Touch Magic

Advantages: Great sound quality, great applications

The touch technology is brilliant when you play music, the pause, play, back, forward buttons are all accessible just by one touch of the finger. You control the volume not only at the side of the IPod but also on the screen by scrolling it across. The great addition that the second generation provides is the speakers installed within the IPod, they are not fantastic, but they do allow you to play your music out loud without using an IPod dock or anything like that. Videos I gave blood again today, and usually I have quite a hard time. Instead of 10 minutes it takes about 30-45 minutes to get blood out of me, so I took my IPod and lay down and turned on an episode of Bones. I so far only have 2 videos...

A Touch Too Much?

As the 2nd generation Touch has a speaker built in internally, it let out a small 'ping' which was a little unexpected as I had forgotten most of what I had read about the new models. I also noticed the additional external volume control buttons on the side. These, I believe, are straight from the iPhone, and has already proved to be an excellent feature for me. All the icons appeared instantly on the screen and I started checking them out. I also found that the touchscreen is very responsive and does not need hardly any pressure to select an icon. I had used my brother-in-law's first gen Touch before so knew the basic interface but I noticed the Application store icon had an icon on the homepage now. Ipod Touch 8Gb with engraving

Advantages: All the features of the iphone but without the massive price tag
Disadvantages: battery life could be better

8GB Ipod Touch

Advantages: Wii-fi support, touch screen display, ease of use
Disadvantages: quite pricey, output through headphones just, unless you by a docking station

...One things for sure Ipods are getting more popular by the day as more features and different designs are being introduced to these almost everyday necessities. I purchased the 8gb version 3 months or so back and ive been really please with it. It stands out from the rest as it has a large screen for viewing videos and photo's, but not only that it has the built in touch sensitive display which is very easy to use and im sure very popular. It has also introduced the new wii-fi so that you can connect to a wireless connection whether it be from the comfort of your home or in a coffee shop etc. when you go to i-tunes ur music and files can be transferred to your ipod within seconds though videos take a bit longer. All in all id say this product is worth investing in if you have a spare £180....

iTouch!

Advantages: Packed with applications, very handy and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Keyboard is hard to use, no flash player and not very durable without a case.

...such as Dailymotion. This, obviously, is a drawback. Hopefully, Apple will look into sorting this out for future versions. Other than that, the Safari browser is very good. It's fairly quick, like other browsers, it depends on your connection speed as to how fast your pages load. The iTunes store is a great inclusion on the device. I like the idea that you can be sitting out with your friends and if someone mentions a good song or you hear a good song then you can just access your iTunes and purchase the song (provided your in a wi-fi hotspot). It's really good. You can then listen to it using the iPod feature, which is what the device is built around. But the other functions kind of put the iPod section into the shadows. The touch screen is very responsive and so far, using my brothers 8GB version, I haven't encountered any problems...

iTouch

Advantages: Brilliant

...sleek bit of equipment, the iPod is really beautiful looking and the screen is just big enough So I bought them, what I didn't know is that by doing so I am now the coolest sister ever apparently. I have never seen two teenagers smile so much and say thank you so much. Now the first stage was obviously setting them up. There are many different things that you need to set up, the first thing we did was make sure that the iTouch was connected, I didn't realise that when you have one of these, you can connect anyway where there is WiFi, we have also learnt that if we would like to pay £5 a month, we can be connected anywhere, which i think is bloody excellant. There's no point being connected and yo don't know what for, the iTouch comes with a small selection of standard fuctions, one is youtube, one is google and there is another one...

The screen is a 3.5 inch colour display and the rest of the ipod front face is shiny black with only one actual 'button' which is centred at the bottom of the front face of the ipod touch and serves as the main menu button. The back face of the ipod touch is silver and works pretty well as a mirror so could be useful to check out your makeup! This is the face, which has the engraving on it if you chose that option. The engraving was done by laser and I was very impressed with the result, as it looked stylish along with the rest of the iPod Touch. The top of the iPod Touch has the on off button which you need to hold down for a few seconds to turn it on or off. The base of the iPod Touch has the ports for the headphones and the USB connector. ipod touch review

Advantages: Attractive, easy to use touch screen and applications
Disadvantages: Expensive and the headphones are not very durable

...In my opinion the iPod touch is the best in the MP3 player category. With features such as the applications and album artwork it is much more than just a music playing device. However, I would recommend most music listeners to go for a higher memory option. The headphones are not very durable however, and are expensive to replace. That s one drawback of the iPod, all the accessories and software updates tend to be expensive. With the accessories it may be best to look elsewhere than the official Apple products as there are good alternatives. Unless you want a simple music player, in which case I would recommend the iPod shuffle, I think this easily beats the competition in attractiveness and, like most Apple products, just being cool! Its is not the cheapest in its category, but I think it is without a doubt the best....

ipod touch - wow

Advantages: wide, touch screen
Disadvantages: keyboard difficulty if any

...Wow. Touch meets iPod, a perfect combination! the 3.5 inch screen is beautiful, the sound quality is excellent as usual, and it is surprisingly light. The internet is virtually full as normal, with the exception of games. The keyboard is difficult at first, but this is a minor setback. the youtube video player utilises the widescreen excellently, complimented by the perfect sound quality. If jailbroken, games and other application are available. In my opinion 8GB is enough storage, but if you have thousands of tracks or several series of videos, then you may be better to choose the 16 or even new 32GB ipod touch. It evens allows me to do this review on it! An excellent iPod, definitely worth the £200 rrp....
