The Toughbook that really is tough.
Review of Panasonic Toughbook 72 - P4-M 1.6 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
richard_millar
Advantages: Hard wearing, good quality, valur for money
Disadvantages: Chunky and heavy
...This panasonic toughbook really is a tough, hard wearing laptop. You can drop it and it will still work. A work collegue actually drove his car over this laptop and it still worked exactly the same. It is a laptop that certainly lives upto its name. This baby puts the TOUGH in Toughbook.
Do not be put off by the extra weight, chunky and basic look of this laptop. Remember looks can be deceiving.
The keyboard is one of the best I have used on a laptop. The mousepad is not as nice but hey this is a toughbook. Hit the pad hard and it works like a dream.
You have all thefunctionality and speed of aPentium 4 1.8ghz processor backed up by 256mb of ram. So not only do you get a hard wearing laptop butit is quick too.
The hard drives in these I have found are a bit suspect. In some of the machines they work fine for ages. In others...

Toughbook CF-34
Review of Panasonic Toughbook 34 - PIII-M 700 MHz - 8.4" TFT by
Matttheboy
Advantages: Fairly Robust, small, touchscreen
Disadvantages: Slow performance, some reliability issues
...exclusion as the performance is just not good enough. The CF-18 is the replacement model, has better keys, centrino technology (extended battery life), built in WiFi, Bluetooth, GPRS, GSM, Tablet style screen etc and is a much better offer but looking bck it wasn;t too bad a start for panasonic in this range of toughbooks, there's still room for plenty of improvement!...

Come in number 37!
Review of Nescafe Blend 37 Coffee by
rowei
Advantages: Rich flavour
Disadvantages: A little expensive
...Looking in the cupboard the other day, I noticed I had completely run out of coffee. I normally have a spare jar somewhere, but on this occasion, I had nothing at all. So with that, I decided to pop down to Morrisons to see what they had to offer.
I have never been loyal to one particular brand of coffee and always like to try something different. This time, it was the turn of Nescafé Blend 37. I found it lurking on the bottom shelf, but was attracted by the strange, if somewhat enigmatic name.
As you might expect, there is a story behind the name, Blend 37. We are led to believe that it was coined after the 1937 Le Mans, which Didier Cambreson managed to complete single-handed, without his co-driver. Ironically, he drove car number 37 and finished in 37th place, after pausing for coffee breaks and drinking only this coffee! Well...

Fantastic 37"
Review of LG 37LC3R by
emilne82
Advantages: Excellent Image Quality, Value for money
Disadvantages: No digitial freeview built in, instructions
...http://uk.lge.com/prodmodeldetail.do?actType=search&page=1&modelCategoryId= 0102&categoryId=0102&parentId=01&modelCodeDisplay=37LC3R&model=NOTHING
T he 37LC3R from LGEletronics combines style and advanced features that would be found in many higher priced televisions. This 37inch Lcd television has everything that you could possibly want from a high end tv. Having looked around the usual high street electrical outlets and finsinf nothing that we licked we turned out search to the web. After a while we found a great telly with a fantastic specification. The LG 37LC3R.
The only snag was that we had not seen it in real life, unsure if the great specification would translate into a great performing system we were hesitant. . A www.froogle.com search showed that AJEletronics had the telly for £699 and that it was in stock. Five minutes...

Panasonic Plasma TH37PX60E
Review of Panasonic TH-37PX60E by
pieman1970
Advantages: Deep blacks, no 'smearing', standard definition upscaling is brilliant
Disadvantages: None for this price
...Forget LCD!! I purchased this Panasonic Plasma TH37PX60E last year ( 2006 ) and have been nothing short of amazed at the performance of the set. Hook up a standard defintion digibox through the RGB scart terminal and the set will upscale the picture with top class results while reducing the smearing (associated with LCD\'s) and pixelization. HDTV or upscaled DVD pictures through the HDMI terminals are out of this world without colours being overbearing or unrealistic.
Those of you with technical knowledge will understand that deep blacks are essential for quality viewing and with a contrast ratio of 10000:1 the TH37PX60E really excels, blacks really are black. This is all thanks to Panasonics Viera engine buried deep within the TV.
Connectivity is brilliant with 3 x scart, 2 x HDMI, 1 x PC, 1 x component. I have 2 digiboxes (1 SD...

Philips 37PF9946
Review of Philips 37 PF9946 by
bermudaviper
Advantages: Good Picture Quality, Wall Mount Kit Included, Good Design
Disadvantages: Not HD ready
...I purchased a 37" Philips plasma TV after looking for a wall mountable TV that wouldn't dwarf my living room but also wouldn't look too small. In the end my decision was made after getting a good deal at my local Co-op which enabled me to get a price match plus an extra 10% any high street price. The TV was advertised for £2300 in Comet and I took the brochure to the Co-op who incidentally had the same TV advertised for £2800. After the price match and obviously 10% off the TV cost me £2070, they then asked if I wanted a Philips DVD recorder for £69 which retailed at £269, I jumped at the chance. To make the deal even sweeter they also did 2 years interest free credit which I gladly accepted and left my cash in the bank making interest.
The TV itself is impressively large without being ridiculous, it also came with a wall mount...

I would NOT recommend the 37LC46
Review of LG 37LC46 by
mbvs
Advantages: It's OK with an HDMI upscaling DVD Recorder
Disadvantages: Without one, you end up with *downscaled* images, not upscaled
...but with a slight compromise in resolution - but it's better than what you're stuck with with the LG.
It appears the problem with the 37LC46 is that its 'native' resolution is 480i - meaning that a standard UK television picture is not getting UPSCALED by the on-board video processor, but DOWNSCALED - i.e. to a 'proto-NTSC' 525-line analogue equivalent picture (and at 60Hz too which makes movement look jerky). In fact, when I switch the Philips DVDR to 480i I get exactly the same picture on the 37LC46 that it gives on its built-in DVB-T tuner or directly from SCART inputs, and indeed it goes back to 480i if I ever power-cycle the DVDR because that's the 'resolution negotiation' that gets sent over the HDMI. I can't send it back because it's not 'faulty' as such, but if I'd known that I'd have to spend another £150 on another device to get it to show...

37" flatpanel bests Philips 42" flagship
Review of Philips 37PF9731 by
PriyanPhoenix
Advantages: Superb picture quality, 1920x1080 resolution, wide range of connections
Disadvantages: No 1080p support, multimedia features feel tacked on
...THE CASING
This is a very pretty 37" model with a glossy black finish at a relatively compact size. This makes it easier to fit into a modest sized living room where screens of this size can become cumbersome. The build quality is uniformly good as the unit feels extremely solid when setting up.
It comes with a swivelling glass desktop stand that suits its looks perfectly, though it begs for an expensive glass TV case too. Alternatively wall mounting or a separate floor stand are both options.
There is little to say about the glossy remote although it is well designed with none of the confusing button layouts that have plagued several high-end televisions of late with their over-abundance of features.
PICTURE QUALITY
As with all recent high-end Philips flatpanels the picture quality is nothing short of outstanding...

Fantastic Philips 37pf5521d flat screen tv !
Review of Philips 37PF5521D by
packer2
Advantages: SHARP CRYSTAL CLEAR IMAGES AND SLEEK DESIGN
Disadvantages: NONE THAT I CAN SEE
...Hi everyone
What can I say ,my husband has finally managed to pursuade me to agree to him purchasing a large flat screen tv ,even if it was a little late for the world cup experience ,and I have to say I should have let him have one earlier .So come on girls ,let your men have their way . They really are the business !
We decided on the phillips 37pf5521d model ,this has a 37inch screen which is just right as we have decided to mount it on the wall so is just right for our sized room ,but larger models are available .It is fantastic ,it is HD ready ,digital ,widescreen LCD screen with loudspeakers .The sound is awesome ,the picture is crisp ,sharp digital crystal clear providing vivid cinema like images .Above all it is a sleek stylish compact design with a black and silver coloured surround which would suit any room ,it has virtual...

My thoughts on the LE37R87
Review of Samsung LE 37 R 87 BD by
booby77
Advantages: picture, sound, easy to use, style
Disadvantages: price, bulky
...Paid £849.99 for my first ever HD ready TV and chose the Samsung LE37R87 because the screen was big enough and I associate Samsung with top of the range electrical goods. Paying for the TV was the biggest bugbear followed closely by the sheer size and nightmare it was to get into my flat (I had to unpack it in the hallway). These were the only problems experienced and were quickly forgotten as soon as I had it plugged into my digital box and commenced the set up procedure which was much less daunting than I expected from such a highly advanced piece of kit. Total time spent getting it into the flat and out of box = 35 minutes, installed and working = 15 minutes.
The LCD screen delivers sharp and crisp images that make you sit back in your seat as a warm grin spreads across your face. I had reservations about an LCD before seeing...
