Toshiba A210-11P portable computer, not laptop
Review of Toshiba Satellite A210-11P - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
mekon88
Advantages: Powerful, fast, quiet, good gaming
Disadvantages: Short battery 1 hour and a bit normally
...that the 1.8 core frequency is a little low for very heavy tasks but I haven't really had any problems in that department and I tend to abuse my laptop by making it do all manner of things at once.
The 200gb hard drive is nice and quiet and plenty spacious for most people.... I have filled mine but i am running windows vista, windows XP and ubuntu which all rather fill it up.
Windows XP can be installed on this machine for those that do not want to use vista, there are no major obstacles to this, toshiba provide drivers on their website for the major components, the webcam in fact doesn't even need a driver for XP weirdly enough.
Gaming is quite good on this laptop, with the orange box and quake 4 performing superbly :) crysis runs at medium settings playably, however in heavier scenes you may wish to lower the settings a little, however crysis...

cant beat a dell
Review of Dell Inspiron 1501 - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: its a dell
Disadvantages: none
...up from looking dull and boring to looking like a stylish machine anyone would want to own.
The screen is clearly sturdy and doesn’t wobble if you shake the laptop about, its also easy to open and close and doesn’t make horrible creaking sounds like some screens on other laptops do.
This laptop does run very fast, this is due to its combination of its very high spec 2 gb of ram and its AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology processor. This runs at speeds of 1.8 Ghz which is very fast, especially when running 2 gb of ram as well so they’ll be no problem in running those demanding programs, games or anything else really.
The hard drive is also of high spec too, its got a built in 160 GB - Serial ATA-150 hard drive which can process data at speeds of 5400 rpm, which is very quick, these high speeds make all the difference...

Review of Dell Inspiron 1501 - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
bazza111375
Advantages: cheap, reliable and very good
Disadvantages: none for what you pay
...Dell inspiron 1501 - turion 64 x2 - 15.4 TFT
This is oldest of the three Dell's i have in my house, but they are still avaliabale for sale on line. a great buy at a cheap price, overall the Dell is very good
With a large 15.4 screen the picture is very good, with a large ghapics card installed game and video are excellent.
connectivity is very good, on Wifi and easy to connect, good sound can get a bit distorted at higher levels of sound.
Well presented keyboard, mouse pad is easy to use, bnattery life can be a bit short on the standard battery, but a longer life battery is avaliable from most good stockist
If your looking for a good laptop for cheap try this one, i got mine on Ebay new with a one year warranty for £200...

Best budget machine by Toshiba
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-1B1 - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
ZiaFarhan
Advantages: Cash back, looks, Broad, bright display; comfortable keyboard
Disadvantages: Unimpressive battery life
...I have never seen or used a Toshiba AMD based laptop that was better than this particular piece of kit
This is definately a budget machine which is a perfect desktop replacement with a sleek design and attractive display that would appeal.
Pros: Broad, bright display; comfortable keyboard, new measures that Toshiba has taken to insure quality and the look
Cons: Unimpressive battery life; glossy screen finish produces reflections;
Verdict: The inexpensive Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-1B1 laptop offers enough features and performance oomph for basic business tasks, but its AMD processor may disappoint hard-core multitaskers. Does not over warm up so thats good news for travellers like myself. Is very good value for money, looking at prices of different stores like Technoworld (by now you should all know it is my...

A Great Laptop
Review of HP Pavilion dv6095ea Entertainment - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 - 15.4" TFT by
6heads
Advantages: Screen, Processor, Ram
Disadvantages: Robbed HD Space
.... Finally above this is a metal great where the speakers are, not the most attractive however it is the way all Altec Lansing speakers are designed and the quality makes up for the looks.
~~~Power~~~
The basic specs of the DV6095:
- AMD Turion X2 Mobile Technology TL-56
- 2048MB Ram
- 100GB HD
- Lightscribe DVD Burner (Dual Layer)
- 128MB PCI-e NVIDA GeForce Go 7200
- 15.4\" WXGA Widescreen
- Windows Media Centre 2005
- WLAN
For a start the processing power for such a small machine is simply exceptional and easily allows me to convert a file to DVD while surfing the web or writing reviews. The processing power is provided by an AMD 1.81GHz dual core which should be more than enough for any laptop user. The hard drive on this computer is great at 100GB however this is one of the most annoying parts of the system as although...
great laptop
Review of Acer TravelMate 5514WLMi - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 - 15.4" TFT by
punk_rocker
Advantages: protable
Disadvantages: no gaming
...again like all the travelmates this laptop is specifically designed for those working people. it just makes working on your laptop that little bit easier.
most acers however don't look very stylish, however there is an element to this that acer have actually tried to make this one look nice for a change. there are better looking laptops out there but I think this travelmate actually looks pretty good. however it does still look a bit bulky compared to the newer laptops out there.
This features a turion 64x2 processor which runs the 1gb installed ram like a dream. Another great thing about this laptop is that the ram can be upgraded to 4gb, this isn't cheap however and could cost over £100 to upgrade it to 4gb of ram, however this would make the laptop run so much faster so if you do need a really fast laptop then this is possible...
Good general laptop
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-1B1 - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
mrs_mccartney
Advantages: Sturdy, practical, does its job well.
Disadvantages: Not a good entertainment centre, terrible battery life.
...This was my first ever laptop and it's good value for money. Before buying, I spoke to someone I know who repairs laptops and he told me Toshiba is the one brand he never sees being returned.
There's not lots of features although it comes with Premium Home Vista as opposed to Basic which some laptops in the same price bracket have instead of it.
Battery life is appalling, about an hour if you do not plug it in, and this is very disappointing. On the plus side, it is very hardy as I have bashed it around and dropped it being clumsy and nothing is broken!!
The DVD player does not always work so well either at times and fails to play....
