...working for a poor art gallery we needed somthing cheap but effective for our shows. i had a good look at everything out there and ended up with 2 of these for my £900 rather than just one. the specs were quite good for the money in fact i could not find anything else as good for the price i got mine. the 800x600 resolution with a 1400ANSI lumen light makes a great picture but only in low light, i found the picture faded if i turned on any thing more than a 40w table lamp, the contrast ratio (difference between black and white) is 2000:1,which is very respectable for such a cheap projector and with a projection size from 30-300 inches with good zoom and focus in the 3-33 foot projection distance. there was little complaint from the bosses about their useability. the Toshiba TDP S20 comes packed with connectors for connecting... ...I bought this camera very cheaply secondhand to use for rocket aerial photography. After hitting the ground hard many times it soon became apparent that the camera was more durable than expected, with no malfunctions after a few months use. I own other digital camera's, and am impressed with the speed at which the S-20 focuses and takes pictures, although the light sensitivity of the CCD seems poor - a 4 second exposure of a moonlight scene produces a noisy dark picture when compared to an Olympus C220's 1/2 second exposure of the same scene. But the S-20 is old now so maybe an unfair comparison. I can get about 60 top-res photos on one charge of the (new) NiMh battery, and prefer to manually set the colour balance when taking photo's, as the auto balance sometimes produces shots that are discoloured. ...could find slimmer DVD players, many will comprimise on picture and sound quality. The Toshiba SD340E is a DVD player that will look asethically pleasing under a TV. I already antiscipated that the Toshiba SD340E would not contain a scart lead and bought a fairly decent £20 one myself. You can pick them up much cheaper, but I would recommend that when using a DVD player the quality of the Toshiba SD340E , I'd suggest spending about the same as me, the difference is apparent. So how does the Toshiba SD340E perform? Very well is the answer, and considerably better than cheaper DVD players. 'What hifi' even suggest that the Toshiba SD340E performs aswell as £200 DVD players, so the quality is assured. The colour is natural, and provides a picture with deep darks and much clarity. After going through the specifications on the Toshiba website, which I might add is very easy to compare the differences between their laptops and is really quite helpful, I settled on an A200 series, as the new A210 series is based on AMD's processors and currently Intel's processors (CPU's) are a lot better at power management, thus give a longer battery life. This is the only difference between the A200 and A210 series. I had settled on one of the A200's, however as it is a laptop and I need to really be able to feel the weight of it, as I am not good at judging weights from a kilogram measure on a website, I went to various high street shops to see and have a quick play on the Toshiba A200's. Advantages: Fast, lots of features, easy to use

..., they will rival and beat any speakers on any other laptops around in my belief. Cons: The biggest problem I have had with my m30 has been the software modem. Because it is internal, the makers have had to make it very small, which has caused problems in the entire range of Toshiba satellites and a few other of toshiba’s laptop brands. Its smallness has caused the modem solder joints to be extremely weak and thus crack, breaking the joint and causing the computer to not be able to recognize the modem. I had this problem and it caused me great distress!!! But no fear! Warranty saved the day and the problem was fixed in less than 5 mins free of charge. It is a good modem however. It is quite fast and I have had no other problems with connection. Another problem is with the infra red port. Im not sure whether the problem is with my m30... Read review

...INFO I have been involved with Toshiba laptops for a few years now. First in having one as a work laptop and secondly supporting them for other users. Toshiba have the ability to create a laptop that is rugged enough to withstand daily use whilst being designed well enough to fit the daily use it was intended for. The Portege R200 is no exception and is an exceptional laptop for the business traveller. Once given the go ahead to buy a couple of these I couldn't wait to ditch the Dell equivalents. COST I managed to secure 2 R200 laptops for a mere £1234 each excluding VAT from Inmac. I have however seen one on EBAY last week for £994. Now that's cheap. FIRST THOUGHTS When the first R200 arrived I couldn't believe the size of the box. It's so small you would think it had a couple of paperback novels in it and not a PC... Read review

...with the special tft monitor cleaner, just put on a cloth and everything comes off and leaves the monitor nice and gleaming! This laptop is very easy to use for any computer whizz or dummy (like me), as it is very easy to get to grips with. It has taken me all of a week to figure out where programmes are and stuff on here, more used to a computer! The ease is just incredable.
