M200
Review of Toshiba Portege M200 - Pentium M 755 2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by  mudmank

Advantages: Overall quality, specification.
Disadvantages: I cant think of any.

...Basic overview: The portege m200 is a nifty little item. you can use it as a normal laptop but also have the ability to swivel the screen round and make it lie flat like a tablet. it comes with a tablet pen so you can write on the screen whenever. I will say that in this review i am going to give my opinion and what i have experienced, i am not going to list all its features, just things that i love and the not so good parts. first of all, it is a well rounded machine, i can play call of duty 2 on it which is impressive, my 2ghz celeron desktop had problems running that. the graphics card will not dissapoint, and the 2GHZ centrino is a blessing, i can do lots on the laptop and not experience any problems. I was dissapointed by the fact it came with no internal drives, mine came with an external USB floppy drive but i am... Read review

Nice screen, shame about the keyboard
Review of Toshiba Portege M200 - Pentium M 755 2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by  abdrewawolfe

Advantages: fantastic screen
Disadvantages: keyboard is a bit bouncy, usbs in wrong place as laptop

...Introduction ---------------- I have already reviewed our company standard laptop, the HP NC6120, well that standard just got replaced. My boss sent me the spec of a Toshiba Portege M200 that he was considering as his, much older, laptop can not run the applications that he now needs - What did I think? Specification ------------------ Firstly the Portege M200 is a convertible Notebook/Tablet. You can use it like a normal notebook or you can revolve the screen round 180degrees, close it flat and pull the stylus out. You then have the device in "slate mode" where it is used without keyboard. There is a very good note on the machine about this, don't turn it too fast. As a notebook, it's a bit smaller than average and a bit lighter however there is no CD or DVD drive of any sort. This is fairly normal with tablets and makes... Read review

Best value tablet / laptop hybrid
Review of Toshiba Portege M200 - Pentium M 725 1.6 GHz - 12.1" TFT by  gothicbob

Advantages: Price, Build quality, Features
Disadvantages: Quite old now, Not fast compared to newer laptops, No CD drive

...This laptop is has by far one of the most original designs I have ever had the pleasure of using. The screen rotates 180 degrees and the folds down and locks to become a tablet computer. It contains a digitiser which should not be confused with a touchscreen computer, the laptop will only respond to a special pen. The pen stylishly slides out of the side of the laptop with a cool push to release mechanism. The screen resolution is unbelievably high for the size of the screen. Its resolution is 1440x900 (the default res for 19" monitors) and screen size is 12.1". The only problem with having such a high res on a small screen is that your icons and text becomes quite small and sometimes unreadable but you can easily change the text size Unlike a lot of laptops around it doesn't get ridiculously hot whilst running for a few hours... Laptop of the Future?
Review of Toshiba Portege M200 - Pentium M 745 1.8 GHz - 12.1" TFT by  lukeshunni05

Advantages: easy to use and great for traveling
Disadvantages: expensive

...The "Toshiba Portege M200" is a state of the art laptop which provide the user with not only the usual laptop features but also allows the user to twist the screen 180 degrees and fold it down into a tablet and wirte on it as if it were a piece of a paper with the pen provided. You can also lasoo any work and change it into text format or print it off in the form of your own handwriting. In using this laptop i have found it very easy to use and great for doing coursework on and using to write my notes on in my lessons as i am currently studying at college and it prevents me from loosing any of my work. It is also easy to carry around and because it is light it does not become annoying to carry around. Style. 5/5 The laptop is thin and light. It comes in a stlyish silver colour so it appears as modern as it is. The pen slots... Read review

Lightweight Tablet Notebook
Review of Toshiba Portege M200 - Pentium M 755 2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by  schwana

Advantages: Long battery life, eaasy to use in tablet mode, quick
Disadvantages: Needs a spare pen, keyboard layout.

...General I have been using this tablet for two years now, both at home and work, and I'm so impressed with it that it has become my main computer, replacing both my work and home desktop. By connecting an external USB keyboard and mouse, the tablet can be propped up in the portrait configuration, which is great for writing documents, and is cheaper than buying the docking station! This also takes advantage of the USB ports being on the rear of the tablet rather than on the side. Ease of Use The tablet is very light, and has a battery life of over 4 hours. This makes it ideal for walking around making notes in my work environment, as well as taking to meetings where its always a talking point. I've had no problems with the handwriting recognition, though a spare tablet pen would be nice! The keyboard feels oddly set out... Read review

Toshiba Portege 3500 - Best of breed, but heavy
Review of Toshiba Portege 3500 - PIII-M 1.33 GHz - 12.1" TFT by  maxmidnight

Advantages: Robust, powerful, functionally superior to the competition. All you could ask for from a tablet pc.
Disadvantages: Can get hot, but nothing to worry about, battery life shorter than with other models (3.5hrs), heavier than the competition making it awkward for the true mobile user.

...Over the past few months, I have been evaluating and rolling out tablet PC's across my organisation within the Health industry. My evaluation has covered the HP Compaq TC1100, the Motion M1200, the Fujitsu Stylistic ST4120, and the Toshiba Portégé 3500. What follows is a brief discussion of the Toshiba Portege 3500 which I hope will give users some guidance and prove informative. Of all the tablet PC's currently on the market the Toshiba Portégé 3500 has the best performance of all the systems because it uses the Intel Pentium III-M 1.33 GHz processor and a fast hard drive. Perhaps as a consequence of the faster processor, the Toshiba is also the hottest and noisiest; it is the only Tablet PC I have used which utilises a case fan. Furthermore, it has the shortest battery life (3:05 versus 3:25 for the top-scoring Fujitsu). Unlike... Read review

Top of the range Toshiba
Review of Toshiba Portege M400-3G143 - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 12.1" TFT by  xxsupergirlxo

Advantages: Great value for what it is, very portable, durable, useful, good screen, fun to use
Disadvantages: Easily breakable keys, no touch screen, only stylus/lightpen useable not fingers.

...as at hotspots. This may be attractive to any (rich) people who need to look at their emails immediately or watch a very important video on youtube. The price of the computer isn't too steep either, about the same as most extra-portable or tablet PCs are nowadays. Overall this is a great computer, I would highly recommend this or one of the m700 range - exactly the same as this but with a touch screen, not just using the stylus. Congratulations, Toshiba, for making another excellent creation for us all to enjoy!... Read review

Living with a Toshiba Libretto U100
Review of Toshiba Libretto U100 - Pentium M 753 1.2 GHz - 7.2" TFT - with docking station by  tasfalen

Advantages: Storage Speed Battery Convenience
Disadvantages: Keyboard Biometrics

.... Unfortunately, the software is very poor and this feature has worked inconsistently for me. I have always liked Toshibas - this machine replaced my Toshiba M205 convertible tablet - and the Libretto is no exception. I would not have purchased it at full price, but at a couple hundred dollars off it was a good deal. It is very well built, and I appreciated the portability and battery life while I was traveling Combined with 2 USB ports, built-in wireless, Firewire, Bluetooth and video-out (through a dongle) the Libretto can handle almost any task you throw at it. You have to ask yourself, however, if you can put up with the keyboard, get used to it, or get around it. Because that is the only issue that would take me back to a full-size notebook.... Slim Toshiba DVD player performs well
Review of Toshiba SD340E by  bowdeni

Advantages: Multi Region, Good picture, slim, durable
Disadvantages: No Scart, not a recorder

...could find slimmer DVD players, many will comprimise on picture and sound quality. The Toshiba SD340E is a DVD player that will look asethically pleasing under a TV. I already antiscipated that the Toshiba SD340E would not contain a scart lead and bought a fairly decent £20 one myself. You can pick them up much cheaper, but I would recommend that when using a DVD player the quality of the Toshiba SD340E , I'd suggest spending about the same as me, the difference is apparent. So how does the Toshiba SD340E perform? Very well is the answer, and considerably better than cheaper DVD players. 'What hifi' even suggest that the Toshiba SD340E performs aswell as £200 DVD players, so the quality is assured. The colour is natural, and provides a picture with deep darks and much clarity. Audio wise, the Toshiba SD340E performs just aswell. I have... Read review

Toshiba A200 - 195
Review of Toshiba Satellite A200-195 Laptop by  JJS77

Advantages: Light, Fast, Looks nice, Reliable, Value.
Disadvantages: Doesn't have a built in webcam or Bluetooth connectivity.

...with the good value. After going through the specifications on the Toshiba website, which I might add is very easy to compare the differences between their laptops and is really quite helpful, I settled on an A200 series, as the new A210 series is based on AMD's processors and currently Intel's processors (CPU's) are a lot better at power management, thus give a longer battery life. This is the only difference between the A200 and A210 series. I had settled on one of the A200's, however as it is a laptop and I need to really be able to feel the weight of it, as I am not good at judging weights from a kilogram measure on a website, I went to various high street shops to see and have a quick play on the Toshiba A200's. I went to PC World, Dixons, Currys etc, all the staff seemed to echo the reviews I had read on the internet about Toshiba being one... Read review
