Advantages: Robust, powerful, functionally superior to the competition. All you could ask for from a tablet pc.
Disadvantages: Can get hot, but nothing to worry about, battery life shorter than with other models (3.5hrs), heavier than the competition making it awkward for the true mobile user.

...Over the past few months, I have been evaluating and rolling out tablet PC's across my organisation within the Health industry. My evaluation has covered the HP Compaq TC1100, the Motion M1200, the Fujitsu Stylistic ST4120, and the Toshiba Portégé 3500. What follows is a brief discussion of the Toshiba Portege 3500 which I hope will give users some guidance and prove informative. Of all the tablet PC's currently on the market the Toshiba Portégé 3500 has the best performance of all the systems because it uses the Intel Pentium III-M 1.33 GHz processor and a fast hard drive. Perhaps as a consequence of the faster processor, the Toshiba is also the hottest and noisiest; it is the only Tablet PC I have used which utilises a case fan. ...as at hotspots. This may be attractive to any (rich) people who need to look at their emails immediately or watch a very important video on youtube. The price of the computer isn't too steep either, about the same as most extra-portable or tablet PCs are nowadays. Overall this is a great computer, I would highly recommend this or one of the m700 range - exactly the same as this but with a touch screen, not just using the stylus. .... Unfortunately, the software is very poor and this feature has worked inconsistently for me. I have always liked Toshibas - this machine replaced my Toshiba M205 convertible tablet - and the Libretto is no exception. I would not have purchased it at full price, but at a couple hundred dollars off it was a good deal. It is very well built, and I appreciated the portability and battery life while I was traveling Combined with 2 USB ports, built-in wireless, Firewire, Bluetooth and video-out (through a dongle) the Libretto can handle almost any task you throw at it. You have to ask yourself, however, if you can put up with the keyboard, get used to it, or get around it. Because that is the only issue that would take me back to a full-size notebook.... ...This laptop is has by far one of the most original designs I have ever had the pleasure of using. The screen rotates 180 degrees and the folds down and locks to become a tablet computer. It contains a digitiser which should not be confused with a touchscreen computer, the laptop will only respond to a special pen. The pen stylishly slides out of the side of the laptop with a cool push to release mechanism. The screen resolution is unbelievably high for the size of the screen. Its resolution is 1440x900 (the default res for 19" monitors) and screen size is 12.1". The only problem with having such a high res on a small screen is that your icons and text becomes quite small and sometimes unreadable but you can easily change the text size Unlike a lot of laptops around it doesn't get ridiculously hot whilst running for a few hours... ...DVD was launched commercial over 10 years ago. The major manufacturers made the mistake of not licensing the technology appropriately and subsequently the cost of DVD players has fallen dramatically within the past 5 years. Some people may find it hard to justify the cost of a DVD player when they can picked up for £30, but I am going to write this review to communicate the advantages of having a medium range quality DVD player. So firstly, why Toshiba? Toshiba have an excellant reputation for producing quality products for a great price. There are some manufacturers such as Sony, that in my opinion rely too much on their brand image to sell the good. Toshiba both provide an excellant product, more importantly quality and value. I'm a bit of a spend thrift so was looking through the Sainsbury's aisles for some cheap dishwasher tablets. I had run out and didn't want to buy a lot of tablets until I was able to go and buy some tablets at wholesale prices. I noticed this at the top of the shelf because it was on offer. 25 tablets for £1.99, saving a 1/3 off the normal price.
