Targus Mini Optical Retractable Mouse Mouse

...I bought this Targus Mini Optical Retractable Mouse Mouse as I was sick of fiddling about with my laptop's trackpad and/or "nipple" mouse button when trying to demo software at work, and wanted to avoid a) unplugging my mouse from the docking station, and b) filling up my bag any more than necessary... It's really small (5.0 x 1.6 x 8.3 inches, weight: 3.2 ounces) so takes up almost no space in my bag, and although it's great on a full size table/desk, it's just as easy to use in a small work space or even on a small airplane tray. The Mini Optical Mouse is "only" USB 1.1, but that allows "plug and play" connection with USB sockets on Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and Macintosh OS, I believe. Just plug it in, wait a moment while Windows does its "Found New Hardware" stuff, and you're off ! No drivers to install or anything...

Mini Mouse!

Advantages: smooth movements, very comfortable for small hands
Disadvantages: may not be as comfortable for large hands, annoying wheel noise

I had not owned a laptop before but often used my husbands and one thing that I could not get on with at all was the touchpad! So a quick trip to PC world for mouse shopping was required and after browsing the different mice I finally settled on the HP mini laser mouse as it matched my HP laptop very well. I think we paid £14.99 for the mouse which I thought was an average price, you can still buy this mouse and the price varies depending on where you look. The mouse itself is a laser operated mouse which to me is a million times better than the ball controlled ones as you don't have to worry about having a mouse mat or the ball getting trapped, clogged with fluff or stuck on anything. ...When my faithful mouse of many years had given up the ghost and gone to mouse heaven, I saw in the computer shop that progress had also touched mice. The shop-assistant talked me into a cutting edge, battery run mouse whose movement wouldn?t be hindered by a cable. Silly me, it had never disturbed me that my mouse was connected with the computer. For the new mouse I?d have to buy batteries which would add to the price, especially as I forgot all the time to switch the thingy off because I wasn?t used to doing so.
