How I spent the night at La Tour Eiffel

...In my last visit to Paris last year, my husband and I visited la tour Eiffel at night, having previously visited it in the middle of a hot summer day. I thought, a night visit would be quite different, the night scene would be a nice change and the crowds will not be so bad. Upon reaching the Eiffel Tower, I wasn't wrong in my assumptions because it was quite deserted and we had a fabulous time! Getting there = The Eiffel Tower can be reached by several means, of which we chose to walk. Our hotel was within walking distance and we felt rather comfortable and safe to walk in those areas. We don't know whether its either our ignorance or the general safety of the local area, but we didn't meet any trouble and we had a wonderful long walk to and fro the Eiffel in the quiet of the suburbs of Paris. The Eiffel Tower

Advantages: cheap to visit, great views of paris, one of the most popular attractions

...If you visit Paris its almost rude not to go up the Eiffel tower. Those of you who have read my other reviews on Paris will know I went there last summer for a few days??and yes I did venture up the Eiffel tower. History: The Eiffel tower was built by the contractor Gustave Eiffel in 1889 and is 118 years old. It took only two years two months and five days to build, which is quite remarkable considering the height of the tower, the weight of the metalwork used and the fact that it was only 1889! There is an exhibition marking the building work of the tower on one of the levels and this is well worth a look, although I can't remember which level it is on. My opinion: I thought it was great and really good value for money, however it has since been named top of the list in a poll of the worlds most disappointing tourist spots...

Tour Eiffel

Advantages: Lots of places to go
Disadvantages: A little dirty

...In Paris, there is a lot to do. I went to visit the Eiffel Tower, which you can go up either by elevator or walk up, and on every level, there is a gift shop, and binoculars to look out at the scenery with. After that, you can eat at the Eiffel Tower resturant, which is beautiful. The food was filling and excellent. After that, on the way back to the hotel, we stopped by at one of the market stalls to buy some fresh sea food, and to do some shopping. I highly recommend going, because you see what Paris really is all about, and the clothes are great! Also, you need to reserve the Eiffel Resturant beforehand, or else you won?t be assured of a seat....

When I Fell For The Eiffel

I see the Eiffel Tower!

Advantages: Close to the Eiffel Tower, clean and not bad prices
Disadvantages: No tea or coffee facilities in the room.

...On my recent trip to Paris I saw a lot of hotels - the first one was the Tour Eiffel Suffren. This hotel is a 4 star hotel and is part of the Mercure chain of hotels. The hotel: The hotel is classed as a 4 star hotel but, is not a luxury style hotel compared to others of the same rating within Paris city centre. The hotel has plenty of facilities which I'll go through later and is quite large with 405 rooms. Location: The hotel is one of the closest to the Eiffel Tower and from the front entrance there is a smashing view of the tower. Some of the rooms also have a view of the tower but unfortunately I was not lucky enough to have one of those ones! The hotel is located at 20 Rue Jean Rey and is actually located right next door to the Hilton Paris hotel. Officially in the 15th Arondissemont it is located on the left bank...

Disadvantages: A little pricy, can be very busy.

You get a 360 degree view of Paris so make sure that you have picked a clear day. i was also surprised that there is a toilet at the top, amazing though, you have to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower to find the cleanest toilets in France!! You can stay at the top as long as you want and there are plenty of lifts to the bottom!! Please enjoy this experience as i did!!!...

...On my recent trip to Paris with a friend I knew that I wanted to go up the Eiffel Tower. I?d been up the Tower about 16 years ago but the last time I was in Paris, about 6 years ago, I couldn?t go up as the ex-Mr Tart was scared of heights. My friend and I both made the Tower a priority for our trip. SOME HISTORY: The Tower was designed by Gustave Eiffel for the Paris Exposition to celebrate the centenary of the French Revolution in 1889. It was originally supposed to be pulled down after a few years but the French realised it was good for communication so allowed it to stay up. The Tower is made from over 18000 pieces of metal and 2.5 million rivets. The Tower is painted every 7 years to stop it rusting and it takes nearly 60 tonnes of paint! La Tour Eiffel's whole "raison d'etre" was its height, at the time it was built, but due to the heights that newer structures can reach in our day and age, its height alone is no longer enough to recommend it! Just another Novotel.....or is it?

Advantages: Clean, very modern, nice rooms and great rates
Disadvantages: Some will prefer a hotel closer to the Champs Elysee

...Another hotel in my recent hotel visit to Paris and this time the Novotel Tour Eiffel. I was really looking forward to arriving at this hotel because I had heard so much about it and so I already had an idea in my head about what it would be like. The hotel: The hotel is a 4 star hotel that is located quite close to the Eiffel tower on the left bank in the 15th Arondissement of Paris. It is in fact just across the main road from the river bank. It is also within easy reach of the Louvre. The hotel is obviously part of the Novotel chain and is fairly easy to spot as it is quite a garish red/orange colour in one section.
