...Toshiba has launched another great notebook, the Toshiba R600 Notebook. Almost every people know there are two reason when people chose to buy a notebook: a cheap price and portability. On the Toshiba R600 you will get the portability of a notebook, even though you will not get a cheap price. The Toshiba Portege R600 measures 0.77 inches at its thinnest edge and starts at 2.4 pounds. It is based on Intel Centrino 2 processor technology. Currently, there are two R600 configurations available - the R600-S4201 and R600-S4202. Both systems come with the Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 CPU at 1.4GHz, GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 3GB of DDR2 memory, a built-in DVD burner, and a 12.1 in with 1280×800 widescreen LED-sidelight display that is outdoor viewable. To Infinity and Beyond, Toshiba R200 Laptop

Advantages: Build Quality, Light, Small

...INFO I have been involved with Toshiba laptops for a few years now. First in having one as a work laptop and secondly supporting them for other users. Toshiba have the ability to create a laptop that is rugged enough to withstand daily use whilst being designed well enough to fit the daily use it was intended for. The Portege R200 is no exception and is an exceptional laptop for the business traveller. Once given the go ahead to buy a couple of these I couldn't wait to ditch the Dell equivalents. COST I managed to secure 2 R200 laptops for a mere £1234 each excluding VAT from Inmac. I have however seen one on EBAY last week for £994. Now that's cheap. FIRST THOUGHTS When the first R200 arrived I couldn't believe the size of the box. It's so small you would think it had a couple of paperback novels in it and not a PC...

Toshiba Portege R100 Review

Advantages: Wireless networking, Very Light, Very Fast, Good battery, Sensitive touch pad, Nice design
Disadvantages: Small screen, Sensitive touch pad

...I bought my laptop in march for £1,300 and it is fantastic, it is a lot better than the previous Toshiba laptop I purchased which was also very good. I am yet to find a fault with Toshiba's products and service. I damaged my old laptop twice and both imes my warranty dealt with it brilliantly. In my opinion they are second only to Sony. Weight and size are very important to me, so this is ideal. The battery is great it lasts me 5 to six hours depending on the task, which is a lot better than any laptop I've had before. The wireless LAN is also very good, easy to set up and works a charm. The touch pad has a few little problems as it has too many functions, e.g. certain parts of it will send you back to the last internet page and other parts will scroll a page when you just want to move the cursor. I suppose it is a good feature if...
