Toyota Previa 2.4 CDX

Advantages: Spacious and comfortable.
Disadvantages: Thirsty.

...I bought my Previa as a new import in August 2002 and I've loved it from the moment I first saw it! It took me a while to get used to the automatic gearbox, but pretty soon I found it a breeze to drive, with its high-up view and power steering. I was worried that I'd struggle to park such a big car (my previous car was a Rover 416i), but I've found it OK. The secret is to reverse into the space (something which I rarely did in the Rover as the view wasn't so good). I've got three kids, plus I often do a school run with more. There is a middle row of three separate seats and two separate seats on the back row. I usually keep the centre seat on the middle row folded down, which improves the rear view (when there's no child in it, obviously!) The folded seat makes a nice tray with cupholders for the kids on either side. Even...

Previa 2.4GS Auto

Advantages: * passengers, lots of load space, Luxury and comfort
Disadvantages: only one rear access side door, engine mounted under passenger seat

.... My wife is only qualified to drive automatics, so this really was the only vehicle for us, as the passenger/load capacity is ideal, and the 2.4GS comes with an automatic gearbox. Driving the car is a dream, at 70MPH you can hold a normal level conservation with all passengers, and the two front seats are the "Captain" type seats with armrests. The suspension is excellent, it asorbs most road bumps and conditions with ease, and makes light work of speed bumps. Having had this car for 3 months I can only find two minor things I dislike. 1: The access for the passengers is Via a sliding side door, which means I have to make sure that side of the car is always kerbside when i park. 2: The engine is mounted under the floor, and to access it, you have to remove the front passenger seat. Apart from that I can whole heartedly reccomend this...

Imported Previa's Estima Lucida

Advantages: diesel
Disadvantages: morre regular servicing

...a little cheaper than the Previa. The only difference is the rerliability and durability of the diesel engine which you were not able to get in the first generation Previa. Maintenance wise the increased fuel efficency is balanced with greater servicing costs that are normal for a diesel. If you love your Previa great I'm still a fan this is just an alternative that might appeal to some. Technical Part 4 Door MPV 2.2 l Turbo Diesel PAS, Electric front windows with window lock feature, Central locking. Air conditioning above centre of vehicle. Heating controls for demist, blowing to feet and blowing of air from console towards drive or windows. Rear heating has a feature to heat back of car rapidly, ideal for children or people feeling cold in winter. Standard model is front wheel drive 4 spd automatic (low, gear 2, Drive...

Toyota Previa 8 seater

Advantages: loads
Disadvantages: you can't say you don't have room for people that want a lift.

...room: Brilliant, the middle seats can be moved forward to give extra leg room in the rear, or moved back to give extra legroom in the middle; it all depends on how you want to have them. Towing capability: Well lets put it this way, not only is it capable of towing any single axle caravan, but a friends car had been parked on our driveway for so long, the wheels seized up on it, but it had no choice in the matter, our car said it was going to move and it did. Personally when we go out as a family there are normally five of us in the car, 2 adults and 3 kids, 11 yr old, 9 yr old and a 2 yr old. The youngest is in her car seat in the middle seats and the eldest are in the rear seats. But if the eldest two start fighting and arguing like most siblings do, we just separate them and put one in the middle. Last year we went on holiday...

♠ Just a Fecund ♠

Advantages: Big boot, lots of space, lots of comfort.
Disadvantages: Lack of grip in cold weather, lack of ummmph when overtaking.

...and once you get over the fact that the indentations along both sides are not in fact huge dents that you've made reversing between brick pillars, you can appreciate these features too. One of the great things about the Previa T Spirit is that it is quiet to drive. It doesn't have the roar of a diesel because it runs on unleaded fuel. Even at 80mph on a motorway, the car is noticeably quiet. The engine is a 2.4 litre and around town only manages around 21mpg but on longer motorway runs 30mpg is quite possible. It has an enormous tank holding 75 litres of fuel, draining your credit card to the tune of around £75 if you run it dry. I never like to run dry though and I never do. It has a BHP of 154 if that is of interest to you ♦ Driving the car ♦ Since we replaced my nice little car with a more sporty -hubby having a mid...

Our Old Previa

Advantages: Size, space for ALL passengers, visiblity, looks.
Disadvantages: Fuel consumption, tight parking spaces

...We bought a 10 year old Previa last Easter when our oldest son came back from Oz and our middle son came home to join the youngest two! Since we wanted to go out with grandma we needed the space (5 adults and two children!). We looked at several MPV's and felt than none of the others came anywhere near the Previa for comfort or style. Looking at it, you would never know the design is as old as it is - in fact I really think it looks better than the newest one (but I also prefer classic Range Rovers to the new ones!) I have put a picture on this page:- http://www.ackworthschool.biblio.net/~administrator/16956/page1.html. In everyday use the two youngest have a row of seats each and are so happy that they can stretch out and relax. All of the seats are big and comfy and they all recline so it is possible to have a huge, almost flat area...

You're ugly, and your Mother dresses you funny

Advantages: Big genuine 7-seater. Very reliable.
Disadvantages: Very dull...and butt-ugly!

...My life seems to consist, at the moment, of reading, writing, avoiding anything that resembles real work and driving squillions of miles around Britain and France for no better reason than –BECAUSE IT’S THERE! For good or ill, I am obliged to drive a number of different vehicles on these sorties, some good, some bad and some just downright ugly. A prime example of the latter is a four-year-old Toyota Previa. 60,000 miles on the clock, an automatic gearbox and 2.4 litre petrol engine under the bonnet. Well, under the front seat actually. Being a Toyota, this bus is extremely reliable. It is also seriously boring, bloody uncomfortable and butt-ugly. OK, so I’m being subjective, but it’s my bum on the seat and the bloody thing has been parked outside my window for the past few days just…squatting there...

2 Years with Previa

Advantages: Good Looking! Spacious and excellent choice for a family of 2-5 children
Disadvantages: Feels really big and sometimes hard to park, especially in London. The Fuel consumption is 14-15 Litres per 100km, quite greedy rider.

...less by using all sorts of tips around. but the only difference it will make is 0.2 litres. My previa consumes about 14.8 litres/100km and I've tried everything that would help to consume less. but the results was unimpressive 14.6, so that's about it. Hope you'll enjoy owning one too, so all in all I would turn down Chrysler vans for this one. Which means that i would like to kindly recommend you Toyota Previa if you're thinking of one!...

Today, Tomorrow Toyota

Advantages: Excellent Customer Services, Excellent aftersales
Disadvantages: Earlier dealerships didnt live up to expectations

...for and what price I was willing to pay (I had done my research and knew what I could get from an internet brokers site). On leaving the dealer my mind was almost made up that I wouldnt buy from here as they didnt fill me with much confidence. Inchcape - Burton The fact that I was disappointed with the Coventry dealership forced me to drive 30 miles to the Burton dealer, Inchcape. Again I was allowed to peruse the showroom with no pressure at all. When I got speaking to the salesman, he couldnt have been more helpful. When I told him my budget, he told me exactly what I could afford and even went as far as offering to find me a car even if they didnt have one in their showroom. This was a very positive experience. Listers Toyota - Nuneaton By early 2005, Listers had opened a new dealership just 2 miles down the road from where I...
