...Toshiba Satellite Pro A100-830 I aquired one of these laptops as a Christmas present, and I was presently suprised at how fast this laptop was! ...The Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 laptop is ideal for entry level home users, and possibly students who have some time on their hands to sort stuff out. I wouldn't say it was suitable for the lower end of the business market, as Toshiba seem to be targeting with this product. I could be wrong however, maybe I was just unlucky! I have had mine for 8 months now, after previous satellite old faithful, which I had owned for about 7 years, gave up the ghost in the middle of a project, and I needed a cheap laptop quickly. I was impressed by the blue design which veers away from the boring black/grey you're used to seeing on the budget end notebooks. For the budget it was a toss up between this or a Dell, and in the end I decided to go for the Tosh which wasn't the bottom end of the scale like the Dell was for the same money. Due... Read review

....3 kg (7 lb 3 oz) The pre-installed operating system is Windows Vista Premium and it has a DVD writer, Harman/Kardon stereo speakers, microphone, wireless LAN aerial and a Bluetooth aerial built in plus an integrated 1.3 Mega pixel webcam I will go through the rest of its specifications, but please bear in mind not all of the terms mean that much to me but both the IT guy and my own geek were quite impressed. .... The simple solution is to prop up the laptop so that the underside vent can suck enough cool air into the casing. I routinely prop up my laptop with a book. Its very effective but obviously not ideal! In all other respects the machine is solid and reliable. Specification Intel Celeron 2.80GHz 256MB RAM 40Gb Hitachi Hard drive Toshiba DVD-ROM 14.1 TFT SoundMAX Digital Audio Software Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2. ...It is obvious that this is the most powerful gaming laptop of Toshiba UK. Toshiba Satellite P100-286 is the replacement of its first gen : P100-347. Both have configuration, P100-286 doesn't have any improvement in hardware. However, updated with a new BIOS and new OS : Windows Vista Home Premium. The OS seems to work fine, sometimes there're still several bugs but they can easily fixed by updating on Microsoft website regularly. Being on the top of the line of Toshiba Gaming laptop, P100-286 comes with a very powerful laptop processor T7200 at 2.0 Ghz, 4Mb L2 Cache and Front Side Bus 667 Mhz. A massive Ram PC of 2Gb will support the processor even better if Bus speed is increased to 667 Mhz to fit with the FSB of T7200. Replacing that pair of Ram with 2x 1Gb PC 5300 would be a good idea. ...my laptop, the only thing I didn't appreciate was all the stickers over the inside (to the left of the mouse pad), there is a "Desiged for XP" sticker, and "Intel Inside" sticker, one "Bundled with MS OneNote 2003" and a final "Surround Sound" which personally I dont like (hense I removed the last two) I have recomended this laptop to other people who have been looking, Toshiba have many different spec's in the Satellite Pro models, and the final thing about this laptop, the name, "what laptop do you have?" ...Firstly I will say that I have the Toshiba Satellite Pro P100-188 (I just looked at the bottom of my laptop hehe). It's been in my life for a good 3-4 years and I love it to bits. It's my faithful old laptop but I do regret that I may have to replace it soon, due to it just getting old, wear and tear and all that jazz. Well, here's my view on my lovely aged laptop. I got old copper (my nickname for it because of its copper orange lid) for my birthday and I found the receipt in my mum's emails (I was and still am a terror for reading emails!) for somewhere way over £1000, this was when the satellite pro was a top of the range laptop and laptops were a lot more expensive.
