntu 8 and it's easier and more organised than Windows.
For this...

Typical Toshiba
Advantages: Ease of use, memory capacity
Disadvantages: Quality, feel, value for money
...The Toshiba Satellite L500 is the same as most other toshiba laptops. It looks stylish and can do all the basic functions that you would want for a laptop. However, when you use it, you dont feel very comfortable because it feels very cheap. The keyboard is very flimsy and feels like it is about to break every time you type something and the mouse pad and buttons do not respond well. However, the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard is great as it makes it so easy to type numbers. You can buy this laptop with a range of processors and sizes of harddrive so you can choose the one which suits you best. The display is actually very good but the battery life could have been improved. On my model it will last for a maximum of 2.5 hours on its lowest power setting.
Overall, this laptop is reasonable at most things but not...

Toshiba Equium
Advantages: Value For money
Disadvantages: No Bluetooth
...i first bought a Toshiba around about 4 or 5 years ago, it was a toshiba tecra m3, it was a lovely laptop until i dropped it and broke it, i decided that i would replace it with another toshiba because of the previous good reliability i had got from the machine, i thing that attracted me to this laptop was firstly the fact it was an operating system upgrade for me and secondly the superior specifications, the only down side being that there is no integrated bluetooth and trusted security platform, i found that the offers that were available at the time of purchase were very reasonable and i feel i got great value for money, i also think that the designer of this laptop has taken very great care with the general look and feel of the laptop and have put a lot of thought into the hardware they have supplied and it holds pride of place...

Save up some dosh to buy this Tosh...iba
Advantages: Fast, Portable, Comfortable and Sleek, HD Resolution, Toshiba support is brilliant!
Disadvantages: Awful grapics card, Not very durable, Speaker volume isn't fab...
...that law legal. So the laptop, it's got plenty of positives and only a few negatives. And if you've read my other reviews, I like to get the negatives out of the way first.
NEGATIVES
I'll get straight to the point, the graphics card is seriously bad, there's no way around it. It's a new thing where your computers RAM is used to power some of the graphics, like video and pictures. However this won't work with high-end games like the Call of Duty series or Crysis. This however, isn't a laptop you'd buy if you were wanting one for gaming, so it's not a major draw back. Another bad point is the durability, which isn't great. The lid can be pushed in, revealing it is fairly hollow apart from the screen and its components. I thought this a bit stupid as Toshiba are just wasting money making more material, why not just make it thin and tight guys...

TOSHIBA
Advantages: Useful
Disadvantages: There are plenty of better models
...GENERAL INFORMATION

Basically the laptop is an average notebook computer for general use. The processor and drive capabilities are nothing special, but admirable for the price that you pay.
OPINION
If you want a computer for anything other than general use this is not the right laptop for you. It doesnt have the capabilities to be anything other than an average computer. It could suit small business ventures that dont necessarily require a high processing speed, but is...
