My Toshiba Tecra M2 - Warming up to Progress
Advantages: Light, versatile, packed with features
Disadvantages: It's still a laptop
...Let me make it perfectly clear right up front: I'm not overfond of laptops. They're relatively small, usually have rather fuzzy screens, come with small keyboards that make typing difficult, and have strange built-in mice that are nigh onto impossible to manipulate. Given my durthers, I'll take a full-sized PC any day.
Despite all these disclaimers, my purpose here to review the Toshiba Tecra M2 notebook, kindly purchased for me by my company to make me more efficient and productive. Now don't get me wrong. I appreciate the sentiments and the logic of the new laptop, even though I use it far less often than my more powerful, less portable desktop. But I have to admit, my Tecra M2 isn't as bad as I feared.
Talk about damning with faint praise! Perhaps I can improve a bit on that. There's one thing my Toshiba does remarkable...

Toshiba Equium
Advantages: Value For money
Disadvantages: No Bluetooth
...i first bought a Toshiba around about 4 or 5 years ago, it was a toshiba tecra m3, it was a lovely laptop until i dropped it and broke it, i decided that i would replace it with another toshiba because of the previous good reliability i had got from the machine, i thing that attracted me to this laptop was firstly the fact it was an operating system upgrade for me and secondly the superior specifications, the only down side being that there is no integrated bluetooth and trusted security platform, i found that the offers that were available at the time of purchase were very reasonable and i feel i got great value for money, i also think that the designer of this laptop has taken very great care with the general look and feel of the laptop and have put a lot of thought into the hardware they have supplied and it holds pride of place...

Toshiba Tecra A3
Advantages: Portable, easy to use
Disadvantages: There are better laptops available for the price
...I decided to use a laptop as I'm constantly running from college, to uni to home to london! I needed a laptop that would be easily transportable, with long enough battery life to last. I chose this laptop as it was simple and came with Microsoft Office and Anti-Virus. I would only be using it for my college/uni work so it seemed to suit my needs
It is relatively low-spec, although you can buy additional memory but I would not use it for gaming, essentially its a student laptop.
It is quite light (2.7kg) and it's relatively small (33.8cm x 28cm x 3.7cm) this all adds up to make it very easily transportable. I havent bought a carry-case for it because Ive had no need for one, it is small enough and light enough to fit nicely under my arm.
It is very robust, even with the amount it has been transported it has only a few minor...

Typical Toshiba
Advantages: Ease of use, memory capacity
Disadvantages: Quality, feel, value for money
...The Toshiba Satellite L500 is the same as most other toshiba laptops. It looks stylish and can do all the basic functions that you would want for a laptop. However, when you use it, you dont feel very comfortable because it feels very cheap. The keyboard is very flimsy and feels like it is about to break every time you type something and the mouse pad and buttons do not respond well. However, the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard is great as it makes it so easy to type numbers. You can buy this laptop with a range of processors and sizes of harddrive so you can choose the one which suits you best. The display is actually very good but the battery life could have been improved. On my model it will last for a maximum of 2.5 hours on its lowest power setting.
Overall, this laptop is reasonable at most things but not...

Review of Toshiba Tecra A9 Laptop computer
Advantages: Lightweight, powerful, strong, long battery life. Excellent toshiba software. Quiet. Filter on CPU vent
Disadvantages: Headphone port at the front. Tiny trackpad. Creaks a lot. Screen not that good
...a sweat. The graphics preformance of the laptop, though lacking slightly on the 3D and gaming side, excells at HD playback, which is as smooth as one could want.
However, there are some shortfalls. The toshiba software is a little annoying and does slow the machine down a little, and sometimes doesn't work. For example, you can't change the screen brightness and or you can't lock the computer and it wont shut down. The headphone port placed at the front of the laptop below the trackpad is quite odd and I am always knocking into it, and resting on it when I am using the laptop. It also doesn't fare well when watching a DVD (DVD playback preformance is very good and smooth by the way) it can get in the way.
The laptop is also rather creaky, and there is some bending of the plastic in certain areas. The screen also seems to be comming...

Save up some dosh to buy this Tosh...iba
Advantages: Fast, Portable, Comfortable and Sleek, HD Resolution, Toshiba support is brilliant!
Disadvantages: Awful grapics card, Not very durable, Speaker volume isn't fab...
...that law legal. So the laptop, it's got plenty of positives and only a few negatives. And if you've read my other reviews, I like to get the negatives out of the way first.
NEGATIVES
I'll get straight to the point, the graphics card is seriously bad, there's no way around it. It's a new thing where your computers RAM is used to power some of the graphics, like video and pictures. However this won't work with high-end games like the Call of Duty series or Crysis. This however, isn't a laptop you'd buy if you were wanting one for gaming, so it's not a major draw back. Another bad point is the durability, which isn't great. The lid can be pushed in, revealing it is fairly hollow apart from the screen and its components. I thought this a bit stupid as Toshiba are just wasting money making more material, why not just make it thin and tight guys...

Why Buy a Tecra?
Advantages: Fast, Great Graphics Chip, Light (2.6kg)
Disadvantages: Expensive, Sensitive to registry changes
...Why did I buy the Tecra 8100?
First of all what I wanted was a desktop replacement machine, one on which I could do all my spreadsheet and word stuff as well as play games. I am an engineer so I need good connectivity options as well.
The choice was:-
Dell Inspiron 3800, 5000, 7500
Toshiba Tecra 8100
HP Omnibook 6000
The Dells are very good machines, I used to old an old 7000 series. The 3800 is light and quite quick, the 5000 has all the multimedia features you need, the 7500 has even more. But... The 3800 is not meant to be used as a desktop replacement, it doesn't have the oomph for that. The 5000 and 7000 are great machines but heavy.
The HP Omnibook is the machine I would probably buy by choice except that it is very expensive and uses the ATI graphics card
The Tecra is not as expensive as the Omnibook and uses...

A good business laptop, at a price...
Advantages: Lightweight, In-Built Wireless
Disadvantages: Keyboard, Price, only 2 USB ports
...The Toshiba Tecra M2 is aimed squarely at the business market (I'm writing this review from my work Tecra laptop!) and is a good, if not brilliant, option for the mobile business worker. The 1.6Ghz processor, 512MB memory and 40GB hard drive (on the standard model) aren't going to give you the ultimate laptop gaming experience, but this machine is aimed squarely at the business market.
For business users the main benefits are the in-built Centrino mobile processor, which avoids the need for any fiddly USB or PCMCIA card wireless add-ons and the lightweight design which makes this model particularly suitable for the busy business exec who regularly works away from the office.
The standard OS build is Windows XP Professional Edition. On top of the standard XP utilities, Toshiba have bundled some useful tools included a wireless...

A powerful laptop for a businessman
Advantages: Very fast and reliable and a very long lasting battery
Disadvantages: Changing/upgrading the memory
...Hi there,
I?m coming back to a positive opinion, this time about a top specs laptop from Toshiba, a Toshiba Tecra with a IntelŽ Centrino? Mobile 1.7GHz Processor
First of all, I?ll tell you the feeling I had about the laptop and my personal experience with it, then I'll put all the specs for the laptop, so any technical people (like me) can see what's all about this beauty
My first impression when I?ve seen it was was not particularly ?WOW?. It looks very nice, with a silver lid, but everything else, when you open the lid is black, apart from the TouchPad, which is also silver and some other bits, which are silver I don?t particularly like this color schema (silver/black), but it wasn?t bad in the end (I don?t want to be picky).
The laptop is very fast (and I really mean it), the booting up for XP was slightly better than my...
