Toyota Corolla T3 hatchback
Review of Toyota Corolla T3 1.4 VVT-i by  volcano

Advantages: Good safety
Disadvantages: front door design fault

...We brought a brand new Toyota Corolla T3 hatchback from a local dealer last September when there was a special offer i.e. slight reduction in price. When we were test-driving the car (slightly older model), it was good with power-steering, sensitive brakes and air-conditioning respond very fast. It was a hot and sunny day and within a minute of pressing the button, cold air was already filling the car. Excellent. The trim looks good and the price was reasonably good 12k sterling before the haggle begins. The dealer was quite helpful as well for obvious reasons. Once we have got the slightly newer version of it. It look slightly different. The main change is curtain air-bag at the side. These curtain air-bag will protect you from side-impact - good safety feature to have with the car is already renowned for its safety... Read review

Toyota Corolla 1.6 T3
Review of Toyota Corolla T3 1.6 VVT-i by  anna222

Advantages: Good on petrol,nippy.
Disadvantages: back seat space restricted, boot space restricted, feeling of being quite low down.

...Without a doubt, this car has all the quality that you would expect from a Toyota. Looks wise, the car has alloy wheels, body coloured bumpers as standard-looks very smart & is well built.. Inside, looks are classy, not too fussy.Cd player, air con as standard, along with your very useful drinks holder.Seats are very comfortable and fully adjustable. Not too many special features as standard, but you have your basics, which are acceptable for the price paid. The corolla is very well made,no rattles, squeaks or manufacturing faults within my first 2 years of ownership. To drive, around town ,it is very nippy.Easy to park in tight spots-good visibility, and handles very well.Gear change is very smooth. Motorway driving is good-though at high speeds their is slight wind & road noise.Though the smoothness & steadiness of the motorway drive... Read review

The new Toyota Yaris 1.3 VVT-i T3 petrol
Review of Toyota Yaris T3 1.0 VVT-i by  lollypop9

Advantages: Amazing.. in all categories
Disadvantages: door pockets too narrow

...Back in 2006 I had left a Review on the old toyota yaris T-spirit 1.0. What can I say??? I have now upgraded to the new model and it's even better than the old one. At first I wasn't too conviced by the different shape but soon grew to love it. I call it my bubble now. I find this car excellent in all ways. I'm a driving instructor so the selling feature at the time was knowing that I would be protected by 9 airbags! And trust me ...in my job that is very reassuring. I find that the clutch control is excellent. Its very hard to stall in it. Hill starts are a breeze and being a 1.3 its very nippy and won't let you down. Vey easy to manoevre both forwards and backwards. Holds corners very well indeed! Doesn't consume a considerable amount of petrol. As my learners have said "it looks cool"! Again the driver's seat can... Read review

A comfortable compact car
Review of Toyota Corolla 1.4 VVT-i T3 3dr by  winstonep

Advantages: Comfort, realibility, economy, build quality
Disadvantages: Questionable safety for passengers, size for families, annoying noises and indicator stalk

.... Being able to turn these off would be nice. Not a lot of leg room in the rear but then I went from an E Class Mercedes to this car so it's not surprising that I think this. I'm more concerned about the front passenger leg room. When sitting in the seat there is no space in front my wife's legs. This creates a risk in an accident of injury. A slight improvement in the design for better clearance would help. Sporty is not something that comes to mind with this car. After 16,000 miles a Toyota tends to improve. This one hasn't by much but again I'm blinkered a bit by going from a car that easily performed as I wanted to one that struggles up some hills in 4th/5th gear. Generally a decent car but don't expect sporty performance... Read review

Vauxhall Astra 1.4 HI TORQ - True All Purpose Car
Review of Vauxhall Astra LS 1.4i hatchback by  MR2MK1CCW

Advantages: Cheap, Very Reliable, Carry Large Loads, Safety
Disadvantages: Fuel Economy is Poor while the HI TORQ claim is false advertising, Security

...I have owned my 1993 (K-Reg) Vauxhall Astra 1.4 HI-TORQ since early 2004 and it has been a great car that has seen many of my other vehicles come and go. The Astra has been my primary car during my ownership covering just under 25,000 miles and has served me with reliability and practicality that would be envied by more modern cars and their owners. GENERAL EXPERIENCE The Astra has been very much a workhorse and has been treated as such. The bodywork has numerous dents and battle scars gained from the general errands that it has been used for. I am often pitied by my mates for driving such a car but it has a certain character that can only be gained by old age. RELIABILTY and SERVICING COSTS Reliability has been excellent bearing in mind that this is a car which I purchased with 69,000 miles on the clock for £425. The clock... Read review

A great family car!
Review of Toyota Avensis T3-X 2.2 D-4D 5dr by  andycharger

Advantages: Economy, features, performance, comfort
Disadvantages: Cabin Road noise, eats tires

...After being an owner of Japanese cars for the last few years, I figured i would stick with them when choosing my new company car. However, I have left the Nissan stable and jumped ship to the Diesel powered wonders of Toyota. What a great move this was! When debating with my wife over what we needed from a car, I initially turned my nose up at a Toyota. A completely illfounded judgement now that i look back on it. It ticks all of our boxes as well as the company boxes. Let me tell you all about my Toyota Avensis T3-X D4D 2.2 5 door wonder car! Reasons for buying - Personal. We needed a large family car that was reliable, economical preferably diesel, spacious and comfortable to ride long distance in. It also needed a hatchback to throw all of the kids belongings in. Speed isnt everything but I wanted a car that responded when i put... Read review

Toyota cars are they worth it.
Review of Toyota by  manchester12345

Advantages: SLEEK and stylish cars
Disadvantages: Bit pricey and pushy salesmen.

...I am going to review the toyota car and how they look and drive as i have test driven them. I have not as yet bought a new one as i would still like to think about it anyway here goes on my review of the new toyota corolla.. TOYOTA COROLLA: I must say this was a very smooth drive and one of the best cars i have ever driven. I HAD A TEST DRIVE OF THIS when i went to the dealers and : The new corolla is in four different bodystyles and five very efficent petrol and diesel engines. You can choose between 3 AND 5 -door hatchbacks including the very exciting T sport if you like sporty type of cars. I myself think this is a truly modern car ,and with its features which i will come to is well worth it if you can afford it , out of all the toyota cars this is my favourite at the moment . superbly equipped all T2 MODELS COME... A wolf thats not in a sheeps clothing
Review of Toyota Avensis T3-S 1.8 VVT-i by  jayin

Advantages: Well built, smooth gear changes, very safe car
Disadvantages: Handling not so good

...this is an issue for me. Having spent many hours searching for a vehicle, and after altering my budget many times, I filtered out all options until I was left with the Toyota Avensis VVT-i 1.8 T3-S. Performance wise on paper, this was as similar to my Honda that I would be able to get to. It was supposedly more fuel efficient, and due to the low cost of Toyota part, this model was cheaper to insure than my Honda. I have only managed to get between 120-130 Mph in this car, which I was quite disappointed. Being the same engine size as the Honda and also possessing variable valve timing technology, this car just doesn't feel like it has the same 'ooopmh', maybe im just nit picking or bitter that I lost my old car. With features such as front and side airbags, which is becoming a standard feature in all cars, this car has basic protection... Read review

A car is for driving, a Yaris is for cruising
Review of Toyota Yaris T3 1.0 VVT-i by  iv3_b33n_r0bb3d

Advantages: mostly everything, electronic display
Disadvantages: nothing

...First things first, why are there so many reviews under 'Toyota Yaris 1.0', I see more T3's around than the basic Yaris. To be fair they were probably all too busy admiring their car and forgetting to realise the model. Back to the topic eh. The striking point to a passer by would be its exterior design, well that's really all they see from the outside. Looking front on you see its large headlight that adds character to the car I must say, checking out its rear, not as attractive but can be considered as average (it's far better than the Renault Megane, errrr). The bumpers are the same colour as the car with the odd grey plastic patches to prevent a scratch when you scrap a car. This car is a 3 door so the doors are bigger than doors for a 5 door car. On the inside, you find yourself somewhere else, the inside doesn't reflect... Read review

Good deal in a smart lil package
Review of Toyota Corolla 1.4 Liftback by  waga

Advantages: reliability, running costs, practicality
Disadvantages: it's slow

...I am assuming this is the 1.4l hatchback (liftback), as this was the closest match. Got this brand new for £13k, for my dad, and 2 miles on the clock, on July 2003 It's an ok drive, but the suspension is a bit soft for my liking, but it is smooth. The aircon is useful, tho would have prefered climate control. The interior is roomy, and we've had no probs with it so far. We haven't had it for long, so we can't tell you of any logn term problems we've had with it. One of the problems that occurred during the first 3 months was one of the heating elements in the rear window gave out, but that was replaced FOC by Toyota. It comes with alloys which compliment the lowered front skirts, which give it an aggressive look - nicely done Toyota! It's a shame only the front windows are electric, as having rear powered ones would have been handy... Read review
