...The North Devon coast is, for me, one of the most fantastic places in the UK. There are lots of activities to do in the area including surfing, hiking, cycling, horse-riding, scuba diving, wildlife-watching, fishing, and exploring. My wife and I have just enjoyed a stay at the Towers Hotel in Ilfracombe, which is an ideal location for visiting north Devon. The hotel is a spectacular Victorian-style building with the slightly-over-the-top architecture which could only work in a building of this era. The interior is kept in-style with the overall building and is exceptionally clean and tidy. Even the Victorian features such as the high ceilings, covings and high skirting boards were in clean, good condition which must take a lot of work by the owners. ...unlimited travel up the Strip so the Stratosphere location is not too bad. I did walk the whole strip once it does seem quick when your going into the hotels as the city is so lively anyway. The Stratosphere is considered downtown when getting a taxi from the airport though so will cost you about $16 for a return which is still not that bad. The hotel is near lots of souvenir shops and I suppose in a way it is good because not being right in the busiest part of the Strip you get a bit of peace at night. As soon as you arrive you can see the tower from the airport as it sticks out high above the Strip. As soon as you get here the reception and casino hit you right away and you know you're in Vegas. The casino here is not the most impressive of the hotels but is very red themed and is always busy with its poker tables, slot machines, you name it... Read review

...OK, so I might have been spoilt by the wonder of Disney some 10 years ago, but the Alton Towers Hotel leaves a LOT to be desired. We visited for the last weekend of the season , encompassing the Halloween Firework & Laser Display in our stay and we knew it would be busy, hence the hotel booking to avoid the queues. From the hype on the web-site we were expecting some dream-like hotel which would be the epitome of entertainment. Hmmmm, well it depends on what kind of entertainment you're after. The hotel is due a complete revamp, or should I say...overdue by about 10 years. The carpets in the corridors are worn and curling, as is the decor. The size of the bedroom resembled a Travelodge (sorry Travelodge!) with one double and one single bed, and a mattress underneath the single for the 4th person in the room - some rooms... Read review

...I visited this hotel when i visited Gothenburg recently. As you walk in to the massive lounge you are greeting by wonderful decor and staff that are immacuatley turned out. I made the mistake of not booking in advance and despite there being a boat convention on in the hotel (which was attracting people from around the world) and it being 9pm in the evening the lady at reception went out of her way to find me a room after it was initially found to be full. My room did not have the best view in the world, and i found my bed uncomfortable (it was a hard matress and i prefer soft) but, again, the decor and bathroom were worth the eur 150 a night we were staying. On the ground floor was a wonderfully decidant lounge bar which served a mixture of cocktails, wines, spirits and beers. The drinks are not cheap... Read review

...We've just come back from a one night stay at Splash Landings Hotel at Alton Towers. It was brilliant! I was like a kid again!! We arrived at splash landings at 3pm and went straight for the pool - it's an indoor and outdoor water theme park - really well decoration and very clean. There are lots of life guards everywhere around the pools - probably not a place to go if you "just want a swim" - there are jets of water everywhere not to mention the slides, rapids, hot baths etc! We paid for a package to stay at the hotel which included entrance to the theme park as well. This is the best thing we've ever done, ever! As a hotel guest, you get let in to the park an hour earlier than the general public - so we rode on all the best rides a few times without having to queue. You also get "Priority passes" to a few of the popular rides... Read review

...I stayed in Kyoto Dai-Ni Tower Hotel, Kyoto, last Christmas with my partner for 2nights. Its one of the Tower Hotel group. Tower Hotel is the main one located in front of Kyoto station, the hotel attract visitor for its tower view around Kyoto and public bath facility. If you stay in one of their hotel you get free ticket to the Kyoto Tower and Discount coupon for bath. Dai-Ni Tower is just around the corner virtually 2min walk from station and Its slightly cheaper than the main one. If you want to stay in Kyoto for a few days and trying to see all the main temples and main tourist place with guided bus tours leaving from Kyoto Station this hotel is convenient. Most of the tour leaves pretty early in the morning so you don't want rushing around Kyoto using underground to get back to the main station in morning hour. Even if you decided... Read review

...I have just returned from my weekend at the Alton Towers Hotel and it was absolutely brilliant. We took advantage of the winter deal breaks that they are offering up until the park re opens to the public in march. We paid £110 for three people for the night including breakfast but it would cost the same for four as you pay for the room not per person. The price includes the room, which was great with tea and coffee making facilities, free toiletries and sky tv. One problem was our group was made up of three adults and the room had one double bed and one small single bed which was in the shape of the silentnight hippo (we found a 29 year old sleeping in a hippo quite amusing anyway) the third bed was tucked underneath.
