...under three. This Chicco toy is an animal train with brightly coloured shaped buttons as shown in the Ciao photo above. Each shape and colour represents a different animal; there are 8 animals in total. The idea of the toy is to teach children the different sounds of animals and aid their development in recognising colours and associating each shape/sound with an animal. To make it more fun it is in the shape of a train with wheels that allows a child to push it manually. It requires batteries to enable to hear the electronic animal or train sounds. It is recommended for babies from 9 months till 36 months. My son received this toy as a present just before his 1st birthday a few months ago. All the buttons are in 3D all animals have happy faces, they are easy to press and nice and big in size. It has fourteen blue and yellow wheels two small, one big then four small. At the back which is all red you can find a round speaker, a 3D picture of the horse, the sheep and the driver the dog, and also the four shapes. You have the battery compartment, screw driver needed. It’s a fun toy you can learn the different train noises, and the noises animals make there is no voice to indicate said animal or shape. Brio, a Swedish firm now multinational began in 1884 as a basket making company and developed to making wooden toys wooden trains are brilliant toys. Brios also make prams, cots, high chairs and car seats. The flying Scotsman toy train is a wooden train built to go with the brio wooden train sets. This brio toy is a good reproduction of the Flying Scotsman's engine and tender. This toy is authentically reproduced; details make it like the real train. The flying Scotsman is Green with black details. The engine number and LNER written in gold. Makes me feel all nostalgic for those years of steam. The length of this toy train is 160mm. ...by Tesco and has a few special trains by Brio. I think the tesco train set is quite well made and will last several childrens play and when my grand children have finished playing with it I think it will be put away for my great grandchildren as it is a classic toy and will still have play value in 20 years time. This train set will encourage imaginary play, and co-operative play between siblings. This set will encourage language development if you play with your child push the train along, under, over, stop and start the engines. The set will help develop spatial awareness, as you need a large free space on the floor to spread out the train on. It is possible just to make a small circle for the table, but its not so much fun. This set will develop building skills arranging the best track system. There are trees and stations... Read review

The bottom line is that there is NO such thing as a 'girls' or 'boys' gift.. And, so we shouldn't try to label the gifts or the boys as either one of these. Just a thought.. as you are looking for gifts for your family and your friends. So, there you go , my list of toys and along with the list a little bit of advice.
