...This review is for the Toshiba Satellite Pro m30 Harman Kardon styled laptop.I will not say what I paid as it was a special price and not generally available. I have had this laptop for approx. 9 months. I use this laptop mainly for wireless connection to the WWW from my lounge, I am writing this review on it now. The first things I look for in a laptop or a desktop come to that is how it interfaces with me rather than performance. This laptop is good. The screen is 15".4" and is superb except when outdoors in the sun but then that is to be expected. There is quite a lot of brightness control to suit most people. The characters are clear and crisp, it is not as good as a high quality CRT monitor but that is also to be expected. The keyboard is also good and although I am not a great fan of laptop keyboards I get on well...

Toshiba Satellite M30 - Good Lookin Machine

Toshiba M40X is very good device

Advantages: High Speed, Very bright display, Large Screen, 4 USB ports and durability
Disadvantages: DVD speed is slow. Weight is quite heavy

...My company's Laptop is Toshiba M40X. I have been used this for 3 years. I am a software engineer so computer is very important to me. This Laptop is very convenient for me. Speed is very high. I can install many kinds of tools in my laptop.They worked well without any problem. My Laptop is quite good. Hardware has been working well without any serious problem. I had only to replace a LCD cable during almost 3 years.It's rather enduring. Advantages: 1)Very bright display 2) Screen is large so 3 people can watch movies together 3) Play CD and DVD together 4) 4 USB Ports --> convenient for software developers 5) Speed is high Disadvatages: 1) DVD speed is slow 2) It is quite heavy ( nearly 3 kg) I am sastified with this device. Toshiba is a good label for Laptop. Highly recommended....

Superb laptop, great value for money

Advantages: Great middle class laptop, widescreen and compact
Disadvantages: Lacks the tru-brite screen...

...on here as there are already a lot of open source driver development for this chipset. Cant vouch for the bundled software as that is always the first thing to come off on my laptops, if I remember right there wasnt too much crap preinstalled (again, unlike the Vaios). Strudy build (dropped mine from anbout 4 feet onto hard tiles with barely a scratch to show for it), and battery lasts a fair amount of time. Plenty of USB connectivity. Wish it came with a DVD/RW.... Toshiba are also very good when it comes to customer support, I had one sent back due to a faulty motherboard and the process from start to finish was pleasent - good communications, fast service.
