Today, Tomorrow Toyota
Advantages: Excellent Customer Services, Excellent aftersales
Disadvantages: Earlier dealerships didnt live up to expectations
...I visited various Toyota dealerships for a good 18 months before taking the plunge in 2005 and buying my Avensis. I found the various dealerships varied quite a lot in terms of customer services prior to a sale. Once the sale had been completed, the aftersalesare second to none.
--Dealerships --
I visited dealerships throughout the Midlands in order to find my dream car, my findings are as follows :-
Listers Toyota - Coventry
This was the first dealer I visited. I was allowed to view the cars on the forecourt with no pressure from the salesman. The cars however were not presented in tip-top condition in my opinion. For example, car seats were left dirty, trim had not been tidied up, etc. When I got talking to the salesman he didnt appear that helpful, basically laughing me down when I told him what car I was looking...

Toyota Starlet GT
Advantages: Fuel Economy, Fast, Comfortable, reliable, head turning looks.
Disadvantages: Need an aftermarket fog light as these cars are imports.
...First of all i will begin my review of the Toyota Starlet GT by giving you a brief history of the vehicle. The first model of the Starlet GT (chassis code EP82) was produced in 1990 and continued on through until 1995 when production was ceased. The code given to the engine used was 4-EFTE. During the 5 years of manufacture the GT went through a slight cosmetic change from having square lamps at the front (pre <94 models) to having rounded headlights. I have been a member of a few starlet enthusiast clubs for a while now and this newer model ( post 94>) tends to be called a "quadlight model". Also the post 94> models had a revised tailgate from the pre <94 models, the difference being a reflective strip being removed from between the rear tail lights.
I personally own a Toyota Starlet GT so i will be talking from my own experiences...

The dealer in front is a Toyota!
Advantages: Friendly, professional, helpful
Disadvantages: A long way from home.
...was minimal, but had I been in my husbands MR2, I don?t think the car would have stood much chance of survival. On this basis, we decided to step up our search for a safer car.
We found what we thought was our ideal car at Inchcape Toyota in Nottingham. We had to be sure that it was exactly what we wanted before driving there as it is quite a trek.
<<<The telephone call>>>
I phoned the company, and spoke to a salesperson, who told me they still had the vehicle I wanted, and gave me some information about it. The telephone was answered promptly, and courteously, which is obviously a good start.
<<<Finding the place>>>
Now, although I can get to Nottingham, I do have problems navigating my way around. No problem. When I got lost, the member of staff on the other end of the phone was very helpful, and directed us in. I should...

Toyota Carina
Advantages: CONFORT
Disadvantages: NONE
...This is the most lovely car I have ever owned. It feels very solid when you are driving it. It had an executive feel about it.
It had power steering. It handled the road very well.
I found that people respect you on the road when you drive a bigger type car, than when you drive a smaller car. People really liked the look of my car as well.
The Toyota Carina E is a very comfortable car to drive.
It had electric windows, which had a control on all four sets of windows. Each window could also be controlled by the driver. The driver could also lock the control for opening / closing the windows, such that no one else can open or shut their windows with their respective window open / close buttons. I don't know what the manufacturers were thinking when they designed this into the windows. It can only be left to the imagination.
The car had...

toyota carina
Advantages: to many to mention
Disadvantages: none
...my toyota carina has just turned over 180000 miles and all i can say is it has been an amazing car over the last 7yrs..yes 7 yrs ago i bought this great car as a 1 previous owner(an elderly gentleman) when it had 47000 miles on the clock and to think i nearly didnt buy it because it looked so borring, how i have changed my mind.apart from two new exhust systems, brakes, tyres(front mostly)a couple of fuel injectors, air filters, oil changes(every year) all the usual things you would expect through wear and tear this car just keeps on going,i swear i could drive it for a whole year and not lift the bonnet.i drive 70miles a day 5 days a week to work and then weekends, its been all over the west country, norfolk, wales yorkshire and the lake district and still it drives superb and not a sign of rust.on a run it averages 35-40miles to the gallon...

Toyota Corolla Verso
Advantages: great
Disadvantages: none
..., and the seats all come out to give greater space for transporting furniture and bikes etc. There's lots of space for a pram as well as shopping.
The car itself is really easy to drive. I'm not tall, and yet I've never had visibility problems and it handles well on corners and so on. Sometimes when travelling uphill on motorways it seems to lack power, but acceleration can be boosted by pressing a button and taking overdrive off - effectively dropping a gear.
It's just had its first service, which revealed no problems at all and although its not exactly economical mine is an automatic and I chose this feature for ease of driving rather than economy. There have been no maintenance costs at all and I've never needed to top up oil or water etc. Toyota do a service plan which roughly works out at £300 for 3 years servicing. I pay by DD so its barely...

Kings Toyota Ropley
Advantages: Generally good reliability
Disadvantages: Generally poor customer service
...I have had a similar experience to "celicakat" with the service team at Kings Toyota at Ropley although from experience gained from another Toyota dealership as well as their Customer Services (and their Personal Finance arm) I have little other than criticism of any of them.
I have a Rav 4 which I bought new from them in 2003 - my first Toyota.
1. The Speedo story
After about 3,000 miles, I was driving on the M3 and was spooked to see the speedo gracefully fall from the 70MPH I was doing to zero, despite the fact that I was still maintaining my speed! After that the speedo refused to function at all, so I called in for Ropley to look at the car. After hanging around for about 90 minutes the service manager came out to announce that the sender unit in the gearbox had completely come apart and destroyed itself and the only way to...

Toyota Starlet as a first car
Advantages: good make of car, good handeling
Disadvantages: not much space in the back, lap belt over the middle seat
...I recently bought a Toyota Starlet as a 1st car for myself and it is in this that I have learnt to drive(ish). As a Toyota it is reliable by definition, mine is 10 years old and is running better than alot of cars my parents have had over the recent years. The front of the car is spacious enough, the only design fault really is how far back the seat belts are but I think that this is generalised to all 3-door cars, the back on the other hand is not brilliant. It is supposed to seat 3 people but personally i would only ever try to put 2 children in the back there are 2 reasons for this; 1) the lack of legroom and 2) the middle seat belt is only a lap belt.
The car itself drives very well, mine has a 1.3 litre engine and the power behind it is very obvious. It is very quick and handles excellently. I would recommend this as a 1st...

The toyota auris a nice car to drive
Advantages: With the engine cut of in trafic should save on fuel
Disadvantages: Can't think of any at the moment
...The Toyota auris we bought on may 27th, at first I thought the idea of coming up to a set of traffic lights and the engine cutting out on you and taking half an hour to start back up again, but it can not be further from the truth, when you pull up to the traffic lights put the car in neutral and handbrake on the engine cuts immediately then when lights go green as soon as you take the handbrake of ad put in gear the engine is as though it was never off. The only thing I have found with the car is that the gears are very close together and I have got this habit of putting it in first rather than third, but gradually I am getting the hang of it. Pulling away speed seems to be a bit lacklustre but may be that will improve with age as it has only done 850 miles at the moment. I have found that changing with the green gear change indicator...

Toyota, the drive of my life? Nah!
Advantages: Power steering, hidey holes, compact, fuel consumption.
Disadvantages: Drives terribly, terrible to reverse
...When an Ambulance dinted my little Renault Clio I was pleased when my insurance offered me a hire car. I was even more excited when I was told that my hire car was going to be a 1.3 automatic Toyota Yaris. It had been a long time since I had driven an automatic and I had always liked the look of the Toyota.
Unfortunately, the Yaris is one of the worst new cars I have ever driven. To be fair, let us start with the good things. It looks the part in jet black and it is certainly one of the prettier compact hatchbacks available. Also, despite appearing very small, the adverts are true. It is very roomy for driver and passengers and has loads of little hidey holes and pockets. The boot room is a bit tidgy and the glovebox is tiny but the back seats collapse completely turning the Yaris into the World's smallest minivan.
In regards to...
