Living with a Toshiba Libretto U100
Review of Toshiba Libretto U100 - Pentium M 753 1.2 GHz - 7.2" TFT - with docking station by
tasfalen
Advantages: Storage Speed Battery Convenience
Disadvantages: Keyboard Biometrics
...The Toshiba Libretto U100 is a sub-notebook, similar to Fujitsu's Lifebook or the trendy OQO. It packs a full-featured PC into a very small package. In this case: a Pentium M 1.2Ghz with 512MB RAM, 60GB HD and a 7.2" widescreen running Windows XP Home.
I purchased my Libretto about a month ago in preparation for traveling to a conference. A local big box store had them on clearance, including the optional dock. The dock adds a DVD multi-recorder.
Maximum power combined with maximum portability were my primary considerations in purchasing a new notebook, and I have been pleased with the Libretto. Its a unique machine, however, and not without issues relating to its novelty.
Some of the positive aspects of my experience with the Libretto:
Storage: the Libretto has a 60GB HD, unusual for a sub-notebook and a good size...

D-link DP-300U for all your printing needs
Review of D-Link DP 300U by
craggybuk
Advantages: Link upto 3 printers on 1 IP address. Simple setup
Disadvantages: None
...Where I work, we have always purchased the HP Jetdirect print server devices. However, when we bought a whole load of Magicard badge printers we found out after several painful days that these only worked with the D-link DP300u print servers due to some strange setting within the printer. With this information, we were forced into buying the D-link blind with no time to do any background research or fact finding.
The D-link is a 3 port print server, 2 ports are serial with the other being USB. This means that upto 3 printers can be attached to the print server at any one time. At the time we bought them, they were around £80 each.
--Whats in the box--
The D-link print server comes in a very compact box with just enough room for the components. There is the print server itself which is nicely designed to comply...

size doesnt always matter
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro U300-148 - Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: size, looks, portability
Disadvantages: ram
...I have decided to review this laptop for a few reasons, firstly because it’s a good honest laptop, that will probably interest many people.
The second and most important is that in this age of technology we are now looking for and developing new laptops that are smaller, look cooler and are more portable than ever before, so this is one of those you would love to own if you need something portable to take on your travels.
This is actually a Toshiba, they are not really that well know for making laptops but are no doubt getting more and more credit with every new laptop they make. I think in the future this company will be a lot better known for making laptops as opposed to TV’s as they are at the minute simply because there laptops a so good.
This laptop looks great, its combining of the colours black and silver on its...

Toshiba Portege G500 - Business on the go
Review of Toshiba Portégé G500 by
yassarikhan786
Advantages: Finger print recognition, GPS functionality, video calling
Disadvantages: High price, average features.
...The Toshiba Portege G500 was one of two smart phones released in the second quarter of 2007. However, with the introduction of Microsoft's new mobile operating system (Windows Mobile 6), Toshiba decided not to integrate the new system within the Toshiba Portege G500. Instead they went with the older Windows mobile 5 operating system. A wise choice?
This phone like the Toshiba Portege G900 has fingerprint recognition, which is a security bonus for all users who like to keep their personal files private and confidential. Also with the new finger print technology you can program the G500 to respond to different finger prints, giving you the option to create short cuts with each unique and individual finger print.
Windows mobile 5.0 as it is known, makes the G500 seem more like a portable PC than a mobile phone. Like many new smart...

I LOVE this laptop!!
Review of Toshiba Satellite U300-15Q - Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
lexyloo
Advantages: Numerous
Disadvantages: Gets very hot on your lap
..., as the button is located just where you carry the laptop to move it.
In fact, the only thing I don't like about this laptop are the amount of advertising that comes with it (however, once you get rid of the annoying Toshiba/Yahoo! applications on the sidebar, it actually has quite cool features to leave on your desktop) and how hot it gets if you leave it on for more than about half an hour.
Oveall, though, I would definitely recommend this product, and it is my most prized possession!!!...

Thank you Toshiba
Review of Toshiba 43VJ13P by
Plymyphil
Advantages: Huge, a trusted name, clarity, design
Disadvantages: Price
...is excellent and those who have a toshiba or sony television will be familiar with it. The design and useability are almost identical.
This television has proved easy to use, popular with all who have viewed films and programs on it and most of al has been an exceptional quality when compared to the £300.00 that we usually spend on a television.
Would I recommend it? Well, the answer is yes, but only to people in a similar situation. That is if you are likely to need to share television or films with a smallish audience then this is ideal. If your audience is larger I would opt for a data projector. Likewise if you are thinking of a television for home I'm not convinced that a rear projection is likely to be your television of choice unless you have a seriously large lounge. I would be more likely to recommend many of the alternative...

Toshiba RDXV47 - An absolute dream!!
Review of Toshiba RD-XV47 by
Simmo65
Advantages: Combines all DVD/VCR features into one very attractive neat package
Disadvantages: None that I have found to date!!
...DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW. It won't support DVD-RAM but then, with the 160GB HDD, is this really a problem? I suspect not!! And the best bit about this new model? The price is still remarkably lower than other makes. Price comparison sites will give a range of around £190 to £300 for an online purchase but the lower end of that span seems the more likely.
I've now had mine for around 3 months and I can honestly say that it was worth waiting for a "budget" priced player to arrive. I'm constantly amazed at how Toshiba manage to produce such high quality goods for so reasonable a price. My TV, main VCR and previous DVD players/recorders have all been Toshiba. Not through any deliberate choice either. Each purchase made has seen me look at the functions/specs I require (and I am by no means an expert, so tend to look at fairly basic...

My Toshiba Tecra M2 - Warming up to Progress
Review of Toshiba Tecra M2 - Pentium M 745 1.8 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
BawBaw
Advantages: Light, versatile, packed with features
Disadvantages: It's still a laptop
.... Comparable models retail as low as $1,029 in the U.S., with a price tag of $1300 being more common. As near as I can tell, the Tecra M2 retails in the UK for £1200 - £1700, with £1300 being about average.
◄Final Thoughts►
Weighing in at just under 5 pounds (2.3 kg), my Toshiba is growing on me. I can see the day coming when, at least for work purposes, my desktop will be retired to obscurity. I see that already with many of my colleagues, most of whom swear by docking stations and the easy portability of their notebooks. My work with graphics and large desktop-publishing projects has so far saved me from that fate. My reputation as a modern Luddite is temporarily secure--but only temporarily. Based on what I've experienced with the Tecra M2, I'll likely give in without much of a fuss. Though naturally I'll insist...

Toshiba Portege R100 Review
Review of Toshiba Portege R100 - Pentium M 733 1.1 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
bob_j4
Advantages: Wireless networking, Very Light, Very Fast, Good battery, Sensitive touch pad, Nice design
Disadvantages: Small screen, Sensitive touch pad
...I bought my laptop in march for £1,300 and it is fantastic, it is a lot better than the previous Toshiba laptop I purchased which was also very good. I am yet to find a fault with Toshiba's products and service. I damaged my old laptop twice and both imes my warranty dealt with it brilliantly. In my opinion they are second only to Sony.
Weight and size are very important to me, so this is ideal. The battery is great it lasts me 5 to six hours depending on the task, which is a lot better than any laptop I've had before. The wireless LAN is also very good, easy to set up and works a charm. The touch pad has a few little problems as it has too many functions, e.g. certain parts of it will send you back to the last internet page and other parts will scroll a page when you just want to move the cursor. I suppose it is a good feature...
