Canon PowerShot G10 review
Advantages: autofocus, big screen, face detection, 14,7 megapixel, image processor, image stabilisation
Disadvantages: chunky, not very stylish, not as portable as other cameras
...I recently bought one of these at an expensive price. I shall explain some features and my feedback to this item below.
The 14.7-megapixel G10 replaces the PowerShot G9 at the top end of the clever compact space. It's a chunky beast of a camera, as you'll see in your pictures, but still smaller than a dSLR with comparable power and flexibity. The G-series are designed to be the back-up cameras you can keep in your pocket if you don't want to bust out the dSLR, and the G10 certainly packs a lot into its relatively compact frame.
The G10 includes all the whistles, bells and accordions you'd expect: optical image stabilisation, face detection and various scene and colour modes. These include panorama stitch assist, portrait, landscape, and aquarium. The larger-than-most 1/1.7-inch sensor is teamed with Canon's new DIGIC 4 image...

Canon G10: does most things very well, some things briliantly
Advantages: Picture quality, portability, 5x zoom, RAW shooting, high-res monitor, manual options
Disadvantages: Noise at higher ISO
...Why buy a Canon G10?
For about the same price you could get an SLR with a much bigger sensor. And whilst at 80 ISO the G10 with its 14.7 megapixels actually gives better resolution than Canon?s 1000D SLR, at 400 ISO and above its resolution falls away and noise increases dramatically. But at the SLR?s base price you would not get a 28-140mm (equivalent) zoom; and the G10?s compactness and light weight make it a far more attractive option as a camera that you can take with you everywhere. It does most things very well, and some things brilliantly.
The most direct competition in a compact comes from the Panasonic LX3. While not quite matching the LX3?s low light performance the G10?s superior zoom (5x as opposed to 2.5) makes it far more versatile, and at low ISO it has superior, not to say stunning, resolution.
So what about the G10...

Typical Toshiba
Advantages: Ease of use, memory capacity
Disadvantages: Quality, feel, value for money
...The Toshiba Satellite L500 is the same as most other toshiba laptops. It looks stylish and can do all the basic functions that you would want for a laptop. However, when you use it, you dont feel very comfortable because it feels very cheap. The keyboard is very flimsy and feels like it is about to break every time you type something and the mouse pad and buttons do not respond well. However, the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard is great as it makes it so easy to type numbers. You can buy this laptop with a range of processors and sizes of harddrive so you can choose the one which suits you best. The display is actually very good but the battery life could have been improved. On my model it will last for a maximum of 2.5 hours on its lowest power setting.
Overall, this laptop is reasonable at most things but not...

Throw away your desktop PC!
Advantages: Fantastic screen, feature packed
Disadvantages: Heavy, short battery life
...Although it stretches the definition of "laptop" to the limits of credulity -- this thing is BIG -- in terms of features and performance you're not going to be disappointed.
The first thing that strikes you about this laptop will be the screen -- a massive 17" widescreen (16:10) monster (about the size of an A3 sheet of paper) with fantastic brightness and clarity; the native WXGA resolution (1440 x 900) is enough that you can fit plenty on the screen for serious work, and works perfectly for entertainment purposes. Toshiba's "LCD Overdrive" technology means that even playing fast paced games produces no visible "smearing" that can plague lesser LCD screens.
In the raw power stakes the 1.7GHz P4-M may not be the fastest in terms of clock speed, but the 2MB L2 cache and pipelining optimisations mean that in most cases it performs...

Qosmio Out Of This World
Advantages: High Definition, Great Graphics, Awesome Sound, Wicked Processor + more
Disadvantages: Size and weight
...I used to hate laptops, as a gamer, designer, but this is something else!
I have a custom built desktop computer, Pentium4 3.0GHz, 1GB DDR Ram, 128DDR AGP Nvidia Graphics card all overclocked so my experience of laptops was bad. The Qosimo G20-139 plays games better than my desktop!
The 128MB VRAM Nvidia Graphics it has is just wonderful, making games quick, clear, and graphically impressive. That with the HD 17" TruBite WXGA+ display has to be seen to be believed, it is bright, clear and has a awesome refresh rate. With HD movies and games makes LOADS of difference. Then comes the 1GB of RAM and the SRS TruSound XT and WOW sound along with Harman / Kardon stereo speakers makes this just steps away from the holy grail of an AlienWare.
The G20-139 plays loads of top-end games on full detail settings such as Doom3, GTA : San...

Binatone Symphony G10
Advantages: Great little phone
Disadvantages: None at the moment
...Our old cordless phone was not working properly, so started the search for a new one.
The Binatone Symphony G10 digital cordless phone, has all the standard features you would expect from a cordless phone.
This is a digital phone, with a handset, and base. The base is the charger unit, and has a paging facility to the handset..
The handset has a coloured screen, with 4 wallpapers, that are not really that inspiring, and you do not have the option of turning them off. When an incoming call is recieved if you have caller display, the telephone number will be displayed, and if you have the number stored in one of the 200 places in the phone book, the persons name will also display.
The phonebook, can store upto 200 names, and has a place for home, mobile & other phone numbers.
The handset has 40 ringtones, most of which...

If you want a computer for anything other than general use this is not the right laptop for you. It doesnt have the capabilities to be anything other than an average computer. It could suit small business ventures that dont necessarily require a high processing speed, but is...
