Tower Bridge travel inn
Advantages: a reasonable quality hotel.
Disadvantages: a bit of a walk from the nearest tube.
...Due to hectic summer i decided to treat myself to a short break to London. Having heard and read so many horror stories about low priced accommodation in London. also as i was travelling alone and didn't want to get walloped with suppliments, I decided to book the premier Travel inn at Tower bridge. Which came in at £82.95 per room per night room only.
Location
The hotel is located down Towerbridge road, 200m from tower bridge on the south side of the river. Nearest tubes are Tower Hill (500m) which involves a pleasent walk over Tower bridge then just follow the road under the railway bridge and the hotels just past the first set of lights after the bridge. London Bridge come out of the Station turn right, past the dungeon then just follow the road until you come to Tower bridge Road turn right and then as Tower bridge. as...

Inside Tower Bridge
Advantages: Great views. See how the bridge works.
Disadvantages: Can be crowded at times
...Don't just look at Tower Bridge - go inside it. The Tower Bridge visit is one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done in London and suitable for the whole family. The exhibition explains why and how the bridge was built and you get to see how it works. An added bonus is that you get to use the walkway between the two towers which was originally bult for pedestrians but was hardly used. The tour takes you up one of the towers and down the other, and is "introduced" by talking models in a brilliant display. At the end of the tour, you can visit a display which eplains the scientific principles behind the operation of the bridge - kids get to play with a variety of hands-on stuff. The view from the top of the bridge is fantastic - take a camera for the best shots you'll ever get of the Tower of London, HMS Belfast, the Thames...

Start of Charles Bridge
Advantages: Nice view
Disadvantages: NA
...I went across this tower twice during my visit to Prague:once in the evening and once during the night-and believe me you need to do it this way cos it's worth it.
It marks the start of the Charles Bridge from the Old Town Side. It is often considered to be one of the most astonishing civil gothic-style buildings in the world. Next to the Bridge Tower is a square where you can get a good view of the river and most of all a stunning scene of the Prague Castle on the hilltop across the river. The view is fantastic at night-hence I recommend a night visit to this place. In here, you can take one of those "postcard" pictures.
Even though it's quite at night, this part of the bridge is a different place during the day. During daytime, there are lots of artists, painters sitting around the place to sell their art and there are also...

This bridge lifts
Advantages: Good play value
Disadvantages: none
...I was only playing with this toy train bridge yesterday at work, so I thought I would tell you about it.
This Brio wooden lifting bridge is a good addition to a brio or brio compatible train set.
My group of children and I built a train track across the classroom floor and added this bridge. The bridge includes to ascending tracks. When fitted into place the length including the 2 ascending tracks 648mm/25.5."
Brio tracks allow wooden trains to run along the two parallel grooves on the track. Brio track has grooves on both sides to make them reversible a piece of track that curves right can be turned over to make it curve in the opposite direction. One piece of track connects to the next with a male or female connector like a jigsaw piece has.
This bridge is a lifting bridge. There are two short towers into which the ends...

The Charles Bridge
Advantages: Free entrance, beutifully built, historic attraction
Disadvantages: Can get very busy
...Charles Bridge is probably one of Pragues most recognised landmarks. For many years, Charles Bridge was the only way to cross the River Vltava that flows through the middle of the City. Nowadays there are many bridges connecting Old Town Prague and the New Town but there is still something very special about the Charles Bridge that makes it stand out from all the others.
Charles Bridge is an old stone gothic bridge which is lined with numerous statues of saints. The bridge was built from sandstone blocks and was commissioned by Charles IV, after whom the bridge was named, in 1357. Today, the Charles Bridge can only be crossed on foot, but with it being a very popular attraction in Prague, it is literally crammed with crowds of people all day long. There is no fee for crossing the bridge but tourists are invited to walk up the tower...

Ominous brown stains aren't the best way to start your hotel stay
Advantages: Central location. New modern design. Reasonable price on promo rate.
Disadvantages: Dirty towels, slow check in, distance to car park.
...Now as a rule I never stay south of the river when I visit London, however due to a Hilton 50% off promotion I made an exception so booked a stay at Hilton Tower Bridge. I booked my stay through the Hilton website and secured an Executive room with access to the Executive lounge that also included breakfast.
Arrival
The hotel does not have the benefit of an on-site parking, however it recommends the Q Park, which was apparently close by. The sat nav got me there easily, however it soon became apparent that the car park was actually quite a walk from the hotel. It took about fifteen minutes to walk and with your luggage in tow this was no mean feat! The only saving grace was that the parking was £10 per night compared to around £30-40 in west London. After our walk we eventually arrived at the hotel.
Check In

Disadvantages: Can get very busy at times
... CHARLES BRIDGE
PRAGUE
When I booked to go to Prague for a short break I knew nothing at all about the city. The little visitors guide I bought told me that one of the must see' places I must visit on my holiday was 'Charles Bridge'
As it happens, our hotel in Malá Strana was quite close to the famous bridge and we crossed it every time that we went to the Old town.
This little book also told me that the bridge would be very crowded and that it was a known place that pickpockets were in abundance.
I don't know why, but when we were there (mid-week in October) the bridge was busy but never over busy.
So what is Charles Bridge?
Charles Bridge (Karlov Most) is to Prague is what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, the Tower to London etc. It is possibly Prague's most famous landmark.
It is an impressive...

The CN Tower
Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: None
...So this next review is about my experience in the CN tower, when I visited Toronto Canada. I had visited a number of big attraction sights in Toronto, but this was one of the one?s that a enjoyed extremely. It was fun, exciting, bold and out of this world, it was a plus that I wasn?t afraid of heights, so for anyone who does suffer from vertigo, it might be a challenge to visit this place. I had been to Toronto once before, however I was only 8 and thus didn?t have the chance to visit the CNN tower only views it from outside. I promised myself that I would come back one day to visit this attraction, only took me over a decade to come back, but it was highly worth the wait.
Information and the CN Tower:
The CN tower started its construction in 1975, once the construction was complete it stood at a mammoth 1,815.4 ft) tall, making it...

~ Bridge To Terabithia~
Advantages: Excellent acting, Great story, Good Soundtrack
Disadvantages: none
...Bridge To Terabithia
This weekend while visiting a friend we decided to have a relaxed afternoon and stick on a film and have a glass of wine. As her ten year old son was with us we decided to watch the children?s movie Bridge to Terabithia. I have heard of the film before but didn?t really know much about it. I didn?t know who was in it, what it was about or who made the film which sometimes I think it is a good idea not knowing anything about it. I quite like these children fantasy films like The Narnia films so I thought this couldn?t be too bad. What I like about children?s DVD?s is that they are presented really nicely and this DVD was no exception. It had an outer cardboard cover and the front cover was colourful and looked very magical, which would help attracting kids to buy it (or rather their parents). Another aspect...

Snow in Southern India? No kidding
Advantages: Unique - and that's not an exageration
Disadvantages: A Health and Safety Officer's worst nightmare
...Can you remember the first time you saw snow?
As we sit here in the UK, surrounded by snow and enduring the longest cold-spell in almost 30 years, it would be easy to forget how exciting snow used to be when we were young. It's one of those growing-up things, I suppose; you hit an age at which snow stops meaning fun and days off school and starts representing power cuts, hours of digging out the driveway and treacherous journeys sliding around the roads. I struggle to remember how it must have felt to see snow for the first time ? or at least I did until we went to Snow World in Hyderabad, India.
A couple of days earlier our driver had asked us ? a propos of absolutely nothing we assumed ? had we ever seen snow. 'Of course' we said ? most years there's a bit, not usually very much and it causes total chaos. We thought no more...
