The CN Tower
Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: None
...So this next review is about my experience in the CN tower, when I visited Toronto Canada. I had visited a number of big attraction sights in Toronto, but this was one of the one?s that a enjoyed extremely. It was fun, exciting, bold and out of this world, it was a plus that I wasn?t afraid of heights, so for anyone who does suffer from vertigo, it might be a challenge to visit this place. I had been to Toronto once before, however I was only 8 and thus didn?t have the chance to visit the CNN tower only views it from outside. I promised myself that I would come back one day to visit this attraction, only took me over a decade to come back, but it was highly worth the wait.
Information and the CN Tower:
The CN tower started its construction in 1975, once the construction was complete it stood at a mammoth 1,815.4 ft) tall, making it...

Harvester Restaurants
Advantages: Always one close by, quick turn out, children are welcome and catered for.
Disadvantages: Toilets can be quite disturbing, not all dishes taste as good they are described.
...Harvester Restaurants
Restaurant Reviewed: Stag and Hounds
Winchester Road
Basingstoke
Hampshire
(next to Comet and Home Base)
The Harvester chain of Restaurants have over 2000 outlets across the United Kingdom and owned and operated by Mitchells and Butlers, who claim to be the UK's leading operator of managed pubs, bars and restaurants. Harvester claim to offer healthy eating, drinking and entertainment in one reasonably priced outlet.
**** Parking and Getting a Table *****
As with most of the Harvester's I have visited, there is usually ample free parking at the rear of the establishment. However on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch times these places are heaving with customers, so avoid the crowds, go early and if possible ring and reserve a table. The Stag and Hounds is no exception but fortunately...

Fawlty Towers!
Advantages: Superb comedy with John Cleese
Disadvantages: It's a shame there weren't more series
...Fawlty Towers is my favourite comedy and one of favourites in our home and also with most of my friends and family. It originally aired on BBC 1 in the 1970s
It is a comedy made at the height of comedy in the 70s and is about a hotel - "Fawlty Towers" in Torquay. It is probably one of the best known and most loved British comedy and although there were only ever two series they are forever being shown on channels such as UKTV gold - and with there being this boxset available you will never forget this great programme. I am forever watching the episodes over and over again despite knowing most of the words - they are just so funny and enjoyable to watch.
How it all started:
The series was written partly by John Cleese who came up with the idea when he was staying at a hotel in Torquay named the Gleneagles. He was there along...

Alton Towers- What a day
Advantages: All in one place, Fantastic grounds, Helpful Staff
Disadvantages: Really just the Q time
...Rollercoaster's, Crazy Golf and Tea Cups. I am sorry I can't add more to this section, but as I had no children with me I really failed to notice.
Eating @ Alton Towers
Why is it always so expensive to eat when you're in a theme park, well there is no difference here at all. There is a wide range of places to eat including your favourite McD, Pizza Hut and KFC. All have sitting areas within the restaurants and a large area outside too. We all had McD but had to queue for over 1 hr to buy our food. I have to comment that the food was freshly made and very hot. Defiantly worth the inflated price.
Memories
Each of the main attractions has it very own shop for you to buy your souvenirs after you have been on it, so expect to see your terrified face plastered all the monitors. You have the option to buy Key Rings, T Shirts, Coasters...

Fawlty Towers
Advantages: fantastic humour from the god of all moaners

...Created by John Cleese and Connie Booth.
Series 1 produced and directed by John Howard Davies.
Series 2 produced by Dougkas Argent, Directed by Bob Spiers.
Starring John Cleese, Prunella Scales, Andrew Saches and Connie Booth.
Fawlty towers was a classic comedy, set in a fictional hotel in Torquay, which began in September 1975 until October 1979, creating 12 episodes into 2 series.
The main Characters being the hotel owners Basil Fawlty, (played by John Cleese), with his stressed out attitude and the tendency to create chaos out of calm. Also his wife Sybil (played by Prunella Scales), with her beehive hair style and laid back, if lazy, attitude.

Try out the Towers!
Advantages: lots to do
Disadvantages: expensive
...Alton Towers
Over the summer my husband and I went over to Alton Towers for a few days for a break. For those who haven't heard of Alton Towers it's a large theme park with attractions and thrill rides.
It cost £37(adult) and £28 (child) to get in. They do deals for example if you buy in advance online it costs £29.50 (adult) and £22.80.
The park has several different sections offering various things to certain age groups. As you arrive into the park the entrance has lots of shops and an information desk. To the right you can go to Sharkbait Reed by Sealife which to be honest was rather small and disappointing for me. It had different types of tropical fish which you could look a. I thought it was more aimed at younger children.
Beside it was a section, which had a pirates theme, which included a pirate show at certain times...

I visited Alton towers yesterday and while this attraction has plenty for both grown ups and children I visited with my toddler son. Alton Towers!!
Advantages: Fun day out, great rides.
Disadvantages: Pricey, lots of walking.
...rides.
|:| Food |:|
There are food stalls and restaurants placed all over the park so you will not have to walk far when you are hungry. It is not an awful lot cheaper to buy at an Alton Towers provided stall than a MacDonalds, KFC or Pizza Hut so don't think taking the kids to one of those will be any worse. I would recommend eating quite regularly throughout the day to keep up your energy, those rides take a lot out of you and the walking is a struggle too. Obviously don't pig out just before going on Rita because the people below don't want it over them later...
|:| The Rides |:|
Obviously the rides are the most important part of a theme park! What would be the point with out them? And Alton Towers has all sorts, you're bound to find some that you like. I will give each of the rides that I went on during my visit a score out...

The Tower of London
Advantages: Full of History, great tours, Crown Jewels
Disadvantages: None
...This past weekend we had an American colleague of ours come to London for the first time so my husband and I (we work at the same company) decided to take her around sightseeing and show her some of London. As we work quite near the Tower of London and both hadn't been here since we were kids we decided to make it our first port of call.
The Tower of London is situated right on the River Thames in the borough district of Tower Hamlets with the closest tube station being Tower Hill on the Circle and District Line. It was built by William the Conqueror in 1078 originally intended as a Royal Palace. It was then used as a prison with a great number of very famous prisoners, mostly kings and queens of England and the various wives of Henry the 8th. This is where the phrase "sent to the tower" comes from in terms of being sent to prison...
