Toshiba Portege G710
Advantages: stylish design, good display quality, convenient QWERTY keyboard
Disadvantages: poor battery life, Windows language support issue, poor headphone sound, miniUSB audio jack
...I purchased a new Toshiba Portege 710 under VDA GPS(Vodafone) branding in Germany for about 100 Euro, and I must say that in my opinion the device has few, if any, competitors for the price, but I discovered a few drawbacks which I found more or less disappointing:
1) The battery life is really poor compared to a budget-class mobile phone I previously had. I've been using the phone for 3 weeks only, but the battery runs from fully charged to flat after 2 days of stand-by mode plus 15-20 minutes of talking. One of my intentions was to use the phone as a pocket e-book reader, but as I see reading at "bright" highlight level discharges the battery completely very quickly.
Strangely enough to me, the phone is losing datetime settings when the battery runs flat, so unless you charge it regularly you'll have to reset system time over...

Toshiba Portege G900 - Mobile Office
Advantages: QWERTY keyboard, fingerprint security, bluetooth. wi-fi, windows mobile 6
Disadvantages: Costly, considerably large
...Toshiba are not renowned for their mobile phones, but more for their innovations in other technological areas. The Toshiba Portege G900 is one of a small minority of Toshiba mobile phones, and one of an even smaller minority of personal horizontal slider phones.
Loaded with mobile technology the Toshiba Portege G900 comes with an innovative fingerprint sensor and a full QWERTY Keyboard. The QWERTY keypad is very easy to use making the use of e-mail more efficient.
Being one of the first mobile phones to include Windows mobile 6 , you can read and reply to e-mails as soon as they arrive at your INBOX, you can organize your calendar and make use of the integrated and popular Microsoft Office applications. Other benefits of this phone are that it consists of a generously large 3" screen, two cameras (one for video calling as this...

Toshiba Portege G500 - Business on the go
Advantages: Finger print recognition, GPS functionality, video calling
Disadvantages: High price, average features.
...The Toshiba Portege G500 was one of two smart phones released in the second quarter of 2007. However, with the introduction of Microsoft's new mobile operating system (Windows Mobile 6), Toshiba decided not to integrate the new system within the Toshiba Portege G500. Instead they went with the older Windows mobile 5 operating system. A wise choice?
This phone like the Toshiba Portege G900 has fingerprint recognition, which is a security bonus for all users who like to keep their personal files private and confidential. Also with the new finger print technology you can program the G500 to respond to different finger prints, giving you the option to create short cuts with each unique and individual finger print.
Windows mobile 5.0 as it is known, makes the G500 seem more like a portable PC than a mobile phone. Like many new smart...

Top of the range Toshiba
Advantages: Great value for what it is, very portable, durable, useful, good screen, fun to use
Disadvantages: Easily breakable keys, no touch screen, only stylus/lightpen useable not fingers.
...This really is what it says it is - Toshiba, the mark of quality and reliability, and Portege, meaning it is portable. The Toshiba Portege is an excellent laptop.
My Experience
When I first got this on order from amazon.co.uk, I looked at the box and thought 'jees its huge!' After stripping down the 100's of layers of wrapping and cardboard on the laptop, I finally got to it. It is very petite in real life, yet a good weight at 2.1 kg - not too heavy but not too light, about the weight of a little over 2 bags of sugar. It's 29.5 cm wide, 24.9 cm high and 3.9cm deep. Very easy to just stick in your backpack if you need it for a school or work project.
Using it is a pleasurable experience! It is excellent to use with either the touch pad or stylus. The stylus is very touch responsive, and this can be utilised for graphics...

Toshiba Portege 3110CT
Advantages: Fast on a small OS, very light and small, has a good LCD screen, comes with essential bits
Disadvantages: Can be slow on Win 2K, has limited RAM, one USB 1.1 port on laptop, can get hot,
...I was given this laptop by a friend for free. In my opinion, this laptop would be brilliant as a netbook. It is really small and lightweight, and with the correct operating system it can be very fast. I also want to comment on how durable the laptop is. I have spilt 2 glasses of Coke onto the keyboard and parts of the laptop and it has come through smiling. I was really impressed. Another thing that is good about the laptop is that Toshiba decided to include the Port Replicator for free. The port replicator adds more USB ports, an ethernet port and a few others.
The downside to this laptop is mainly the RAM. The laptop comes with 64Mb of RAM which can be upgraded with 32Mb, 64Mb and 128Mb modules. The problem with these RAM chips is that they are VERY expensive. Ł50 or $70 for the 128Mb module!!!
The laptop can also get quite hot...

Typical Toshiba
Advantages: Ease of use, memory capacity
Disadvantages: Quality, feel, value for money
...The Toshiba Satellite L500 is the same as most other toshiba laptops. It looks stylish and can do all the basic functions that you would want for a laptop. However, when you use it, you dont feel very comfortable because it feels very cheap. The keyboard is very flimsy and feels like it is about to break every time you type something and the mouse pad and buttons do not respond well. However, the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard is great as it makes it so easy to type numbers. You can buy this laptop with a range of processors and sizes of harddrive so you can choose the one which suits you best. The display is actually very good but the battery life could have been improved. On my model it will last for a maximum of 2.5 hours on its lowest power setting.
Overall, this laptop is reasonable at most things but not...

Toshiba Equium
Advantages: Value For money
Disadvantages: No Bluetooth
...i first bought a Toshiba around about 4 or 5 years ago, it was a toshiba tecra m3, it was a lovely laptop until i dropped it and broke it, i decided that i would replace it with another toshiba because of the previous good reliability i had got from the machine, i thing that attracted me to this laptop was firstly the fact it was an operating system upgrade for me and secondly the superior specifications, the only down side being that there is no integrated bluetooth and trusted security platform, i found that the offers that were available at the time of purchase were very reasonable and i feel i got great value for money, i also think that the designer of this laptop has taken very great care with the general look and feel of the laptop and have put a lot of thought into the hardware they have supplied and it holds pride of place...

M200
Advantages: Overall quality, specification.
Disadvantages: I cant think of any.
...Basic overview:
The portege m200 is a nifty little item. you can use it as a normal laptop but also have the ability to swivel the screen round and make it lie flat like a tablet.
it comes with a tablet pen so you can write on the screen whenever.
I will say that in this review i am going to give my opinion and what i have experienced, i am not going to list all its features, just things that i love and the not so good parts.
first of all, it is a well rounded machine, i can play call of duty 2 on it which is impressive, my 2ghz celeron desktop had problems running that.
the graphics card will not dissapoint, and the 2GHZ centrino is a blessing, i can do lots on the laptop and not experience any problems.
I was dissapointed by the fact it came with no internal drives, mine came with an external USB floppy drive but i am not...

Toshiba Portege 3500 - Best of breed, but heavy
Advantages: Robust, powerful, functionally superior to the competition. All you could ask for from a tablet pc.
Disadvantages: Can get hot, but nothing to worry about, battery life shorter than with other models (3.5hrs), heavier than the competition making it awkward for the true mobile user.
...Over the past few months, I have been evaluating and rolling out tablet PC's across my organisation within the Health industry. My evaluation has covered the HP Compaq TC1100, the Motion M1200, the Fujitsu Stylistic ST4120, and the Toshiba Portégé 3500. What follows is a brief discussion of the Toshiba Portege 3500 which I hope will give users some guidance and prove informative.
Of all the tablet PC's currently on the market the Toshiba Portégé 3500 has the best performance of all the systems because it uses the Intel Pentium III-M 1.33 GHz processor and a fast hard drive. Perhaps as a consequence of the faster processor, the Toshiba is also the hottest and noisiest; it is the only Tablet PC I have used which utilises a case fan. Furthermore, it has the shortest battery life (3:05 versus 3:25 for the top-scoring Fujitsu). Unlike...

Beautiful
Advantages: Everything a laptop should be
Disadvantages: Uses an eraser head mouse pointer (not the favourite choice of everyone)
...Toshiba are a leader in the notebooks and this s a laptop that backs this statement up. On first impression you can't help but be drawn in by its sleek, silver and black design. It has all the features all could want from a laptop and you can read the technical specifications below.
I am so impressed with this laptop that my esktop PC has been packed away, as this small notebook out powers everything on it by double. I'm not a businessman so I'm not on the move with this laptop, but I can tell you what I use it for and how it measures up.
How does it look?
*********************
Design is a big thing nowadays, and with the old beige colour out of fashion, silver and black is now the way forward. This Portege is based on these colours and it is very, very attractive. The M100 has been beautifully designed, its
compact but all...
