...In 1995 the world succumbed to an amazingly appealing film which filled the hearts of children and their parents alike. This film was a unique piece of art which could be argued that this is the reason for its popularity, however I disagree. Toy Story incorporates comedy, light hearted drama, suspense and fantastic characterisation into 81 minutes. Woody belongs to Andy, this is evident, his name is written with permanent marker on his cowboy boots which are finished with sparking spears. Woody derives from the Wild west, his mission is to defeat all the bad and support the good. He knows that Andy is his favourite, he takes him everywhere, even tucks him up in bed with him. ...After months of people telling me to see both the Toy Story films, I finally went out and bought the DVD boxset and what a buy it was!. I'm not sure how much it's selling for in the UK, but I got both movies for £19.99 (futureent.com) imported on Region 1 DVD. There are two sets you can buy - the one I got which gives you a few extra features, such as out takes. And the second which comes with a 3rd disk filled with extra's, which I believe is £35 altogether. I'm indifferent as to which is the better film, as I enjoyed both immensely. The animation is superb, and the humour is excellent. If you're one of these people who think cartoons are just for kids, then you'd be very wrong. ...The second of Walt Disney's computer animated films, Toy Story II is an excellent film for all the family. It combines humour with seriuosness giving something for everyone. As in Toy Story I the main characters re-appear: Woody, Buzz, Ham and Mr Potatohead to name a few. However in Toy Story II there are numerous new characters. Following from the conclusion of the first movie, Buster the puppy is included in this film along with Mrs Potatohead. The introduction of Woody's Roundup Gang: Jessie the cowgirl, Stinky Pete the prospector and Bullseye the horse adds to the new cast. Oh and not forgeting the infamous barbie dolls! ...up toys and puts weird heads on different body's. He has a horrible dog aswell. Buzz and woody don't get along as you can get, and many things happen too many for me say. Then Andy is moving house and can't find woody or buzz. Where have they gone, you see them chasing the removal van and Andy's car. You need to see the film to find out how Woody and Buzz are chasing the truck and what they are riding on and who is chasing them. I hope this helps you choose if you want to watch this film or not. Toy story 2 is out now which carry's on the story. This is a film for all the family.... Read review

Disadvantages: You do need to sleep on a regualr basis so can't watch it endlessly

...Personally I enjoyed Toy Story, watched it with the kids. great. This sequel is the only sequel I can ever remember which is actually better than the original film. Why? Well the adult-orientated humour is more prominent in this one, which keeps it interesting for mum and dad. I'ts also got brilliant special effects - not really surpassed even in later movies I'd say. Great action sequences - rescuing Woody from his predicament gives us a great, well I'm tempted to call it a car chase, but that wouldn't strictly be accurate. The use of all CGI just as this technology was really starting to work makes this work brilliantly. it's got plenty of slapstick moments to amuse the small children, and plenty of puns for the grown ups. ...Toy Story is suitable for all members of the family and is a great film for children and adults alike! Starring Buzz Lightyear and Woody as the toys in the film, they are both fighting to be Andy's favourite toy. Woody feels left out when Andy chooses Buzz, and so makes a plot to knock him out of the window. But when this happens and the toys accuse him of being some kind of toy murderer he decides to go on a voyage to get his friend back. They meet many troubles along the way but it is all worth it in the end.... Read review

...Okay my wee boy loves this toy and its a brilliant (although small) action figure that he has placed in his collection with pride. The character is more of a characiture of Woody. My one worry is that the toy itself is a little flimbsy and delecate. I think i paid £6.99 for this and i suppose it was worth the money. The item has plenty of colours and is reasonably true to the movie character. The Hat comes off but i would say that the boots look uncharacteristically big and are not in proportion to the rest of the action figure. I honestly think there are better Woody toys out there and i would recommend shopping around for a similar or better item from the seemingly massive toy story collection... Read review

...We bought the game Toy Story 2 at about the same time that the film was released in cinemas. For someone that would not usually buy this type of game it is not good to start off with as it is difficult but quick to complete due to lack of levels. The graphics were not disappointing, but the gameplay and control of the main character Buzz Lightyear was disappointing and difficult to master. Young children who are fans of Toy Story 2 would be able to see past these flaws to enjoy the game but older families would probably not benefit from buying this game.... Read review

...Toy Story 2; Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue may not exactly appear a compulsive buy to the average gamer, but underneath the appearance of a jelly mould platform/adventure game, lies an unoriginal yet enjoyable game. You must guide Buzz around different levels, fighting evil toys, solving puzzles and exploring different environments. The levels are interesting and varied, and they follow (vaguely) the plot of the film. Ranging from Andy's House at the start of the game, to Airport Infiltration near the end, you must encounter a variety of bosses. A small selection of weapons and attacks are availiable to you to use, including your laser, spin attack and a disc launcher. Graphically, the game is acceptable, but you still get some rough edges and the annoying 'see-through solid objects' when turning around near something. The music which... Read review

...What a pleasure. Sat down in the cinema, the lights go down and Disney's/ Pixar's logo appears and for once you know what your going to get from those boy's. It's a treat from start to finish, a beautiful piece of animation blessed with a terrific script and talented voice performances form Tom Hanks, Tim Allen et all. Originally slated for a video release ( an unforgivable crime) this sequel crashes onto the screen and superceeds the original on every level. Cracking animation by the Pixar crew, great in-jokes,Randy Newman's songs, and best of all an inventive script that doesn't patronise. The story is simple,young Andy's favourite toy cowboy doll Woody is stolen from a garage sale by scheming toy store owner Al and Woody's friends are out to rescue him.
