...Apple are always one of the first companies to fully market brand new technologies which they either develop or partner companies, such as Intel, create. The Apple Ipod touch is no exception to this. The feature which makes this mp3 player stick out the most is the use of a full touch screen. This means that the unit can be controlled by 2 buttons and the main screen without any problem. The touch screen also gives the MP3 player a PDA (personal digital assistant) feel to the device. This allows for a full qwerty keyboard to be displayed on the small device. Although this feature sounds impressive, it can be very hard to use. Most people believe that the touch screen on the Ipod touch is the same that appears on the later released Iphone. ...it to anyone. The looks are exquisite but I think more thought is needed for the functionality of the reverse as it scratches so easily. Durability I haven't dropped it yet as I'm really overprotective of it but it scratches very easily on the back and also traps finger prints on the screen. I also think that the touch screen is liable to go wrong and it controls the iPod so that if this breaks the whole iPod stops functioning. Ease of using iTunes This was the next thing that I did when I got my iPod, it includes Quick Time but I think that the iPod needs to come with a CD rather than having to download it. I think that the interface is really good and it now uses the internet to get all of the album details into your computer which makes it very easy to add more music. ...and fantastic resolution. It is easy to distinguish between different colours and images and anything else you view on screen is crisp and clear. This is especially important when reading text messages for example. Included with the phone is a little stylus that is used for pressing the buttons on the touch screen display. The system is divided into a number of tabs at the top of the screen. One of these is efectively a virtual telephone number pad for making calls. This is self explanatory and easy to use as the buttons are fairly large. However when it comes to writing a text message or similar it can be quite difficult if you are not used to it. The main screen "home" contains the following options: at the top there are four buttons the first being the link to the main options and settings screen, the second button links to your contacts, the third navigates you to your messaging options and the last one takes you to the touch screen number pad so you can manually dial a number. and then slightly below the four main buttons is the information bar starting from the left is your signal strength indicator, gprs indicator, satnav indicator, battery level and then the current time. just below that is is an animated indication of the date and any mettings you have that day. and finally right down at the bottom there are 5 other buttons that are user defined and the icons that are availailable are any of the ones that are in the main options... .... It certainly doesnt feel fragile. The biggest killer of this player is the age. After a few years of being dropped and getting covered in pocket fluff. Some issues begin to arise. The screen cover thing has started to lift off, meanin dust now gets underneath the screen, making the screen appear bubbly. The touch pad now decides when it wants to work, instead of you wanting to to work, and when you press the next track button, it thinks you've selected random play all, even though the buttons are on opposite sides. If you're buying one, make sure its been well looked after, or even new, which i think is still possible on amazon. ----------Quality---------- As i mentioned, things start to go wrong after a little while.
