Toss out this Toshiba
Review of Toshiba Satellite 1800-204 - C 1 GHz - 13.3" TFT by  funphobic2

Advantages: Compact, good hard drive space and processing speed
Disadvantages: Its durability, and has become out-dated

...I’ve never really been interested in laptops, I’m more of a desktop girl myself, but when moving to university 3 years ago and having to live in a studio flat, my desktop just took up too much space. So I needed a laptop. Unfortunately, I had spent a lot of my loan on clothes and holiday’s (as you do!) so I had to find something on the cheaper side. Luckily I know a little about computers and knew pretty much what I needed; something compact, but with good processing speed and a large hard drive. So I went about my laptop shopping…. ***Why I chose Toshiba*** I popped into the Dixons in Watford and they had a couple of ex-display models on sale. I came across a Toshiba satellite 1800-204. I noticed a few people had a Toshiba Satellite notebook, and so it caught my eye immediately. It was made in 1999, and basic specs include... Read review

Toshiba Satellite Pro 4280XDVD
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro 4280 - PIII 500 MHz - 13.3" TFT by  Beeboystance

Advantages: very powerful fulfil's all your basic needs and then some
Disadvantages: screen can be annoying after a while, battery life only three hours.

...Toshiba are a very strong company in regards to their history of building notebooks. They are well established as robust and durable notebooks when dealing with business uses. The Toshiba I personally own I bought from ebay. It was extremely good value and I looked hard for a well specified machine. Buying direct from the Toshiba website would have actually cost me an additional $200 or so, and more importantly for a lower end machine. The beauty behind the Toshiba that I find makes it such a simple machine to use it comprise of basically three main aspects. The notebook comes with rescue disks that if everything goes wrong and you end up formatting the machine all teh factory defaults can be restored within an instant from the provided CD's. My machine came with Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows 98 SE. Giving me amazing... Read review

Satellite station
Review of Toshiba Satellite P200-155 - Core 2 Duo T5300 1.73 GHz - 17.1" TFT by  Miskah

Advantages: superb clarity, great sound, fast and responsive, well made
Disadvantages: very heavy

...kg (7 lb 3 oz) The pre-installed operating system is Windows Vista Premium and it has a DVD writer, Harman/Kardon stereo speakers, microphone, wireless LAN aerial and a Bluetooth aerial built in plus an integrated 1.3 Mega pixel webcam I will go through the rest of its specifications, but please bear in mind not all of the terms mean that much to me but both the IT guy and my own geek were quite impressed. This Toshiba Satellite has a 160GB Serial ATA-150 hard drive so it is quite spacious, It has an Intel Core 2 Duo T5300 / 1.73 GHz processor which is dual core with a data bus speed of 533 MHz. it has a Mobile Intel 945PM Express chipset. It comes with 1 GB RAM installed and will take up to 4GB. This machine now has 2 GB, the RAM being DDR II SDRAM - 667 MHz. there is a L2 Cache memory of 2 MB. This all equates to it being... MEET TOSH - He Keeps My Lap Hot
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 - C 750 MHz - 13.3" TFT by  LostWitness

Advantages: Fast processor, decent display
Disadvantages: Heavy, cumbersome and HOT!

...'s something you get used to - but I'm not sure you should have to. The Screen The built-in display comprises a thin-film transistor colour LCD and can be ordered in three different sizes - 13.3", 14.1" and 15.0". I ordered the 13.3" sized screen which is more than adequate. It also seems pretty likely that as the screen size increases, so does the overall weight of the unit, so my suggestion would be to stick to the smallest size. The resolution comprises 1024 horizontal by 768 vertical pixels (regardless of screen size) and the quality of image is good, although as with most laptops you can clearly see the pixels in photography or animation. Using the Keyboard I do not like the keyboard on this machine whatsoever. Although the base unit is sturdy and chunky, the keys of the keyboard are flimsy... Read review

Toshiba gaming laptop P100-286,
Review of Toshiba Satellite P100-286 - Core 2 Duo T7200 2 GHz - 17" TFT by  leontata

Advantages: powerful, Vista Home Premium
Disadvantages: 4200 rpm harddrive, unidentify Geforce 7900 card, 533 bus Ram

...It is obvious that this is the most powerful gaming laptop of Toshiba UK. Toshiba Satellite P100-286 is the replacement of its first gen : P100-347. Both have configuration, P100-286 doesn't have any improvement in hardware. However, updated with a new BIOS and new OS : Windows Vista Home Premium. The OS seems to work fine, sometimes there're still several bugs but they can easily fixed by updating on Microsoft website regularly. Being on the top of the line of Toshiba Gaming laptop, P100-286 comes with a very powerful laptop processor T7200 at 2.0 Ghz, 4Mb L2 Cache and Front Side Bus 667 Mhz. A massive Ram PC of 2Gb will support the processor even better if Bus speed is increased to 667 Mhz to fit with the FSB of T7200. Replacing that pair of Ram with 2x 1Gb PC 5300 would be a good idea. Capacity 200 Gb, certification : S... Read review

Toshiba Satellite M30 - Good Lookin Machine
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 - Pentium M 1.7 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  terence638l

Advantages: Fast, lots of features, easy to use
Disadvantages: Problems with internal modem, infra red port has short range

...The Toshiba satellite m30 pro is a thin and sleek laptop matching the looks and requirements for todays busy and on the move users. It is literally a desktop computer packed into a small, light and easy to use 1.6GHZ, 60 Gb memory HDD and 512 MB RAM machine. I have found it not only easy to use but also fun and hassle free most of the time. (With most problems the occasional usual thing that you get with computers) Features: - dual Harman/kardon speakers - Infrared port - Wireless lan - Internal Toshiba software modem - Dvd-r burner - Dvd player features (play, stop , etc buttons on the side of the laptop) - IEEE port - Serial port to add monitor - Expansion card slot - 3 USB ports - Multiple settings for battery use. Can alter power settings to extend the life of the battery to its maximum approx 8 hours life - Intel... Read review

Toshiba Satellite Pro A60
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 - Celeron D 335 2.8 GHz - 15" TFT by  scottergirdham

Advantages: Sturdy design Nice Blue colour Get a lot for your money
Disadvantages: Overheating/crashing problems experienced Memory upgrade was necessary Required a lot of tweaking to get 'right'

...The Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 laptop is ideal for entry level home users, and possibly students who have some time on their hands to sort stuff out. I wouldn't say it was suitable for the lower end of the business market, as Toshiba seem to be targeting with this product. I could be wrong however, maybe I was just unlucky! I have had mine for 8 months now, after previous satellite old faithful, which I had owned for about 7 years, gave up the ghost in the middle of a project, and I needed a cheap laptop quickly. I was impressed by the blue design which veers away from the boring black/grey you're used to seeing on the budget end notebooks. For the budget it was a toss up between this or a Dell, and in the end I decided to go for the Tosh which wasn't the bottom end of the scale like the Dell was for the same money. Due... Read review

Toshiba Satellite Pro
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro L10 - Pentium M 735 1.7 GHz - 15" TFT by  aj3001

Advantages: Fairly Cheap, stylish and looks good
Disadvantages: Battery life not amazing

...I purchased my laptop about 3 months ago and have found it a real delight. This was my first laptop and I think I have chosen something amazing, I chose a Toshbia over the Acers and other similar brands in the price range (excluding the lower spec laptops that have been rebranded). All normal capabilites are included, wireless internet (built in), 3 USB connections, ethernet, modem and media player buttons which prove very useful (Back, Forwards, Play/Pause, Stop, respectivly). I cannot at this time think of any disadvantages, it may be worth mentioning a broken "[[[[[[" key, where under keys they have several locking points, the lower locking points seem to have been broken so this key can come loose at times, however this could happen to any laptop and I believe it is more due to me rather than a Toshiba mistake. Looking over... Read review

Toshiba Satellite P200-155 Overcome on anothers
Review of Toshiba Satellite P200-155 - Core 2 Duo T5300 1.73 GHz - 17.1" TFT by  sobkawy

Advantages: Great Sound and Performance, High Screen Resolution
Disadvantages: None

...The Toshiba Satellite P200 -17C is the perfect laptop if you're looking for some gaming fun. Its 2D and 3D performance is impressive, while six USB ports are scattered around the machine. The speakers are excellent and Interacting with the P200 is a mixed bag because whilst the trackpad is great, the keyboard has a couple of flaws. The space bar feels as though it's about to pop off and the diminutive size of the 'Enter' button.Opting for screen size over mobility, the Toshiba Satellite P200-13Z is aimed at home multimedia use. With its dual-core processor, 17-inch screen and large keyboard, it suits desktop use where comfort is more important than portability. A thoroughly capable desktop replacement with plenty of storage and power, but it's pricey.... Read review
