Toshiba 29 inch TV - A Beast
Review of Toshiba 2987DB by
cash40
Advantages: Quality overall piece. Very worthy of it's price tag
Disadvantages: They don't have the name of Sony
...reduction, which pretty much eliminates all of the speckeldy fuzz you get on old videos, or where you don't get great reception. On a big telly, a poor signal looks nasty, but this, along with the clever auto tuning gets you great signal every time. Sky Digital looks pristine!
In this day and age you expect TV to live for a few years, 5 or 6 at a push, as all that modern technology has a nice habit of breaking the day the warranty expires. I get the distinct feeling that Toshiba do things differently, maybe it’s because of the Toshiba telly I've had since I was aged minus two years, which is still in perfect working condition, and has outlived countless other TV's. (I'm 18 by the way) From my experience, and from what I have heard, the tv's are built to last, mine is certainly a sturdy piece of kit (weighing something like 15 stone...

Toss out this Toshiba
Review of Toshiba Satellite 1800-204 - C 1 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
funphobic2
Advantages: Compact, good hard drive space and processing speed
Disadvantages: Its durability, and has become out-dated
...a whole new connection, which is now permanently attached to the laptop, which I use to connect the lead to. I also had to buy a new AC adapter, which cost me £90 from Partmasters Direct, who do pretty much any part for a Toshiba laptop. I now have to keep the laptop permanently plugged in, which defeats the object of taking it to Uni. Also, after a year, the ‘m’ key on the keyboard became loose, and to this very day it still refuses to go back in its little slot. Maybe it’s because it was an ex-display, or it could be just my carelessness. We’ll never know.
***Ease of use***
Because of Windows XP, the laptop is very easy to use, and as I mentioned before, it is all setup for you so the fun can begin as soon as you press the power button! Another good feature is the LED indicators located on the hinge of the screen, which tell you when...

Toshiba RDXV47 - An absolute dream!!
Review of Toshiba RD-XV47 by
Simmo65
Advantages: Combines all DVD/VCR features into one very attractive neat package
Disadvantages: None that I have found to date!!
...WOW……………..and I really mean WOW, with a capital W…….O……..W!!!! I've been looking to upgrade my domestic DVD player/recorder capabilities for some time but have always been put off by the prices of the all singing all dancing combi units. I've watched the few products available with interest thinking prices would drop but this did not happen. Then, out of the blue, I stumbled across the Toshiba RD-XV45 which combined a DVD player/recorder, VCR and hard disc drive. The price was dramatically lower than the few other 3 in 1's on the market (Panasonic & JVC I believe) and so I started researching if it was as good as it seemed. The one drawback seemed to be that it would only support the DVD-R/RW format. However, the RD-XV47 then sneeked (or is that snuck??) unobtrusively onto the market and it's specs showed that it will support both...

Toshiba E740 - Good in Theory?
Review of Toshiba Pocket PC E740 by
bluerose28
Advantages: New 400Mhz processor**Good neat design**64Mb in-built memory
Disadvantages: Cannot support Pocket PC 2003**A bit buggy
...the latest news and weather reports onto my pocket pc. You can set this up using Active Sync, and it's very easy to do. Every day all you have to do is sync it and these things automatically go onto your pocket pc, which is handy and doesn't involve a lot of work on your part. It's good for reading when you are on the move, instead of a newspaper, you can recieve info from a number of different sources you pick yourself. I've had no problems doing this.
I bought this Toshiba E740 for £200 from ebay, and I'd say that is still about the same price as now....

Best budget machine by Toshiba
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-1B1 - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
ZiaFarhan
Advantages: Cash back, looks, Broad, bright display; comfortable keyboard
Disadvantages: Unimpressive battery life
...I have never seen or used a Toshiba AMD based laptop that was better than this particular piece of kit
This is definately a budget machine which is a perfect desktop replacement with a sleek design and attractive display that would appeal.
Pros: Broad, bright display; comfortable keyboard, new measures that Toshiba has taken to insure quality and the look
Cons: Unimpressive battery life; glossy screen finish produces reflections;
Verdict: The inexpensive Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-1B1 laptop offers enough features and performance oomph for basic business tasks, but its AMD processor may disappoint hard-core multitaskers. Does not over warm up so thats good news for travellers like myself. Is very good value for money, looking at prices of different stores like Technoworld (by now you should all know it is my...

Toshiba G40 delivers
Review of Toshiba gigabeat MEG-F40 40 GB by
cfordg23
Advantages: Versatility with updated firmware from Toshiba
Disadvantages: Clunky navigation, distortion of certain equalizer settings
...Acquistion of this unit was something of a gamble. I had only read the cursory review of in on ConsumerSearch which rated it as the nearest competitor to iPod. Having had very frustrating experience with the "syncing" aspects of iTunes, in which I had to "Resore" the unit more than once with "corrupted" files (much time lost in compiling the files in the process), I impulsively went with an eBay acquisition of this unit for about $115 a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately, the seller had contacted Toshiba to acquire an "Update Disc Gigabeat 'MEGF' Series Ver. 3" (recommended for all users!), included with the unit, which may have spared me much headache in resolving the "Firmware" issues I've read much about this unit. It was a pain getting the unit to load up on my computer (it couldn't with my desktop, but fortunately did with my Sony...

Crunchy Laptop Wafer
Review of Toshiba Portege R200 - Pentium M 773 1.3 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
bagoproverbial
Advantages: Light, looks great, dependable
Disadvantages: Not for heavy applications
...An odd title for a review, I know, but this is a fairly odd laptop- as far as I'm concerned at least- mainly because I actually *like* it and haven't got tired of carrying it around.
COST
Around £1200 all in all, included Windows XP, with service pack 2 plus lots of Toshiba software, most of which isn't really required.
DESIGN
The laptop in question is the Toshiba Portege R200. When you take it out of the box, the first thing you will notice is the attractive, sleek silver look to it. It certainly looks the part for anyone wanting to take their laptop to a conference and hoping to make a good impression with a worthwhile machine. It has a nice silver, ultra-slim design and certainly looks the part. Although compact, the keyboard is easy to use (as eas to use as any other laptop keyboard, anyway).
WEIGHT
The second...

My Toshiba Tecra M2 - Warming up to Progress
Review of Toshiba Tecra M2 - Pentium M 745 1.8 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
BawBaw
Advantages: Light, versatile, packed with features
Disadvantages: It's still a laptop
....)
◄Bits and Bobs►
The edges of the Tecra are loaded with discretely embedded features. There is an on-off switch for the wireless antenna, a system indicator panel, and a microphone jack. Two UBS ports, a PC card slot, an SD card slot, an S-video port, a Network port, and an i.LINK port are also provided. Other ports are provided for an RGB monitor and a modem, ang of course there is a parallel port.
◄Warranty►
To date, I've had no problems with my Tecra M2. If servicing were necessary, it would be coordinated by my company's IT service. But if there are problems, the IT folks won't hesitate to tap the 3-year warranty for parts and labor. The battery has a 1-year warranty.
◄Price►
My company purchased my Toshiba Tecra M2 though an arrangement that resulted in a hefty discount...

Toshiba tv model 21S23B
Review of Toshiba 21S23B by
choclab
Advantages: It's silver
Disadvantages: everything
...go and so I searched we pages for reveiws and repair info for that particular model and lo and behold I'm not the only one with this sort of problem or attitude from Toshiba who on their website pride themselves on product reliability and customer service! Yeah right!
I took my tv to be reparied through a local reparier who said oh no not that model, don't tell me the standby button blew up! No absolutely not a known problem, then how come the tv repair mans response was that. He told me there was little hope of fixing it but gave it a try, and so he replaced the offending part and yes you guessed it blew up again.
I will never ever again after this experience buy anything from toshiba again, most of all because of their appalling customer service and the fact that they would not take responsibility for a product that they must...
